Amazing! My nascent sore throat, allergy induced, I thought, got much worse overnight so I naively came back. I had refused the strep test and thought it was prudent to do it. Also given my terrifying symptoms: harsh pain, trouble swallowing, mucus in my throat, swollen glands I thought maybe I sould be checked out again the symptoms werent there yesterday. Apparently. It doesn't work that way. You can't come back for the same thing she advised me to go to the emergency room. And by the way there are no doctors there on Wednesdays. That coupled with their at home equipment. An omron home blood pressure monitor- could have donated my old one-- a costco brand no touch thermomenter-- just like home I have the same one--I was impressed with thedoctor I saw yesterday-- analytic, observant and professional -- and this is close to home. City md always my go to. Isseveral miles and a bus ride away. It's a great web site. I just wish the level of care delivered on the expectation of care promised on the web! read more

I had an accident in the kitchen last weekend while cooking and sliced my finger badly. I usually goto the City MD on Glen Cove road but they were closed. I googled and found that this urgent care was open and went in. I was seen immediately by Dr. Verma. He said I would need about 5-6 stitches. He did a running suture but there was still blood coming out so he put in a couple of more stitches. I am no expert but the stitches looked very messy. His movements seemed slightly uncoordinated and erratic. He told me to go back in 2 days for a follow up. When I returned on Tuesday he said the healing looked good and I could come back for suture removal in 5-7 days. He was also a little uncoordinated when he was undoing the dressing and wasn't very gentle with handling my finger. I went back this morning for removal (5 days later) and it was a PA that was handling it. He was very nice but was very shaky. The removal process was extremely painful, even more so than when I cut myself. I winced in pain quite a few times. Since this is the first time I've had stitches I was not sure if the amount of pain was normal or not. The removal took quite some time, over 30 mins. I'm also thinking it took a long time because of the shotty job that the dr did. I started to bleed a little at one point. When the last stitch came out I noticed there was still a gap and the wound was not closed. I asked if this was normal. He went to check with Dr Verma and came back and said it was fine. I left this urgent care not feeling very good about what just happened. So I went to City MD for a 2nd opinion. The dr that saw me said right away that the sutures were taken out too soon and that I would've had a big scar if I left it that way. That was also the reason why it was so painful. She put some steristrips on me and said it should be better within 5-7 days. I am very upset that the dr did not even come into the room to look at the wound even after the PA went to check with him. Also, they should have had told me to come back in a few days so it could be fully healed but it no even questioned it. I have a very high pain tolerance but it left me almost in tears. While I'm glad it was open when I needed help, I will never be returning to this urgent care. The doctor does not seem thorough or caring towards the patients. I do want to mention the rest of the staff were very nice and friendly. The picture I am posting is right after the sutures were removed. I'm not sure why they thought it was okay to send me home like this. read more

