When the inspection was over, he went the extra mile and wrote up and sent me a copy of the report so I would have it for closing. He called to tell me exactly what items a handyman would be able to fix and how to fix them! He also told me the items needing plumbers and electricians. Aaron, even helped me find a rental agency. Quick response: I called and they answered and were able to set up an appointment the following day. 2. Timeliness: Preston actually arrived between 12-1pm like he said he was. 3. He came and took a look and offered his time and expertise to answer some of our mold questions. 4. He said our problem was small. Unfortunately, they only do tear out and drying, (which we were going to do ourselves) but not replace the sheet rock. 5. If we ever have a situation we're we needed some serious drying power or tear out, I will definitely remember IRS/Independent Restoration Services and give them a call.

We purchased a new home where the prior owners had not maintained their 12yo HVAC and the house had a bad smell to it. We learned the HVAC had been leaking evaporant, leading to mold growth throughout the duct work that spread across the entire house. When I called explaining the situation Nick was very knowledgeable and had seen this issue before. He explained the potential health impacts of mold and the safety and efficacy of dry fog remediation treatment. (They have a lot of cool studies you can check out on their website too.) Jason came out to perform testing and he and Nick walked through the home with us to take a look at everything. Once we had results back, they scheduled us within a week for service. What was interesting to us is that dry fog doesn't just treat the visible places where your eye can see mold growth, it seeps into the nooks and crannies throughout the house to ensure what you can't see is addressed too. The pricing for everything was very reasonable for treating the entire house. Nick also had a great recommendation to integrate a de-humidifier directly into our ductwork to keep humidity in our basement-system low moving forward. They then plan to come out for re-testing in 6mo just to ensure we're continuing to stay mold free. Turns out we had mold growing in our HVAC from moisture around the AC coils. We first had a water restoration company come out and give us a bid for remediation because we thought insurance would cover it. Insurance wouldn't pay and we couldn't afford their price so I wen't searching for an option that wouldn't require me to replace the HVAC. A friend directed me to Claro. Said they could fog the house and kill the mold. So I called and Nick and Jason came out the next day. Their bid was 1/5th the price and they would treat the whole house, not just the HVAC. So we did it and I can't even describe how much better everyone feels. The air just feels cleaner and the AC coils look brand new. He came out with all different kinds of tools, did a thorough inspection, took an air sample, and submitted a full report(with pictures) to discuss our air quality. We were able to learn that we had some animal dander in our air which was affecting our allergies. He suggested upgrading filters and getting the air ducts cleaned. We've reached out to a NADCA certified air duct cleaner to get this done(a review will follow). Most importantly, we are pleased to learn that we do not have a mold problem in our house. Ultimately, Geno was extremely professional with the job that he did, and I feel confident that our money was well spent.

He makes sure that any mold-remediation company recommended on his website DOES what they are supposed to do, and will pass or fail their remediation. It's worth the fee you pay for all the things he sees that was done wrong and will give you advice on how to even do some things yourself. We did have a bad communication issue with Tier Inc, which he recommended to do mold remed.., and i'm hoping they have gotten some things ironed out. Tier's guys did a great job with the mold remediation, but we did have some damage to walls/ceilings in other rooms, which they deducted from our bill, so human error is always something to be encountered. But Geno is someone you want on your side before buying and selling your home if you've had an issue with mold.
