She was transferred from Mt View rehab after a two week stay. She suffered a fall in the garage, hitting the back of her head, which rendered her completely immobile, cannot stand or walk, has no use of arms or hands, and what very little hearing she had left, is gone. My first impression? This place sucked!! Used linens piled high on the table and recliner. Trash and latex gloves on the floor, even right next to the trash cans which were spilling over. Her lunch was just sitting there as she waited for someone to feed her. Remember, she has no use of arms or hands. I started to feed her when the nurse came in and said, "Oh good, Im helping another patient who had an accident." He never came back. After couple hours, I asked if she wanted me to bring anything the next time. She wanted a large box of tissue. They were using toilet paper instead, which I found on her tray. She asked for toothpaste. Didn't have that there either. Went to the store and when I came back another nurse was changing her. I told her I brought toothpaste, and said she wanted her teeth brushed. She said, "Oh, you can do that!" I told her I don't work there. I ended up brushing her teeth for which my friend was thankful. I didn't mind. But that nurse's dismissive attitude, I minded! When I was leaving, she said, "Are you going already?" Why do people work in these places if they're not willing to do the work, or take the time to know the person's disabilities and needs? Why bother?!

My mother was a patient in AHC-Summerlin for 6 weeks and during that time she and our family had…read moreboth, positive and negative experiences. First the positives; I can't say enough about the entire physical therapy team. I could name them all but I would not to inadvertently leave someone out. They were amazing for our mom and we saw fantastic gains in her abilities. I would also name three people, RNs Kayla and Rafael and CNA Aisha who are perfect examples of what genuine caring looks like and we are forever thankful for their kindness. Now for the negatives; The administration staff, specifically the Administrator, Nate Hill and the Case Manager, Debbie Benyock are, in my opinion, unprofessional and uncaring and don't quite fit in a roll the requires a sense of caring or empathy. My mother suffered a major stroke and my sisters and I were literally spending shifts, 24/7 around the clock with my mother. On the night of Aug 26th, a CNA came in alone to check and change my mother. From an elevated bed she attempted to roll my mother on her side and in doing so rolled her completely out of the bed and onto the floor. This was witnessed by my sister. The CNA immediately apologized and stated that she had no idea that my mom was paralyzed on her left side! (we had not seen that CNA since). This resulted in contusions and bruising to her forehead and both knees and was taken immediately by ambulance to the ER. To this day, she still suffers PTSD and has a severe fear of falling. The hospital stay required a 24-hour observation period for which AHC-Summerlin was quick to charge me $700 to hold her room for that 24-hour period. We were in the ER and at their mercy so I paid it along with a $275 copay for the ambulance and $140 copay for the hospital. Mind you, when we got back to her room we found all of our belongings piled up in the corner and on the table as if they were ready to throw it away, oh yeah, remember I paid $700 to secure the room. When she was back in the facility I followed their grievance procedures and spoke to Nate Hill. He basically blamed it on Medicare and the government. When I reminded him that it was his employee's action that created the situation he nonchalantly said, "oh, ok" like meeting over. When my 90-year old father went to tell Debbie he wanted her discharged and said he would take care of her, she abruptly told he that he can't take care of her. They've only been married 70 years and had she any shred of decency or empathy she could have seen he was emotionally spent instead of making him feel like he was being scolded. When it came time to discharge my mother, Debbie brought the paperwork to our room where I had to sign the form stating I was given the information, along with the steps to take to appeal the decision to terminate her care, due to lack of progress. In her unprofessional mannerism she told me I can appeal but should not bother because they will only review the same reports that were used to make their decision and we would not win anyway. Well, to her dismay, we won the appeal and received one more week. She has not spoken to us since. Ever since my mother was rolled out her bed, not one leadership person at AHC-Summerlin has ever, to this day, has every asked how my mom was, apologize for the event or taken any sense of accountability and quite frankly, my sister and I have been made to feel like it was our fault and we have felt unwelcome being here. Had it not been for the excellent PT, we were ready to move to a non-AHC facility for the remainder of her rehab. I have found this facility to be run by uncaring, unprofessional and unempathetic leadership. This past Sunday there were no CNAs on duty until the afternoon shift (1400) showed up. This means that the 3 or 4 other employees that did show up had to try to get patients changed and breakfast was not available until 0930 for which I even offered to help deliver or pick up trays. If you can stomach some of the negative, the PT is very good, however, I could never, in good conscious, recommend AHC-Summerlin to anyone.