C Beltran: I visited this place looking to be tested for COVID 19. I am a 60-year-old person. This place is not professional! I would never step into this place EVER AGAIN-AND IF YOU DO GOOD LUCK! I went to the Lawrence location, after I registered via the app, I sat down and waited almost 2 hours when a teenager showed up with her parents and looked to be friendly with the attendant.. 20 minutes after she filled out the information, The attendant called her in for the same test I have been waiting for-they just ignored me. When the family came in, I heard the entire conversation. They came in asking if they could get a test just like I did 1 1/2 hours earlier than they came in. But, she was called in before me without any regards for me or for the time that I have been quietly seating there waiting. After they took her in before me. I immediately asked and demanding from the receptionists and answer as to why the teenager was taken over me when I have been waiting for over an hour. They had no answers. They were friends so they decided she was most important and skipped me! I walked out very angry-People should not be treated this way. Even if that person was their friend. They should have respected me and my time, and my age. I will check with my insurance to see if you will bill for the test-and will report YOU if you charge them for a test. You did NOTHING for me. You did not help me. All you did was to disrespect me because your friend showed up. Horrible place--I will never ever visit this place. Yelp says they open 8am to 8pm. The medical assistant and clerk arrived at 10am with a line of people outside the office. The wait time for me was 1.5 hours. I don't mean to be a Karen. Just letting you know. There was only 1 doctor there and she didn't come in to see me. She just asked what I needed and left, which is fine bc I'm an RN and I know what I need. I went to this location to get the Antibody testing done. I just want to say the receptionist there was soooooo nice and helpful. She smiles bright and is helpful. She has the cutest West Indian accent (no pun intended) it's just cool to hear her speak. As for the service. It wasn't bad at all. I came around the time they went to lunch so I had to leave and come back but once I was seen by the reception/medical assistant (Im just assuming that's her title) took my blood and I was in and out. Wow... This place is completely incompetent. The doctors and pas don't give a damn about anything. My sister had stitches put in by them... And returned to get it removed... Any person with common sense could have seen the wound wasn't healed enough to have it removed. She asked the PA about it whom supposedly went to check with the doctor and said it was OK. So either the doctor is stupid/doesn't care or the PA never did ask. Neither case is OK! The PA continued removing the stitches and guess what... The wound is still completely open! Find a real medical facility and don't trust your health to this place full of incompetents. She went to get a 2nd opinion and they said this place completely fudged the removal when it wasn't ready to be removed. Idiots. read more

I came here two times in the same week for something that was actually related to eachother and Dr. Verma and Dr Kennedy... They are just excellent!!! They are both very professional and promt and I like how they ask the right and necessary questions to getting to the bottom of it! Dr. Verma is very thorough and Dr Kennedy is as well! He was extremely fast when sending in my script. I love how the most I waited was probably 5 min if that! You are literally in and out! Just be careful when exiting and entering that lot lol... I had an emergency situation on a recent Sunday with my elderly mom who is also wheelchair bound. Her jitterbug phone came up with this center. It is by far the best urgent care center I have ever been too and we've had our share. Dr Kennedy is a kind man and an outstanding physician. I wish he had a private geriatric practice. Don't go here! They say they accept your insurance but a lot of time they don't. I got a bill a month later for $455 dollars. They were wrong and my insurance didn't accept my insurance for a shot I need for work. I fought with them saying I shouldn't pay. They told me Alright you'll only pay a $100. I said "No I'm sorry its your fault I only should be paying $20 for my co pay". I gave up and just paid the $100. Never going back to them again and if I were you I wouldn't go to them. I have never been to an office like this, having my own GP, but I was too sick to get there and decided to try this office. The whole staff was great! The office was located in a very convenient area, the space was clean and welcoming, and there was almost no wait both times I had to go to see the doctor for my current illness. My prescription was sent while I was still there and before I got to my car I had a call to say it was ready. I can honestly say I was very satisfied with the whole experience. read more

This is the best urgent care facility on Long Island! I recommend this facility to anyone who needs to be seen by a Dr. And wants it to be quick but efficient. I usually use Yelp to read other people's reviews, but in this case I think everyone should know great they are. I went in yesterday for the first time. The facility is so clean and the staff is very nice and professional. I was seen by the Dr. Within 10 minutes of walking through the door, even with having to fill out the new patient paperwork. The Dr. was very caring and personable. Then today I received a voicemail, called the number back and the Dr who is working there today actually picked up the phone. I thought it was an accident and he would transfer me to the receptionist but he did not. This Dr has never treated me or even met me and he took the time with me to answer all of my questions. I have never had a Dr answer medical questions on the phone especially knowing they can not bill my insurance or get a copay. Then he informed me that if I wanted to come in he would waive my copay Since it was a follow up from the day before. When I got there I was speaking with the Dr within 5 minutes of walking through the door and again was treated with care. I will only go to this facility moving forward, urgent cares are popping up on every corner in Long Island now and from the many I've gone to over the years this is the most caring, efficient and clean facility! read more
