Always running into issues because of insurance. I found virtue totally by chance and i have to say this place has been a blessing, i suffer from alcoholism, acute psychosis, and severe depression. I checked in new years eve and immediately was received and treated with the utmost respect and compassion. Hard to believe this is a rehab. A wonderful woman named Kim kept watchful eye of me during my initial detox period and made sure i was ok (i cant even remember the first 4 days here). Every client or patient has a private room in a villa. The rooms could compete with the finest hotels honestly. All me meals are prepared by chefs and if you don't want whats on the menu tonight you simply ask and they'll prepare a special meal to accommodate you. From morning til night our days are full from group meetings to therapy sessions i really felt occupied in a really positive way. The WHOLE staff here is so completely engaged and caring, ask for anything within reason and they make it happen, no waiting hours for someone who doesn't know your name or care to come assist you. These people are top notch from the techs that make everything run smoothly to the amazing nurses and wonderful chef and staff literally i have no bad things to say. If you or a loved one suffers from mental health disorders or addiction i would recommend this place wholeheartedly. Getting the help i needed here was truly a blessing. They even handle your aftercare such as outpatient services to ensure you continue receiving care after you leave inpatient care. I was worried about after i left but my caseworker Kamisha made sure my transition back into the real world was seamless and stress free. I have to give a special note of appreciation to my therapist Stephen he was integral in my recovery. Truly educated, calm, and concerned about me. Part of me honestly didn't want to leave because i felt so safe here. But like every other patient here from all walks of life, i had to reintegrate back into the outside world and go and be a better dad, a better business owner, and a healthier me ready to take on the world.

(Let's just say I didn't lose any weight, and my appetite didn't suffer either). Unfortunately, I suffered a stroke, and though it was mild, the whole experience was scary. I'm just 68 years young...I was transferred to Encompass from Summerlin Hospital, and I had to work at learning how to use a walker and strengthen my muscles to be able to walk independently again, and to even learn how to dress myself again. Did I say, 'it was scary?'Gradually, my fears were alleviated, and everyone's kindness, compassion, patience, and cheerfulness, and humor even truly helped me adjust to my new state in life. I even had fun in the various therapies! I'm going home today, and I'm looking forward to continuing my therapies with home health services. The facility is beautiful in a Tuscan theme. The staff is amazing, they are the nicest empathetic group of people. The food is a good variety. The only qualm I have is my dad isn't able to feed himself and has been going without food. He won't ask for help because he doesn't want to bother anyone. I would recommend this facility to anyone and everyone. Thank you for taking the best care of my dad.

My 92-yearl-old dad stayed and rehabilitated at AHC (Sunset and Jones location) for a couple of…read moremonths. He had suffered stroke-like paralysis on one side for both his arm and leg. We thought his recovery was an extreme longshot at best. However, thanks to the truly superb staff, he was able to slowly but successfully regain his ability to walk as well as a lot of his abilities to be somewhat independent. This would not have been possible without the amazing medical assistants, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, wound care specialists, case managers and even their maintenance man. When dad first arrived, and for most of his stay, he was completely dependent on AHC staff for bathing, toileting, getting food, and all. The staff was so attentive, patient and understanding (he did get grumpy and stubborn at times as he was dealing with a lot of medical issues;-) They never missed a beat and motivated him to keep working hard and improving. Without hesitation, I highly recommend this AHC for rehab. A few names I must recognize: Himani, Jordan (therapists), Mary, Janet and Chanel (the CNA's), Luz the head nurse, her daughter the woundcare specialist (forgot her name:-) and Arnelle the maintenance man. Arnelle didn't even have anything to do with patient care, but he had such a positive, smiling and motivational presence and got to know our dad and kept him smiling and laughing on a daily basis which is hard to do when someone has just lost their independence and is in pain. A huge thank you to the entire team; they are really like a family.

