I am not usually a shopper of Goodwill items, but I wanted to check this store out to see if they had anything interesting in their home section. As you walk in, the women's section takes the majority of the front of the store, then you can see the men's section to the left and then all the way in the back they have a section of home goods. That section is not really big, but they do have a few items that some might call vintage, some might call them cheap. The selection and inventory changes often due to the incoming donations, so if you are looking for something in here, check periodically.

So, this is a review for the Goodwill Drop Off at Galt Ocean Mile. I didn't find a Yelp page for this location. Anyways, I've been donating here for many years now and the personnel are always nice and efficient and the inside is clean. It is only accepting donations, there is no store. They offer receipts. Today I left some clothes. Highly recommend using this service!:)

The Goodwill - Oakland Park isn't just any Goodwill. It's a Goodwill Superstore which means it's not just big, it's huge. It's also super clean, has very good lighting and everything in the store is in perfect order by size or subject matter. I met one young lady who was buying all kinds of children's books for her church education classrooms. For me, more than anything, I love to browse though I rarely buy. You just never know what kind of bargains or deals you may find or what might strike your eye. During my browsing I spotted a shirt. I near fell over when I read the Maus & Hoffman label, meaning it came from the custom shirt collection of Lauderdale's finest men's store and what I know would cost $200 plus dollars. But here it was for $5.00, my size and in new condition. So of course I bought it and since it is such a good looking shirt and I got it at such a bargain price, it all sort of made my day; so to speak.

    This place is huge...

This place is huge and if you're looking for clothes -- women's especially -- they have a large section. Items are arranged by type and then with in that more by color than sizes. There are some men's and juniors as well as a "designer" section, but by far it's ladies shirts and jeans and dresses. In the back, they have some shoes and purses and some bricabrack -- but not that much. Some household goods too -- linens etc. And a small section of books and tapes/cds. And only a few furniture items. A few lamps were by the books. If you're looking for furniture, this isn't the place. Still it's fun to dig around looking for that gem or missing China cup to complete your collection. Would be a good rainy day activity...

One of the best Goodwill Store I have ever been in. Loads of great stuff, well organized, and good pricing and daily specials.

We love this Goodwilll. It is large, well organized, and has a great selection. I've been to ones where things are stuffed too tightly together with narrow aisles, and sad stuff. This is the exact opposite. It's, light and airy and the staff are friendly and helpful. Another important thing is that they price things to move. I've been to ones where stuff was overpriced - to the point where it rivaled new prices. Nope- this Goodwill has the winning formula perfected: great stuff, great prices, great shopping experience. And after all that, you can feel good about your purchase because the proceeds go to a great cause.

A non latino must've dropped this off

They don't even attempt to hide it from the customers. In addition to that who ever does the pricing seems to think that they are marketing to Bergdorfs or Neimun Marcus (aka needless mar ups). As a customer who shops there as well as donates regularly, i find it offensive that you think people want to buy used shoes or clothes at prices higher than Marshalls or the like. After all whether slightly worn or used they still have had someones pissibly nasty ass or feet in them. If affordable enough wirth the buy as all things can be cleaned. Lets not get confused, if i am going to have to clean etc its cheaper and easier to go to any if the stires mentioned above pay less and not have to deal with the absurd rational behind pricing and bitchy attitudes. 1. If volynteers dont want to be there for exactly what it is, community service, they should stay home. No one wants ir needs them. 2. If yoyr going to continue with your gouging wirh reference to pricing, I'm glad to make my donations and shop at out of closet or anyone if the multiple other thrift stores. Remember you get the shit for free and donations are made out if the goidness if peoples hearts in attempt to give back and help those in need. Your organaztion is not doing the goid people of the community any favors with your policies. Are you trying to become a specialty shop? When average people can not or will not shop there for reasons stated above you've lost sight of what your philosophy once was. GET IT TOGETHER, get real. SHAME ON YOU.

Dixie, but as I noted none for the Poverello Live Well Center I thought some entry should be made. Located at 220 NE 12th Avenue, the Poverello Live Well Center is a part of the not-for-profit Poverello umbrella, but just as its location is different, so is its charitable focus. Poverello was originally founded in 1988 when large numbers having complications of AIDS were socially shunned, rejected and dying. The original intent was to provide food as a nourishing medicine. The pantry on Dixie continues to provide such for to over 3,000 families a year and the thrift shop also located there continues to take in donations of used articles for resale in order to support Poverello operations. The Poverello Live Well Center on 12th Avenue is somewhat different in that its design is as a support center for persons living with HIV, providing a safe accepting to receive support and health services. It is here that those with HIV can, in their words, "...access our full service gym, chiropractic services, acupuncture or massage free of charge." As such it provides a vital community service. One day, as a volunteer driver/transporter, I had the occasion to visit the Live Well Center. When I stepped in I was given one of the warmest of greetings and though I wasn't supposed to actually be allowed, as not being a member, to tour their facilities I did sneak my way around. (Shhh! Don't tell.) But what I saw was a complete with all the trimmings gym with some people giving workout assistance and help to others, a pool table play area and a most comfortable relaxing lounge. But what is really so very special about the Living Well Center are the super nice people from all sorts of differing backgrounds not only there to improve themselves but working together to improve the lives of others. For what they do and for the free of charge services they provide to some of our most needy, Poverello's Live Well Center gets my 5 Stars.

There are two St. Vincent de Paul thrift stores in Broward, one in Pompano and this one in Ft. Lauderdale. Some of the donated items are given to needy individuals and the rest are sold to the community in the thrift stores to fund their outreach programs. At this store they were selling clothes, accessories, collectibles, home decor, small appliances, holiday decorations, and furniture. The prices seemed very reasonable to me. I didn't need anything in particular but I always enjoy looking. I recommend stopping by and blessing them with your gently used items and shopping their new arrivals both of which supports the awesome work St. Vincent de Paul does in the community.