The most recent incident is unacceptable. I received a call the night before, but no voicemail was left, and when I called back twice, staff denied that anyone had contacted me. They also told both me and my mother that my sister was "fine." The next day, I was suddenly informed that my sister had been sent to Valley Hospital because she was bleeding from her mouth. When I arrived, she had dried blood on her lips, teeth, trach, ear, and the back of her neck. This raises serious concerns about whether she was checked on at all during the night, especially since staff insisted she was fine when we called. After years of issues, I am deeply concerned about the pattern of neglect and the lack of transparency. I have reported problems to the state before, yet nothing ever seems to change. I am worried that important information is not being documented accurately or passed on to the proper authorities. At this point, this facility needs a full investigation.

When I visit my best friend, I see that the quality of care could be much better if they were fully staffed and if more people truly cared about the residents, their belongings, and their overall appearance. They allowed her feet to drop and her fingers to curl into her palms -- and my best friend is only in her mid-30s.

She still needed care but, insurance. We were directed to Royal Springs. From the very first night, when we met many of the nurses and aides including Sata, we knew we could catch our breath. My bride's care was excellent! It seemed she never went more than a half an hour or far less in many instances before someone came to check in on her. Frankly, I do not know how they do it and to do so with sincere smiles and dedication to their work. Our nurse Debbie in the 300 hall was a godsend. Whatever we needed, when we needed it, she and a whole host of others were there to aid us. It was a very scary time for us, my son in particular. But the attention we received at Royal Springs gave us a respite. It took time and there were some slight complications such a spiking high blood pressure issue was cause for a great concern. In fact it was so high our Nurse Practitioner, Gim (Gina) Gireesh stepped in and told the insurance she would not release my love until they had worked the problem and solved it. And then there's rehab. I buried the lead. The folks down in OT and PT are so incredibly patient and easy, I had complete confidence in them, and they never disappointed. They worked with my sweetie everyday transforming a woman who had no strength to even lift herself into a woman who could again walk and begin to care for herself again. Finally, case worker Ms. Miriam, an absolute earth angel. First she did run interference for us with insurance and helped us so we had the critical time needed to heal enough for a return home. When it came time she helped us navigate the exit making sure my wife had as much supplies for home as needed to continue in our march back to health. I am grateful to the men and women of Royal Springs. The staff and management are top notch caring caregivers. It is my sincere hope you won't need rehabilitation for yourself or a loved one, but if you do, the first step in the right direction is a care you can count on. We did. Now, my love is home and bossing me around each and everyday! Thanks, Royal Springs! I mean it.

I don't usually write reviews but this is one of those life changing experiences that i have to…read morerave about! I searched for 7-8 months for mental health and addiction rehab. Always running into issues because of insurance. I found virtue totally by chance and i have to say this place has been a blessing, i suffer from alcoholism, acute psychosis, and severe depression. I checked in new years eve and immediately was received and treated with the utmost respect and compassion. Hard to believe this is a rehab. A wonderful woman named Kim kept watchful eye of me during my initial detox period and made sure i was ok (i cant even remember the first 4 days here). Every client or patient has a private room in a villa. The rooms could compete with the finest hotels honestly. All me meals are prepared by chefs and if you don't want whats on the menu tonight you simply ask and they'll prepare a special meal to accommodate you. From morning til night our days are full from group meetings to therapy sessions i really felt occupied in a really positive way. The WHOLE staff here is so completely engaged and caring, ask for anything within reason and they make it happen, no waiting hours for someone who doesn't know your name or care to come assist you. These people are top notch from the techs that make everything run smoothly to the amazing nurses and wonderful chef and staff literally i have no bad things to say. If you or a loved one suffers from mental health disorders or addiction i would recommend this place wholeheartedly. Getting the help i needed here was truly a blessing. They even handle your aftercare such as outpatient services to ensure you continue receiving care after you leave inpatient care. I was worried about after i left but my caseworker Kamisha made sure my transition back into the real world was seamless and stress free. I have to give a special note of appreciation to my therapist Stephen he was integral in my recovery. Truly educated, calm, and concerned about me. Part of me honestly didn't want to leave because i felt so safe here. But like every other patient here from all walks of life, i had to reintegrate back into the outside world and go and be a better dad, a better business owner, and a healthier me ready to take on the world.

