I came here in November of last year looking for a retwist while with my friends, and they dared me to come in. I wish I never did. Not only was the lady who performed the retwist (Veronica) extremely unprofessional with her job, she was speaking bad about her coworkers, berating them in Jamaican Kriol for voting for trump, calling her Mexican coworkers slurs and even saying she hates them and they are gay. Two of my dreads fell out after I went here, and most of them are thinning at the root. Veronica doesn't know how to do hair at all, at the end of the retwist she dumped the remainder of the hair gell unto my head, and she didn't even dry my damn hair. I had to go all the way to Big Johns Barber Shop and Have them dry it. She even made me uber her home!!!Waste of my time and money and just unbelievable service. Extremely disappointed, I advise you stay away from here especially if Black because this place does not know how to do hair properly, Working with my hair with a metal gun when i never asked to. My barber worked pretty far away from my home and office so it was difficult to get to him most of the time. He was the only one who really cut my hair well and it was dope to go to the same person and have them hook you up! But, he moved to the Bay so I had to look for a new one. Luxxor is a mile or so away form my office so I stopped by to try it out. Glad I did! Jairo was really chill. Easy to talk to and obviously really into his work. Being bi-racial, it's difficult to find a barber who REALLY knows how to cut my hair. I've gone to floyds and other chains and they cut my hair in 10 minutes and when I get home and wash my hair I can tell immediately that it's all jacked up at different lengths and just sloppy.... but Jairo hooked me up. It's nice to see the barber pay close attention to detail and comb you're hair just to make sure that everything is the right length. He also did an awesome job on my facial hair. Super close attention to detail. Was also nice to chat and have cool conversation.... it's so awkward when you're barber doesn't talk. I left feeling like a million bucks! Sal, a stylist in this salon is the only person I let touch my hair. He is a perfectionist that will spend hours on your hair, making sure that it looks lovely and that it is exactly what you want. As a biracial girl, people sometimes get intimidated by my hair, but not Sal. He does things with a blow dryer that others have needed a dryer, hot comb and flat iron to do!!!! Also Sal is my brow. LOL. This means, no one can or ever will be able to touch my brows again. I cheated a fews times and I regret it. He cleans them up but really leaves them fuller for that hollywood glam look. He knows whats hot! You should see his brows... they are bomb! I'm kind of jealous! As for the salon.... it's not a little posh spot. No fancy chandliers and damask print wallpaper BUT both Sal and the owner (Jairo) do fabulous work. Also, a lot of their clientele appears to be columbian.... meaning they can work with all different hair types. Also the prices cannot be beaten so forsure check them out!!!! read more

I have been going to Luxxor for many years now and I have referred many of my friends to Jairo. He is very professional and knowledgeable about the products (which he uses the best) and he has the best customer service. He makes you feel super special. I stopped going to him because I live in Quartz Hill and he is now in Van Nuys but boy do I regret it. Not only was expensive, but the owner of the salon damaged my hair completely and i didn't mind paying his prices because I thought it was a prestigious salon. I went back to Jairo and I'm happy now and I'm not changing hairdressers ever again no matter how far Jairo moves, I will always follow him whatever he goes. 5 stars for Luxxor and Jairo. Go see Jairo for anything! He will give you fabulous hair. Maximilliano also has the Midas touch, and is truly a superb colorist and stylist. The salon is clean and comfortable, the prices are reasonable, an they're the only guys I know who can give you exactly the same color you bring them in a magazine while letting you relax to some coffee and cool music. Jairo is thee best colorist in the valley! I'm a very picky and hard to satisfy kind of customer because I want what I want and for some reason it tends to be hard for anyone, but Jairo to do. I bought hair extensions and wanted to match my hair (which was ombre at the time) to the extensions (4/brown) I first went to another girl who got it wrong ...twice! Total waste of money and time which is very important to me having a 9 month old. I came to Jairo's salon because it's so close to my house, not only did he get the color spot on the first time, he was very inexpensive for both coloring and beading them in AND he was quick! I moved to LA three years ago and it was hard trying to find a decent hair stylist...I'm so grateful for Jairo because now I don't have to settle. He's amazing at what he does.