There have been people who have worked here for years, who know people by name, and treat people as humans, not another nameless face. Physical and occupational therapy are really consistent in accomplishing realistic therapy goals for patients, really listening to individual therapy needs. Literally, I would just be naming every single therapist from physical and occupational therapy department to toot everyone's horn, and then suddenly this review would be too long lol. Activities with Batch and Rachel are excellent in engaging the residents. They are very happy and cheerful, and create activities that both residents and staff can engage in and build camaraderie. Many thanks to Julie for creating and maintaining a warm, active, and loving home for people who need short term care or extended care for longer stays. Shoutout to the nursing staff, from nurses to CNAs. My last night with everyone, I remember being upset about a situation and talking it out with staff and the excellent feeling of sisterhood and love that just rolled out. I'm going to miss those sleepless nights where I got to eat fruit sitting outside and talking with everyone who sat outside with me. Much love and positivity to everyone at College Park. My mother was transferred from Valley Hospital to College Park in late March of 2024. I went from the hospital to Valley and observed that the place was filthy! Being that mom only had Medicare we had no choice of where she would be taken for recovery. The very first night of her stay they found my mother on the floor and no one on staff knew how long she had been there!!!! She was taken back to the Hospital as she was going in and out of consciousness. She was exposed to covid there! That fall contributed to her passing as she got an infection because the feeding tube that was surgically inserted in stomach through her abdomen was partially dislodged and infected the tissue around the opening. My mother passed about two weeks later! Don't let the photos from 7 to 8 years old of this place fool you. It looks nothing like them! The night staff who are charged in caring for the patients in our situation FAILED MY MOTHER!!!

Great therapy (5 stars) but case management is less than stellar (2 stars.) Be prepared for…read moreconstant surprises and last-minute changes; constant reminders and checks are necessary. Our brother had a stroke in April 2024. We enrolled him in NCEP as a day patient, then transferred to the in-patient setting. The multi-pronged therapy seemed excellent, and he made great improvements. However, we were constantly being surprised by the case managers. They are either very overtasked (likely) or undertrained, and both we worked with never seemed to remember exactly which client they were talking about. The transfer from day to in-residence wasn't smooth; I don't know if the case managers talked at all. There is NO access to their supervisors, which became a huge issue for us. (None of us live in the Las Vegas area, which made communication even more challenging, although with email and phones it shouldn't be.) The transition out of NCEP was terrible. In the July progress meeting, the case manager had told us that our brother was doing great, and they loved having him in the program, and wanted him to continue for the foreseeable future. Less than a month later, we were asked what our long-term housing and transition plan was, because they wanted our brother to leave the program immediately. And the case manager had taken it upon herself to speak to our brother about living with one of us, which we'd already told her several times was NOT an option. She seems to have memory issues and poor note-taking skills. I then sent a sternly-worded email expressing our surprise, dismay, and unhappiness. We had an in-person meeting, where they explained that our brother's progress had slowed, and the intense therapy they offered was no longer appropriate. Which I completely understand, however, that's not what the case manager had previously told us. She also told us he couldn't stay in 1915i housing, which is NOT true. We agreed that he could move to a different location with less supervision, but the program housing is administered by the Nevada Medicaid 1915i provisions, not NCEP directly. They do not have the right to kick anyone out. At this point, I really wanted to speak with a supervisor, but that is impossible--there is no public listing available, and the case manager stonewalled us. Our brother remains in 1915i housing, and has actually made great progress all on his own. Because even though the NCEP case manager promised to transition him to day PT, Speech therapy and job counseling, she did NONE of that. She dropped him like a rock. The staff at the housing--who are awesome--had to start from scratch, and get referrals for all his therapy. Therefore, there was a break of almost 2 months in therapy, which should be unacceptable. Fortunately, our brother was self-motivated to improve his walking and reading on his own, and has done remarkably well. I believe the intense therapy NCEP provided gave him a good foundation. However, he might have done even better if the proper transition had occurred. I have to credit the staff at the housing, too. They are excellent. NCEP's case managers require a lot more training and supervision. And clients should have access to a supervisory level when things go wrong, because they will. I would not hesitate to use their services, but be prepared to advocate for your patient, because you'll need to. I recommend reviewing the Nevada Medicaid 1915i webpage, so that you know the law involved. And I hope that you're better prepared than we were for the lack of transition out of the program.