He had catheter complications but had no awareness of what the tube/bag was for. After a 3-day hosp stay it was sugg that he go to this facility to regain strength & continue IV antibiotics. A synopsis of SOME issues: 1. He was there 30 days, was sent to the ER 5 times due to blocked catheter, delirum, falls & infections. The only reason he was there was to monitor his urine output, so that blockages could immediately be addressed. 2. The hospital, during one of his trips, decided to install a suprapubic catheter. The hospital did surgery to install the cath w/o consulting us as his medical POA bc Skye Canyon failed to provide that info. 3. They consistently neglected to place the bag on the floor at night for proper gravity drainage, as witnessed after typical visiting hrs. This caused blockages and ER trips. 4. They were not feeding him. They brought food, but left him lying flat in bed, unable to even adjust himself to a sitting position. We told them multiple times to either sit him up in bed or place him in his wheelchair for his meals. He weighed 176 pounds when admitted. Hospital lab work after 3 wks showed signs of malnutrition, so they filled him full of Ensure to mask that, which caused diarrhea, with no toileting assist & another fall. He weighed 155 pounds at discharge. He lost 21 pounds in 30 days under their "care". 5. I asked once if they had bathed him because his hair looked greasy & he had a smell. No one could tell me when he was last bathed, & said "All he has to do is ask!". 6. After checking his bag one evening, I got 3 diff answers from staff re when the bag was last emptied b/c it had no urine in it. I again explained that if a blockage occurs, he goes into delirium & pulls the cath or falls. One of them again said "Oh, that's good to know". THAT is the point I lost it, slapped my own head & said "you've got to be f***ing kidding me! Why you do think he's here?". 7. We had a planned trip & were so worried about leaving him in their care, that we hired home health aides to sit with him WHILE in a nursing facility to keep an eye on his cath bag & prevent falls. 8. Each time a patient is sent to the ER, the room is packed up & all belongings are boxed. They lost multiple clothing items. 9. An ER Trip requires ambulance transport, one of which they marked as non-emergency, resulting in a $1200 bill for us, that we are still fighting, This was a trip where he had torn his suprapubic cath tube near his abdomen & it was "floating inside of him" & he had fallen, requiring surgery. He was able to tear or cut the tube at 1am while 15' from the nurses' station, & no one noticed commotion and it was deemed non-emergency? They then had the nerve to ask if we could provide the home aides again because it was so nice to have them keep an eye on him. 10. He has been in a memory care facility for 2 mos now, w/ home health on-call for any catheter issues. He has experienced ZERO ER trips or falls while there because the non-medical staff simply checks his catheter bag every 3 hours to alert of issues, preventing hospital trips. 11. When we wanted him moved, it was initially refused & we would be taking him against med advice. His ins would pay for 100 days, so it was obv they wanted to drain that entire benefit. After reminding them of the series of neglectful events, I had the paperwork within days. I don't blame the staff for the lack of attention & care. I blame the owners of this facility. They care about money....not the patients. I have no doubt that if he had remained there the entire 100 days, he would not still be with us due to infection, a fall or malnutrition that would have been swept under the rug as just a 90 y/o who passed from natural causes.

