There are two estheticians working there (one is the owner). I think this is typical of most Chinatown facial places, but the esthetician is working on many people at the same time. The facial was ok. The entire place had dim lighting. I was put on a bed and had several blankets placed over me to keep warm. After they washed my face, they put a covering over my eye to protect it, then did the standard steam and extraction (using a very bright light). The extraction itself was very gentle, but the esthetician only extracted my nose (which is still quite red). So not the most thorough extraction. And yes, they use implements. They are extremely generous with the masks. I'm not sure what they put on me, but they put several layers of collagen serum, some mud masks, and for an extra $10, an eye mask. I was left alone for extended periods of time, while the mask was settling (note the pillow they gave me was ok, but not the most comfortable one I've had). The entire treatment took 2.5 hours. And it's been 3 hours since my facial, and my skin still feels like a baby's. So in the end? I like them, and I think I definitely got my money's worth from all the masks and stuff they put on me. I will be back for the occasional mask, and a light extraction, but I'll have to find someone else for a more comprehensive extraction.

After an entire summer of jogging and exercising my forehead and chin broke out. I had clogged pores and blemishes. Every blemish turned into a gigantic pimple that then left my skin discolored. My boyfriend would sometimes look at my gigantic pimple while talking to me, it was just horrible! I listened to Amy (the esthetician) and went weekly for a month. I mean I dealt with 6 months of my skin being a complete mess. I thought I'd give it a 1 month. If it didn't work then blah! right? She did extractions here and there, pretty much what I can bear per session. I was nearly in tears each time. I'm also a wimp so the whole process was just mind-numbing. However the whole time she joked with me and talked me thru the process. The 2+ hours passed very quickly. I never asked what she put on my face but it was cleansing treatments, collagen water & cooling masks. She even plucks and cleans my eyebrows! It's been 4 weeks and my skin is completely clear, blemish free and smooth. I still work out like crazy but I now know to make this facial part of my routine. I highly recommend Amy (and her assistant is so wonderful too!) They are both so sweet. The place is small but it feels cozy. You sleep in beds with a toasty warmer underneath. You can literaly take a nap the whole time she's working on your face. The 10-facial pkg is totally worth it! I've paid 4x the amount for facials at Equinox after each workout and I did not see these results. I've gone to Bliss and nothing they do is comparable. Yes, you like the decor but you leave and pay a whole lot more while your skin looks the same. Just to be clear, your skin will look a bit blotchy the very first visit. If I could afford another product it would be the Galvonic facial machine. I have a friend that is close to my age, she has been using the Galvonic for 3 years and her skin looks like she is in her 30s. No double chin, or sagging jowls.
