I love getting massages from Michele. She is warm friendly and very attentive I would love to do a two hour massage with her read more

I had an amazing $35 foot massage for 30 minutes and it came with a hot stone massage too at the end. Amazing! These folks know how to give a good massage. Me and hubby are happy we stopped by randomly after dim sum. The staff were very kind and polite. One of them even offered a towel for my daughter to be comfortable while she waited for me. They offered us a bottle of water after the massage. They timed our massages as well and confirmed our massage time in advance. Very professional. This is a no frills establishment and I'm used to this as well as someone who gets massages regularly. They used Vaseline for the massage. My hamstrings felt looser after the massage. read more

After days of a lot of walking while on vacation, my friends and I decided to get a massage. We happened to stop by here and glad we did. It is a small shop with 3 workers . We came with 4, even though one of us had to wait, it was worth the wait. 2 of us did a foot massage and the gentleman did a great job on me. I will come back again if I ever visit again read more

It was a good massage. But I have a little story; I want all to be prepared because I was not. It was a process to get into the building. Sign said open but I guess thy lock the doors when they are performing other massages inside. You are not paying for an aromatherapy experience so make sure you are aware of that. When I requested the massage I asked for the $60 massage. They were accommodating, requested that I pay prior to service. Cash only, which is fine I was prepared. After the massage 3 of the therapists joined in the room with me as I prepared to leave. I handed the girl $10 as a tip & proceeded to the Door. The conversation started getting a bit louder between them & they told me that the required tip was $20. I asked them where this was stated & they seemed to not understand what I was saying but continued to tell me that I was not to leave until I paid them $20. I figured it was easier to pay them so I could get out of there. They made what was at the beginning a relaxing experience, very uncomfortable read more

Ok, after a long day of walking and looking at hotels (for work purposes), I decided to get a foot massage. Sketchy entrance. Had to ring the door bell and wait for her to unlock her door (about 2pm on a Monday). She was nice. I wanted 60 mins and she kept saying 30min. Ok, we will go with that. She had me recline on the chair, pulled out the Vaseline, she put on rubber gloves and actually gave me a good foot massage. She didn't talk to me at all. Turned on the tv to an interesting possibly Korean soap opera. I was intrigued. After I pulled out her tip, $15, she did a great job, she kind of perked up and was actually polite and asked if I wanted water and gave me her business card. She looked like she had a rough day. I don't know. Maybe someone was rude to her. But I went for a foot massage and left with more pep in my step. Would definitely go back to her. read more

I went here in shoulder pain distress after a short flight into Philly. The decor is not up to date but the rooms ad linens were clean (I am stickler for this) and the place smelled nice. The massage therapist was highly skilled and helped me pinpoint the source of my upper left arm pain which was not in my neck or my shoulder but under my armpit. #themoreyouknow I would definitely go back again. read more

Ly Jen is home to the best massage I've had in Philly. David is a gem. No better way to spend $40 or $60. Since leaving Philly, Ly Jen is one of the places I miss most. Also the hours are so good! You can get a massage at night then go out after all relaxed, or go right to bed!! Cash only and required tip is part of the experience, OK? Embrace it. read more

When we arrived for our appointment, we were told "cash only" & pointed to an ATM up the street. When we returned from the ATM, we were told we had to pay first, which I did. The massages were good. Afterwards, I went to tip & was told I needed to tip them $20 each because the $120 I'd already paid for the massages went to "the boss" & they only got to keep the tip. They had to use a translation app for communication due to language barrier. All in all, the massage was good, but I would not go back given the rest of the circumstances made me uncomfortable. read more

CAUTION! They wouldn't let you leave unless you pay 20% tip and 8% credit card "processing fee". If I had the time I would have called the police on them. The massage was average. read more

No frills, very good massage, some language barriers and background talking but. All in all the best place for an affordable massage in Philly. Always leave here in a good mood and very very relaxed! read more

Good massage, small place, call ahead - we got lucky and I got even luckier cos I got David. I found a lot of the massage places round here want payment in advance and add the tip at the beginning. We were here 3 years ago and probably will return. My only gripe is too much chatter between the therapists. Need some quiet please. read more

Massage is okay, nothing spectacular. There is a language barrier, but when it comes to tip, staff is able to clearly explain and will Impose a 30% tip. Possibly a common practice in the city with this type of business. One less thing to do here in Philly. read more

Holy spider monkey! Stopped in here randomly because my pregnant friend was feeling sore and tired from a weekend walking around the city. The lady that did my massage was no joke. She had the strength of a 400 pound man in her tiny little hands. It also felt at times like she had octopus arms, cracking and stretching my neck and back in the most glorious ways. Stop by here and see for yourself! read more

Fantastic foot massage, came with family members, they accommodated three of us with no notice, we will all come back.