I recently spent 11 days admitted at this facility. There were 3 distinct phases of my care that…read morebear documenting: DAYS 1-4: At the time I was released from UMC following an 11-day admission, I was walking 8 laps a day around the pulmonary ward and getting stronger by the day physically, mentally and emotionally. The patient coordinator from PAM Las Vegas, who was responsible for representing my interests, was fully aware of my status at the time of discharge from UMC. Per PAM's website: " the patient coordinator will continue to represent their interests, working with acute care discharge and the patient's insurance provider. This service helps ensure a smooth transition into long-term care while allowing the patient to relax and focus on healing." What I encountered upon my Friday evening arrival at the PAM facility was anything but a 'smooth transition'. Upon checking into my room, I was informed that I was in 'isolation status', meaning I would be RESTRICTED TO MY BED from Friday evening until a physical therapist could evaluate me the following Monday. The nurse, offering no apology, explained that it was their policy. I wasn't exactly able to "relax and focus on healing" for my first 60 hours at this facility. When I complained to the patient coordinator, he said "I'm pissed", but offered no apology nor resolution. PAM NEEDS TO REVIEW THAT POLICY THAT FORCED ME TO STAY IN BED UNNECESSARILY FOR 60 HOURS, WHEN I COULD HAVE BEEN FURTHERING MY PROGRESS. DAYS 5-11: I have to say that it took the physical therapist about 60 seconds to evaluate me on Monday and change my status so that I could get out of bed and walk as far as my oxygen feed line would allow, about 6 feet. From this point forward, things improved greatly. The staff at PAM is clearly well-trained and dedicated to providing the best care to their patients. I made every effort to work with them and achieve discharge as soon as possible. I will also say that the food was excellent during my stay - I cleaned my plate every time without fail. POST-DISCHARGE: On Day 10 of my admission, a Saturday, the pulmonologist in charge of my care gave me 2 options: discharge on Sunday with the understanding that some details would probably not be addressed until Monday, or stay an extra day, and everything could be taken care of properly for a smooth transition. I deferred to the doctor and stayed until Monday. Come Monday, my case manager informed me that a prescription had already been phoned in to my pharmacy, and I should be able to pick it up on my way home. When I stopped at the pharmacy, they had no record of the prescription, so I left a voice mail for my case manager, WHO NEVER GOT BACK TO ME. So I called her the next day, and reminded her of the conversation we'd had the prior day. She actually had the gall to deny that conversation ever took place, and was now telling me I had 13 prescriptions that had been sent. The conversation quickly deteriorated into a shouting match, and I was transferred to someone else at PAM, who was of no help. That person then transferred me back to the case manager, who by now realized that she had mistaken me for one of the other 2 patients she had released the same day. She also admitted that when the doctor tried submitting the prescription, he didn't have my SSN, and so was unable to send it over, EVEN THOUGH SHE SWORE HE HAD. Again, no apology offered. So to recap: 60 hours of unnecessary bed restriction, 8 days of excellent care, one unnecessary extra day of hospitalization to take care of details that weren't taken care of.

My wife went to Pam from the hospital and started in a regular room. In a couple of days, she was…read moreisolated and I was asked to wear a gown when I see her. No info just do it. It wasn't long and she was getting sicker by the hour. They talked about pneumonia and some other possibilities, but ended up on a ventilator. She was bad when she got there, but got worse in a hurry. I reached out to her doctor 3 times and didn't get a response. The last day there she was on a ventilator and being cleaned in the morning. Nurse told me they always clean them. I see her everyday First thing in the morning and at the end of the day. Never saw her cleaned. He also took a couple of meds off the IV saying that was routine. That afternoon I got a call that they had to send her to Centennial Hills ICU. When I got there 30 minutes later, they had started 3 support lines in her thigh. Main line for drugs, for blood pressure device and for kidney dialysis. In 30 minutes they got that info and started to treat. She was at PAM for 3 weeks to get this bad. I never got day to day updates as I don't believe they knew what was happening. The nurse was cleaning her that morning with no indication of how sick she was. On the ventilator you're sedated. Evidentially they removed the Propofol that morning and by the afternoon she hadn't responded yet. Usually you wake pretty quick from propofol. She arrived that day at the Centennial Hills ICU with 800 glucose-Sodium thru the roof very high, she needed blood as she had developed an internal bleed they hadn't found but she needed a transfusion. This was Tuesday late afternoon. She never regained consciousness. We decided to remove the life support and she passed peacefully Friday afternoon in the ICU. Never did hear from her Doctor who was also the doctor on the her board in her room at Centennial Hills. I Saw every specialist but the guy who was in charge. Nurse at PAM lied to me about what he was doing that morning. They had to be called in the middle of the night when she first got there to get assistance in her room. She Had breathing issues but could not get the nurse for over 2 hours. She called me and I called and got the head of nursing and got someone over there. She said they were rude to her. I found a cold reaction from most staff. They don't answer anything and always seem to be on guard. Her Death certificate states a medical term for undiagnosed infections as part of the cause. I don't recommend this place for anyone who needs real care. She never had therapy in 3 weeks so I can't rate that. There's a telltale thing I noticed right away. Staff at Centennial Hills were very accommodating. Going out of their way to be courteous and just plain nice. I was there all night the last couple of days and the nurse made sure I had privacy, food, drinks. They all were the same. My adult children came from out of town to see their mom and the nurses did the same for them. Pam Care you needed to call over and over. Sometimes go to the nurses station to get them. Night and day. Very disappointed with our choice to use PAM
