    Super pedicure by Tyesha
    McKenna V.

This studio is interesting. I had a pedicure with Tyesha, which was a good experience. I then got a full set from Lily. They are pretty sanitary with good COVID practices such as masks, distancing, sneeze shields and disposable pedicure sets. However, everyone seems kind of bummed about being there and there's quite a bit of drama. I'll go back if Tyesha is still working there... Otherwise I'm not sure.

Fill-in with gel - too uneven and thick - did not round them as requested
    Kasey R.

I went in for a fill-in with gel. It wasn't busy, and the nail stylist who worked with me rushed and my nails are way too thick and uneven. I paid for them ($38), but I won't be back.

    Week old gel nails.

I am not impressed. They did assist me immediately upon walk-in so I do appreciate that. I received a mani and pedi with gel. A week later and the gel is peeling off. The application was not equally distributed for the mani and it's obvious.

trying to fix the mess up. with no success

Best nail salon in Hinesville by far. You may have to wait from time to time but its definitely worth it.

My nails were three weeks old, and I had two broken nails--one had completely come off the week before, and another was lifting. When the nail came off, I noticed that part of my natural nail underneath had turned brown. I was already planning to bring this to their attention when I came in for my appointment. While I was explaining the situation to the nail technician, another employee sitting to his right asked what was going on. After he explained it to her, she told me that I needed to "cover my nails" because water could get underneath them. I was confused and asked what she meant. Was I supposed to cover my nails while showering or washing my hands after using the bathroom? The technician then told me my nails were "too old" and that I needed to have them removed and get a new set. Keep in mind, I had gotten this set at this same salon only THREE WEEKS AGO. I asked the price for a new set, and he told me $95. At that point, I didn't have a problem paying for a new set. However, once he started removing the artificial nails, we discovered brown/green discoloration on FIVE of my natural nails. What bothered me most was the response. Instead of showing concern, explaining what could have happened, or even offering an apology for the situation, the technician started shaking his head and saying that I had gotten water underneath my nails. He and the other employee continued talking as though I had caused the problem because my nails were "old" and lifting. Yet the nails that had been lifting were not even the ones with the discoloration. The other employee also told me that this had "never happened before with any customer." Maybe it hasn't, but it happened to ME. I've been getting my nails done for years. I've gone longer than three weeks between appointments before and have never experienced anything like this. I understand that lifting can allow moisture to get underneath artificial nails, and I'm not claiming to know exactly what caused the discoloration. What I do know is that these nails were applied at this salon only three weeks earlier, and when a concerning issue appeared on FIVE of my natural nails, I expected professionalism, concern, and accountability, not attitude and immediate blame. I ultimately decided not to let them put another set of nails on me because of the way the situation was handled. I'm also someone who tips very well when I receive services here. I have tipped the people who have done my nails and toes even when something wasn't perfect because I believe in showing appreciation for someone's work. Unfortunately, after today's experience, Fancy Nails will not receive another penny from me. Mistakes and problems can happen in any business. What determines whether a customer returns is HOW you handle the problem. A simple apology, some genuine concern, and a respectful conversation would have gone a long way. There was absolutely no accountability today, and that is what lost me as a customer.

I tried this place 3 times before I realized I don't want to spend anymore money at this location. My first visit was for their grand opening. My boyfriend and I were received right away which was really nice considering how busy they were. I requested a gel American manicure and pulled up a picture of what I wanted. However, the tech who was very friendly and spoke a decent amount of English did inform me that they did not have the base color for an American manicure. He did not turn on the light which was odd to me because I feel if you're going to do nails you need a good look at the nail bed and what you're doing.. anyways I walked away with a French manicure. Wasn't the worst I've seen but definitely not the best. Second time I went in I came mid day so they weren't busy at all. The guy who did my nails was different this time so I was hoping the service would be better. He also did not do as I requested. I asked specifically for a clear polish and he replied something along the lines of no clear, but pink. I bit my tongue and hoped that the color he would be using would suffice. It did not. He used the pink base coat typically used for French manicures. I do believe the language barrier played a big role in me not getting the service I wanted. For my third and final visit, it was the same guy. I asked for a French manicure this time. He asked me white tip and I was excited so I said yes. However when it came to the nail service, he did not ask me about shape, length or base color. His work is sloppy and I feel he was not trained properly. Towards the end he filed my nails leaving the dust behind without cleaning much of it off proceeded to massage my hands with the lotion. I have white gel leftover on my fingertips. He did not properly cut my cuticles off and would sometimes get too close to the healthy skin at which point I experienced pain. I will be returning to my hunt of a decent nail salon in Long county ):

Exterior Located in the plaza / strip with Lucke Furniture…read more I decided to stop in here because I'd just had breakfast / lunch at Wrap Happy. Interior Definitely an older plaza, so the interior is what one would expect, but it looked clean. I didn't check out the inspection score because I just needed a polish change (toes). Customer Service When I walked in, there was one woman doing a pedicure. She scowled at me but offered no greeting. The gentleman at the desk smiled and asked how he could help. After telling him what I wanted, he directed me to go wash my hands and pick out a nail color. (I'm still not sure why all nail salons are asking patrons to wash their hands if they are not going to actually work on your hands. Maybe it has to do with handling cash or credit cards.) Once the technician (who I think is also the owner, Kim) got to work on me - she was actually quite friendly. So I'm not sure why she scowled at me initially - lol. She told me I looked tired / sleepy. Gotta love the brutal honesty of Asian ladies. Lol. We did have some language barrier issues but Google's handy dandy English to Vietnamese translator took care of all that. And I genuinely appreciate her telling me the names of the 2 salons I could go to get my underarms waxed. (They only wax facial hair - brows, jawline, upper lips - because they don't have a private room.) I have never gone to a nail salon for a polish change and gotten such bare bones service. She cleaned my nails, did a base coat, applied two coats of polish and no top coat. Once she was done, she did apply any cuticle oil - which is something all reputable salons do simply because the acetone in the nail polish they just used is gonna make cuticles and surrounding area ashy and dry looking. Price / Value Ok. So if I'd just had the bad polish experience, I'd probably just give a 3 star rating because I genuinely hate giving anything less than 3 stars but the reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because when it was time to checkout, they charged me $15 for a polish change instead of the price that was posted: $10. When I asked to explain the discrepancy, the gentleman started to talking to me about the gel polish change prices ($25). This was completely irrelevant because I did not have gel polish (removed or applied). The credit card machine was not working (there's a sign on the door advising that they're taking cash app and zelle, etc, instead) so I paid and left without arguing. I'm not sure what's up with both Wrap Happy (neighboring tenant) and the Nail Salon not having the correct prices listed, but it's super disappointing and it's also HIGHLY illegal. I was thinking of visiting the Pho restaurant in the same plaza, but my experiences with these two spots made me nix that decision. Businesses can be reported and fined by their local business license office for this type of practice and I've even seen customers at nail salons in Atlanta have the police called on them (by owner) because of price discrepancies. And when the police arrived, they made the owners honor the prices posted on the wall. Overall Overall, this should be a 1 star (substandard service and pricing discrepancy), but I just don't feel comfortable rating them 1 star when their overall Yelp rating is already so low. I wish them the best, but I would never go back and do not recommend.
