We like this park in early spring because larger trail systems not yet open. When larger systems are open, we opt for those due to longer trails, linked to otter trail systems and lower cost.

Dave waited up for us to come in at 9pm and was so welcoming showing us to our room. The building is so cool and obviously has a lot of history. The floors and stairs are creaky so I was worried we would hear lots of noises in the night but I didn't hear anything from the other rooms at all. The bed was quite comfortable but the blinds did let in quite a bit of light from the street. Shared a bathroom with other guests on the floor. My husband enjoyed the breakfast buffet and chatting with other guests while I was running. The owners were flexible with checkout time so I could come back and shower. It was like staying in a friend's home. Definitely a b&b experience, if you are looking for a sterile keep-to-yourself experience, you might prefer a hotel.

Pricy merchandise so I bought a cool skeleton sticker for a souvenir. They have rentals and a shop to make any adjustments or repair on your gear. I had my bindings snap so the technician was able To help with a temporary fix. Plan ahead for a busy day. Food In the lodge cafeteria was decent. They were out of cheese curds that day so they had some cheese triangles that look like Makeshift cheese curds. If you're hungry everything tastes great! Typical of resorts, food is mid to high priced so you can bring your own food if you want to save money. They also have a restaurant for other food and drink options. Parking lot was close by so you can walk to your car not too far even on a busy day. They offer a 3 day flex pass you can use conveniently anytime during the season at any of the three resorts: Granite Peak, Luften, and Snow River for a decent price and if add an extra day it's $69.99 or $70. Lifts are fast so be careful Getting off the lift! Nice view of Wausau at the top! Of the hill!

From the moment I first connected with Randy to check availability, to his gracious and warm greeting at the front door and through to our last good-bye, it was evident that his goal was to make our stay a memorable one. He succeeded in his objective far beyond our already high expectations. The public areas, our room with all the attention to details, not to mention the amazing 3 course healthy and delicious breakfast, all added to a most enjoyable time. There are many reasons people own B&B's. We just came from one the previous evening that was nice, but it was also apparent that money was a driving motivator. Randy is a businessman - and a very good B&B businessman at that - but we were made to feel as though profitability was simply a byproduct of an extra-ordinary stay. This claim is further substantiated by the crazy low rate he charges for his rooms! I hesitated to write this review because I selfishly don't want others to know of this little gem of a place but writing these heartfelt thoughts is the least I can do to show my appreciation for the wonderful night we spent at the Stewart Inn. Took a trip to New Orleans through Wojo's. The weather there was great but not so much back in…read moreMilwaukee. Because of the weather our return trip was delayed one day, not sure who, but someone picked up the hotel tab for the extra day. On our return trip there was a short stop in Atlanta. There were twelve of us going back together. On the bus back to the the airport there were rumors that are our Atlanta connection was cancelled. I called Cathy at Wojo's and she assured me there was no cancellation, others on the bus were not convinced. I called back again asking if we needed a confirmation number at the airport since our paper work indicated the departure was a day earlier and using a different airline. Cathy indicated all we had to do was go to the check-in desk for Delta (our revised airline) to get our boarding passes. Once we arrived at the Atlanta airport everything went according to plan. Cathy provided us with the necessary direction for peace of mind and a great trip. Thanks Cathy.

It was just big enough for the tub and toilet. The washcloths were thick and towels adequate. I have stayed at some Hotels where the washcloths were thread thin. The sink area was in the entry way by the door. Toilet paper and Kleenex were almost like tar paper. The bed was just comfortable enough but the pillows sucked. Our second night here I had won a blanket throw at the convention and rolled that up for a pillow. It was more comfortable. Both nights my sheet and mattress pad were pulled off the bed by my head when I woke up. They just would not stay on the mattress. We decided we may just start packing our own tp and Kleenex a d pillow. We stayed here because we were attending a convention next door to the hotel. We travel a lot so we are in a lot of mandated hotels for convention so we can compare. My husband visited the free breakfast area the first morning and reported it was cereal and toast. We usually stay in Hampton Inns when traveling on our own and there is no comparison. I would say Hampton Inn is an 8 with this hotel being a 3. But I know price wise it was $75 Vs $100+ so if your looking for low rates Vs comfort, this is your hotel. The room was very clean and the lobby area inviting and decorated nicely. Carpet is well kept up and looked newer. Our check in was friendly and fast. There wasn't anyone at the front desk when we left at 8 am. But I know that lately the front desk staff are doing everything from laundry to small repairs etc. This hotel is conveniently connected to the bowling alley by a sidewalk. This makes it convenient for going back and forth to a convention at the bowling alley. That sounds a little weird but the bowling alley is high with wings/spaces for conventions, weddings etc. as they also have their own catering. Bottom line, if I were to stay here again I would Bring my own tp, tissue and pillow and soap/shampoo.