Ly Jen is an absolute massage gem in Chinatown. If you're looking for an EXCELLENT massage at very affordable prices, this is your place. I've been here more times than I can count and have always just walked in (and never had to wait more than 15-20 min.). Every therapist I've had has been incredibly skilled and I always walk out feeling so relaxed I could fall over. This is not the place to go if you're looking for a luxurious spa experience, but if you want a great massage without having to plan ahead or spend over $100 for an hour (it's only $50 here), then this is your place. Bring cash as they charge a processing fee for credit cards and do not have an ATM on-site. Other than that, relax and enjoy! read more

This place is so icky, rude, and shady. They didn't change the mat on the table, the masseuse sneezed into his hands during the massage and didn't was his hands. Also they cut my massage short by 15 min and wanted Payment for the full massage plus a mandatory 20%tip that they told me after the fact. Oh, and they change another 6$ to use a credit card! I went in for a massage, there wasn't a fresh sheet on the table. That should have been my first sign. The massage started and it was going ok. I told the masseuse the area I wanted worked on and he kind of worked on it, but not really. During the massage he sneezed into his hands twice and continued to massage me like nothing happened. Wash your hands!!!! 75 min into the 90 min massage, he informed me it was time, and then proceeded to charge for the full 90 min. I figured I wouldn't make a stink of it at that time because I just wanted to get the hell out of there. When I went to pay, he said that there was a mandatory 20% tip. I told him he didn't do the full 90 min and didn't work on the area I repeatedly requested and that that this was shady. He called me cheap and it devolved from there. There are plenty of great massage places in the city- healing arts collective and balance chiropractic for example- I'll be avoiding this place, and recommend you do the same. read more

Holy cow this place is amazing! So after shopping at Ikea with a stiff neck, I decided enough was enough- I need to find a small massage joint to have the kinks in my neck worked out. The place did seem a bit shady when I first walked in but I can assure you, it's not. I asked for 30 mins and (before tip) paid $30. Worth every penny!!!!! I asked the woman to focus solely on my back and neck.. which she did. The pressure of the massage was comparable to a deep tissue! For the price it was amazing. Honestly I can't wait to come back for perhaps an hour and have my whole body done. 5 stars for fast, efficient and friendly workers! read more

I got the best massage of my life at this place. My husband & I went on a whim after my orthopedist suggested some deep tissue work. It was 6:30 on a Thursday with no appointment, so it had to be a spot in Chinatown. I've been strolling by this place for years with some curiosity, so we figured we may as well check it out. There are a million and one aches and pains that make me not want to get out of bed in the morning. This morning they're gone. It's amazing. I do hot yoga on the reg, smoke some dank Indicas & take the occasional muscle relaxer & I'm still stiff as f*ck. It's unpleasant. My psoas & hips are tight, I have a knot in my left shoulder that's been messing up my game for over 10 years. I feel amaze after an hour in this place. It might be the best $50 I've ever spent. Yeah, that's no typo- $50 for an hour of bliss- WTF are you waiting for? I suppose I should mention some necessary details. Don't go here if your pampered & precious & made of glass. This place is straight Asia style. It's not some "serenity now" environment. The walls are paper... literally. So you can hear dude next to you. But whatevs, it Thailand they lay you out on the floor like a row of corpses. Deal with it. There are no whale sounds or waves crashing or bells & incense. It's clean & convenient with 3 people who are there to kick some stress ass. Anyway, I'm never going anywhere else for massage in Philadelphia ever again. read more

Love it here. My friend recommended it. $30 for 30 minutes. The massage was fantastic and I was disappointed when my time was up. I'm definitely going back and recommending to everyone! read more

15 minutes $20 30 minutes $30 45 minutes $40 60 minutes $50 This is a no frills massage place in china town. Family run type of establishment (don't worry about walking in and interrupting the TV watching over tea in the front of the store). The massage beds are clean (or at least they look that way covered in white towels) and Zhen Zhen, my massage therapist, did a good job. I felt relief and she was strong, so I left a happy customer. read more

Very friendly staff. Was able to take my friend and I for a same day appointment with just half an hour notice. Had the 45 minute massage for $50. Definitely worth it, got out knots I didn't even know I had, I'll definitely be back. read more

Took a chance on this place as we were visiting from out of town. Awesome foot and back massage. $60 for one hour. Plus $10 tip. Very worth it. Highly recommend. Just have to get through their poor English but don't let that stop you. My feet feel like a million bucks!! read more

