The group chose St. V\incent de Paul, patron saint of the poor for their name and under the guidance of Sister Rosalie Rendu, they increased the number of people they were able to help. Volunteers of the organization are called Vincentians. The charity spread from France to Europe. In 1845 they established in St. Louis, Missouri. The organization is now world wide in 150 countries with 750,000 members. Every year across the country the St. Vincent De Paul Society provides 1.4 billion in aid to more than 4 million people every year. There are two St. Vincent de Paul thrift stores in Broward, one in Pompano and this one in Ft. Lauderdale. Some of the donated items are given to needy individuals and the rest are sold to the community in the thrift stores to fund their outreach programs. At this store they were selling clothes, accessories, collectibles, home decor, small appliances, holiday decorations, and furniture. The prices seemed very reasonable to me. I didn't need anything in particular but I always enjoy looking. I recommend stopping by and blessing them with your gently used items and shopping their new arrivals both of which supports the awesome work St. Vincent de Paul does in the community.

The Wilton Collective was previously located across from The Manor but they have relocated into the old Holy Mackerel location in Island City Plaza on 26th St. The large space has an interesting selection of art, jewelry, accessories, clothes, figurines, home goods, and vintage and antique pieces. There is also an event and meeting space that can be rented. They have a Mix & Mingle event at their bar every Friday from 6:30-8PM. I loved the Florida prints, especially the alligators and mermaids and they had my beloved vintage Pyrex dishes. Items ranged from a few dollars to hundreds. The prices I did check seemed reasonable to me. They have such an eclectic mix of beautiful things. I really enjoyed exploring this store.

The shop was packed to the hilt with nostalgic items which instantly rekindled childhood memories. Most would refer to this little shop as "Cute" but it was more like "Cool as Heck". Discussed action figures and comic books with the clerk. Aside from a Chucky doll wearing a Florida Panther jersey and some old records, there was a vintage Coca Cola vending machine and a matching bench which instantly absorbed my attention, but sadly not for sale. Another conversation piece was the red english phone booth that was actually the dressing room (see video). An absolutely fun time browsing the vintage shop that earned a rare 5 star rating.
