We hired Knight Construction this past summer to complete a total kitchen remodel project with…read morecustom cabinets, new hardwood fooring and the resurfacing an old brick fireplace with stone. We asked Knight if they could complete the work in just six short weeks as my family (my husband and three kids under the age of five) were moving into a small apartment for three months due to timing differences in our close dates. They accommodated the request with the caveat that the bulk of the work would be completed by move in and that finishing/warranty work may need to extend another week or two. Upon signing the contract, we immediately began working with Kristin, the designer, to ensure fixtures, flooring and other items were selected and available upon closing on the new home. The day after signing the close papers, the dumpster was delivered and Jeff our project manager began demolition with his crew. I won't tell you that the project was seemless in every instance and without a couple of minor glitches. But I can tell you that in ever instance, Gary and team worked with us immediately to either remedy the issue or help us find the best solution to accommodate our budget concerns and ensure our move in date wasn't jeopardized. Over the past 10 years, we have remodeled two homes and built a third. I have used three different Companies for each of these projects and I would without question hire Knight Construction back to do another project. Over the short few months we worked with Gary and his team, he always kept his word and remedied situations that weren't up to either his quality or ours, which were minimal. I appreicated the fact that three months after the project, I'm still able to call and ask him to look at something I think got missed in the warranty period. When we decided that we needed a new driveway, we did not even know where to begin, being that we…read morewere new home owners. A friend of ours gave us Brad's (ICF Construction) name. We gave him a call and he answered and was the most professional and trustworthy guy we could have asked for. Brad answered all our questions honestly, and most importantly, worked with us about our idea and put it into the end product. One of the most beautiful things on our remodel is the stamped concrete pattern he did for us, and the rest of the concrete driveway. Our home is above the street level, and so the driveway is the very first thing you notice and it is amazing. He took the time to really understand what we wanted and after he and his team (a great team he has as well) were done, we were more than pleased. His does quality work. He doesn't cut corners. He knows his product inside and out. I recommend Brad (ICF Construction) to all of you who want a caring and understanding person to accomplish what you wish in a timely and professional manner.

We hired Brad and ICF to repair a front porch that spans 40 feet of our house (it had raised on the…read morefront side leading to improper drainage), replace a damaged sidewalk with a stamped and colored sidewalk, and install an apron in front of the garage when we had a new asphalt driveway installed. Brad and crew did a stellar job with the sidewalk, and had to MacGiver a solution with the forms he had in order to create to look we were after. All went well until the winter, when the concrete on the apron started to fail (the top coat of the broomed surface pitted significantly and chipped away). Brad came out the following spring to inspect the apron, had the concrete supplier come out to try to figure out what had happened. They were unable to determine a cause, as the other surfaces (sidewalk and porch) did not have the same problem. However, Brad guaranteed the work and he and his crew tore out the entire apron (10 feet deep and three garage stalls wide) and replaced it with a new one. They also resealed the sidewalk at no cost. Excellent work. Fast forward two years.....I contacted Brad to get information on the type of sealer I should apply to the sidewalk and other surfaces. He provided me with information on the different types that should be used (different types for the stamped concrete and the broomed surfaces), and emailed me links on the products he suggested. Two months later he contacted me to see if I had sealed the sidewalk yet. When I informed him that I had not, he offered to come out and do it for me. Two weeks after that we came home to a newly sealed sidewalk......at no cost to us. Our experience with Brad has been nothing but positive and would highly recommend his work.

Kristiaan is, hands down, the best contractor you will find in the Twin Cities. My husband was…read morecatastrophically injured in an accident and we were told we need to move somewhere that can accommodate his wheelchair and other disability needs. Very expensive. When we reached out to Kristiaan to ask if he could help us remodel our kitchen, he not only agreed to give us a quote without charge, he also came to our house and taped out the entire design on the floor, no charge. None of the other contractors were willing to put in that kind of time and effort without a guarantee that they would get the job. Kristiaan not only worked with the IKEA plans we had designed, but he further figured out the engineering required to support the large, open span that we had to have suspended over my husband's wheelchair. Everything you see in the photos is brand new and done by Kristiaan. What you don't see is that, on the other side where we already had IKEA cabinets, he moved the entire cabinet run over and built a stabilized support for our new kitchen sink. He also worked with the countertop installers to get us the cutouts that we needed, and recommended the best outlet/lighting system for us. And when IKEA dropped the ball and failed to deliver the promised toekicks, Kristiaan developed a workaround and personally went to IKEA to pick them up for us. A good friend of mine who is a luxury home builder in the Twin Cities said that Kristiaan basically fulfilled the idea of "aging in place" that is extremely popular now. Instead of moving to a "senior" type development, hire Kristiaan instead to make over your current home into your dream home.
