Originally purchased by the Gorman family in 1967 for $5,000 (the price of a Caddy at the time) in order to draw-in visitors to their farm. They held a contest that year to name her and the winner was "Three-O-Nina" (named after the 309 Highway she's situated next to) and they received a brand-new color TV! She is now currently owned, and maintained, by the Krugel family, who owns Krugel's Deli & Beer next door. Nina is one of those fun roadside attractions that one must stop to visit when traveling through Central PA. After all in 2010 she was named in Parade Magazine's top roadside attraction in PA! I particularly enjoy silly things like this―as it always puts me in good mooood. Sorry. I had to go there... ;-p

In 1853, Gildersleeve testified in a US Supreme Court Case, Maxwell vs Righter, in which a fugitive, William Thomas, was shot and wounded by U.S. marshals. The case and his testimony received national attention, especially in African American newspapers." Gildersleeve Street is the one-way street to the right of the fire department.

They remained standing throughout the show. I kept hoping a representative of Kirby would make an announcement saying that people need to remain seated. People around us were disappointed as well. We were under the impression that we could sit and watch the show in that beautiful center. I give 5 stars for Collective Soul's performance but sadly, only 2 stars for the Kirby center for allowing people to stand and block people's view of the stage.

TERRIBLE place to see rock shows. I'm not 95yo I want to stand, clap, cheer...not sit silently during a show like I'm catatonic. The Opera house in Wilkes Barre was absolutely beautiful with friendly staff and reasonable prices. It sucked that everyone HAD to sit the whole time. Not a very good rock vibe at all just sitting watching. Every time anyone stood up to get a drink or go to the bathroom it ruined your view because we were made to sit. Devour the day was great. Sleep Theory was absolutely AMAZING! They were the real stars of the show. The crowd went absolutely amazing for them! The sound and vocals were just as good as on the radio and YouTube. Daughtry was just okay. So many people got up and left when Sleep Theory went off stage. More people got up and left waiting for Daughtry to set up and take stage. After the 2nd Daughtry song even more people left obstructing our view of the stage even more because we were seated like we were watching a band in a retirement home. We left after 4 songs because our view was so obstructed by so many other people leaving. We gave up. I'd go back yo watch an opera or a play, but NEVER for a rock show again.

My mom was a big fan of the milk - she bought 2 bottles. There was live music by the outdoor seating area, which was such a nice vibe to sit and enjoy ice cream with the family. We ended up going back the next day in the morning so we could see the animals, we walked around the barn and visited the cows, the goats, the alpacas. The kids loved it...we did too. Good customer service. Place is neat and tidy. Today when I went for renewal on a Saturday afternoon, I was expecting a huge crowd but the place was practically empty so was in and out in less than 30 minutes. They have ample parking spots too. Fair warning: The place does get super crowded sometimes on a weekday morning/afternoon. So be prepared to wait for upto 1 hour.

Seriously, it was a big deal. The casino launched without a hotel, but over the years, it expanded, adding a hotel, more restaurants, and other amenities. For those first few years, this place was hopping--run like a well-oiled machine thanks to Bobby Soper, always clean, always busy, and a solid selection of restaurants and bars to enjoy between donating to the Mohegan tribe. Fast forward to now, and wow... what a fall from grace. I stopped by a few times on a recent trip, and Mohegan PA is barely a shell of what it used to be. First glaring issue? No valet parking. Why? I'm sure they'll blame COVID, but come on--at least bring it back on weekends when the place is actually busy. Speaking of busy, unless you're here on a Friday or Saturday night, the casino is a ghost town. During the week, I could have done cartwheels through the aisles without disturbing a soul. But come Saturday? It's so packed you can't even find an open machine to play. The extremes are wild. And those slot machines... yikes. I swear this must be where all the old, retired machines from their other casinos come to spend their final days. The games are outdated, some displays have screen burn-in, and several machines have broken buttons. There are even sections where machines have just been removed, leaving empty spaces with stanchions. It looks neglected. Food & Drink? Hit or miss. The buffet? Gone--another casualty of COVID, I assume. The Irish bar? Dead every time I walked by. The food court? It felt like stepping into a deserted 90s mall--bleak and lifeless. Unless you're planning to splurge at Ruth's Chris or Rustic Kitchen, your dining options are... well, depressing. Oh, and speaking of depressing - the plants in the planters outside Ruth's Chris... they're dead. Literally. And let's talk about the center bar experience. Living in South Florida, I frequent the Hard Rock casinos, and let me tell you, those absolutely blow this place away--newer machines, better game variety, cleaner spaces, solid food and drink options.