So I went here based on the reviews on Yelp expecting bare minimum. When I got there it was better than I expected. Like others said, don't expect an elegant spa experience. It was clean enough, very thin walls if any, and the staff talked among themselves even during your services. And I definitely heard the TV going LOL. But nonetheless, as soon as I walked in I was greeted and serviced. Granted it was empty ;). I went during my lunch break. My service was by a woman she never gave her name, I didn't ask either. I tried to explain to her what I wanted but I could tell she couldn't respond back. Communication barrier. I wanted deep tissue on back and neck only. She did just that. She was very strong and got most the lumps in my back area and but very little attention on my neck. She gave a quick hot stone massage at the end and offered water when done. When I was finish and attempting to pay, I tried to talk to her about my back and what other massages would help me or what she thought and how often I should come back but she couldn't understand anything I was saying. She just looked at me in a blank stare. When it was time to pay she informed me of a $2.50 service charge for credit?! WHY and WHO does that anymore?! So while I was seeing if I had enough cash in my wallet, she quickly reminded me that with a $30 service its usually a $6 tip?! Ooooh so now you understand and communicate.... Excuse me Ms., I know what 20% is on a service. You don't have to tell me as I'm paying, how much I need to spend on a tip that's considered optional. That is up to customer to decide depending on the quality of services. I thought that was quite rude actually and I taking back. I ended up paying the surcharge and leaving her a $5 tip bc of the comment and small lack of customer service/communication. I thought about not leaving a tip at all or $3.50 and they can cover the rest with the surcharge LOL. But she did work hard and did an okay job, I couldn't do it. But I doubt I will go back there. read more

This is my first time here but definitely not a first for massage. I believe I know good massage when I get one ... and Jen Jen did great! I just finished off running a half marathon yesterday and today, my body told me that loud and clear. ....The massage was very deep and painful but a good thing in this case. I definitely felt I got my hours worth of massage. I give it 4 stars because I had to deal w/ the tv noise in the background. Even though I don't care for luxury atmosphere, at least I hope for some soothing music. Nonetheless, I will go back. read more

3-Stars. A-Ok. Ly Jen is a hole in the wall type massage store at the southeastern edge of Chinatown. The workers there are solid at providing a relaxing time and helping to work out some tight muscles. Great! So why not a higher rating? You get what you pay for... this is a low cost massage parlor that can help you unwind a bit, however it is far from a full-service massage therapy location, nor do you get the variety of in types of 'massages' that you would like (e.g., deep tissue, swedish, etc.) Overall, If you're in the local area and looking for a massage, this may suit your needs. However, I wouldn't go out of my way to come visit this place. read more

Amazing 60minute body massage with my boyfriend with same day appointment. They definitely know what they're doing! Will come again

So yes the price is great. $40 for 45 minutes massage. However, I don't appreciate a place who forces a tip on me. She said I had to pay 20 percent tip, and I said "not that what a tip means". The massage was fine and a little rough but I wasn't complaining until they tried to force me to pay a specific tip, which rubbed me the wrong way of course. I will not be returning. read more

A great massage at a reasonable price. Exactly what I needed after several days at a tradeshow. The staff was nice and the pressure was perfect. The hot stones were an unexpected, but much appreciated touch. If you're looking for an Aveda spa, this isn't for you, but if you want to have those knots worked out and still have money leftover for Dim Sum, Ly Jen is your place. read more

Really enjoyed the massage! Hands down the best among all other places I v tried in philly. If you want the real deal for a deep tissue - not the kind with light stroke, essential oils and luxury candles - then this is it! read more

I got a thirty minute massage and it surpassed my expectations, definitely going back!

We have had many massages and these girls do great massages! They know what they are doing and got all the right spots.

I tried Ly Jen Therapy Salon today for the first time and I have to say it was one of the best 30 min massage I have ever had!! Went here because my back was really bothering me however, when I left Ly Jen I was pain free!! Cannot wait to go back!!! read more

I got the 60 minute full body massage. It was well done. This is a strip-down-to-your-undies place. For what it is I gave it 4 stars. Now I didn't know that the tip WILL BE 20% of your price AND there is a $4 processing fee for using a Visa or MC (that's all they accept) :/ First time in Chinatown getting a massage, all places are priced the same. I just wonder if these "fees" are the same everywhere read more

Great foot & back massage! Not fancy but for the price, wonderful! 45 minutes of massage for $40.00, well worth it. The gentleman giving the massage defiantly knew what he was doing and relieved the tension in my neck & back. My feet felt relaxed and invigorated! Will be back read more

Amazing amazing amazing & you really can't beat these prices. The lady who did my massage even used hot stones at the end, which I've never had before. I'll definitely be back! read more

Amazing massage ! I will definitely be back again! All of my kinks and sore lower back were immediately fixed. Reasonable price.

I tweaked my back at work and went here during my half hour lunch. I did the 15 minutes for $20 massage. It was probably the best massage I ever had. At times it was painful, in a good way. I will definitely go back soon for a longer massage. read more

High quality for a low cost. As others have said, this is not the most relaxing environment but the massages itself, especially if you suffer from pain, far outweigh any noise inconveniences. Both Ly Jen and David are strong, they listen to your complaints, and help to work through any of the issues using pressure, hot stones or medical oil as needed. I've been to other more expensive massage places in the city and I would still come back here any day. Best thing is that you can almost always walk in and have no issues finding a spot. Highly recommended. read more
