After roughly 20 years loyalty to this company, I am letting consumers know that this company has gone straight into the toilet in terms of customer service. I have a suspicion their revolving door of brokers may have something to do with that as all the previous brokers who I used to deal with there, most of whom were super lovely, amicable, knowledgeable, and most importantly, helpful, are all long gone. What you get when you call now are terse, rude, ignorant, and LAZY brokers who cannot answer simply questions nor are they willing to work with you to make your coverage affordable but will instead deflect their apathy at you with condescension and snide comments all the while trying to get you to quit using their company's insurance. I called and asked to speak with the president of the company and was refused the privilege. I had to deal with a nightmare broker with a horrible attitude instead. I think I see now why this company is hemorrhaging employees. If these brokers don't insult the living daylights out of you on the phone, they will most certainly see to it that they make your blood boil on top of OVERINSURING your insured item. I literally just found out today from another brokerage who reviewed my policy, that I am paying for something on my policy that a) I didn't ask for, b) I didn't even realize was on my policy, and c) I would have put to use instead of paying for the same service out of pocket several times because I was unaware this thing in my policy had been added on without my knowledge or consent. This company is snaky and shady. I'll assume this type of bad faith business is a top down issue, given that I wasn't even allowed to speak to the guy who owns the company. What a shame. This company used to be great. You're better off finding another broker if you must use a broker for your insurance needs. No wonder why wonderful women like Pati Perez and Janet Carter no longer work at Lyddy Martin. They were too caring, too polite, and too good at listening for a company like this. read more

I had a recent loss and the insurance company reimbursed me for some but not all of my claim for out-of-pocket expenses. When my policy came up for renewal months later, I called my longtime agent Lyddy Martin to see if there was a way to update my policy so that the disallowed part of the loss would be covered in the future. Customer rep Monique explained to me the obscure reason that some of my claim hadn't been paid. Then she said she would get in touch with my carrier to see what could be done. Two weeks later Monique told me that she had talked to an adjuster at the company who had agreed to reopen my claim. I got an additional check that covered the rest of my claim! We count on our independent insurance agents to find us the best coverage at the best price. But Monique went above and beyond and got me a payment even my lawyer couldn't get after several billable hours. Thank you, Monique, and thanks Lyddy Martin. read more
