Mold!! Yikes! I have serious allergies to mold and when we found out we had mold due to a water leak, I began freaking. I am rating IRS a 5/5 for the following reasons: 1. Quick response: I called and they answered and were able to set up an appointment the following day. 2. Timeliness: Preston actually arrived between 12-1pm like he said he was. 3. He came and took a look and offered his time and expertise to answer some of our mold questions. 4. He said our problem was small. Unfortunately, they only do tear out and drying, (which we were going to do ourselves) but not replace the sheet rock. 5. If we ever have a situation we're we needed some serious drying power or tear out, I will definitely remember IRS/Independent Restoration Services and give them a call. read more

After waking up to water everywhere, I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do. My insurance agent told me that I could hire anyone that I wanted. Dishwasher line busted and flooded my kitchen. It was a mess. I called IRS and Preston was on it. Very professional and caring over the phone. He was able to get out to me right away. I was lucky enough to have a basement and be home when it happened. He was able to get himself there ASAP. It took a few days to dry out, but nothing had to be removed. What a way to start the summer break... flooded water heater. It seems that I can never catch a break, maybe being a homeowner just isn't my thing. That's what I thought prior to calling IRS out, not only did they handle the damage properly, the sincerely cared about my situation and my home. I could tell these guys were experts because they flooded me with information (pun intended) regarding the whole process. I was a little scared on starting a claim but Preston assured me it was in my best interest; as the damage was way beyond what I initially thought. Just an FYI, IRS does not do any reconstruction, they gave me a few referrals that they hold to the same standard as themselves. Had a dumb moment when I wanted to sink something in the sink and left it running for 10-15 mins flooding my upstairs bathroom and leaking downstairs, had to call them when my hardwoods started swelling up. Called them late afternoon one day and Preston came out first thing in the morning the next day. When I first called the company he asked me details about what happened and walked me through what the process would be like. When he came out and assessed the damage using the readers and luckily it wasn't bad. He advised me that leak wasn't bad enough needing to use his services and/or call the insurance company, but gave me a few tips on what to make sure it doesn't get worse. I moved to Tennessee a few years ago. I recently purchased a home in Arrington Tn. There are not many businesses or things to do around here. When I had a broken pipe from the recent freeze (I never knew Tennessee got this cold!) I had water all over my home. When I asked a few friends what I should do they recommended a water mitigation company to dry out my home the right way. Someone I know and trust local to Tennessee recommended that I call IRS. I had some water seepage affect the basement of my rental house in East Nashville, and found IPS through a google search. I reached out and Preston replied promptly and set up an appointment for the following day. IPS took care of sucking the water out, tested the drywall moisture levels and found that the problem was caught in time to just run the fans and humidifiers to get the basement back into restored condition. 3 or 4 days later the equipment was pulled out. As a landlord that lives out of town, Preston handled the situation in a manner that put me at ease that everything was being done properly with pictures and thorough explanation of the procedure. When I had some potential issues with more seepage a few weeks later, Preston came back to test the levels and found that there was no damage, and as an established customer, did not charge me for the follow up visit. I hope not to ever have to use water restoration services again, but if I did, I would definitely call on IPS again and they have my highest recommendation. read more

I called around 7 pm on New Years day expecting to get an answering machine, surprisingly enough the phone only rang 3 times before I spoke with an employee. I explained that I had a water heater burst and there was water leaking all throughout my garage/laundry room. David from independent restoration services responded immediately and was onsite within 1.5 hours. Wow! He had a really big vacuum to suck up all the water and proceeded to tell me about how deal with the insurance side of things. I am a new homeowner and have never had to deal with homeowners insurance before but thankfully David was an expert in moving my claim forward. I have always heard horrific stories of people dealing with claims process but this was def not the case here thanks to the expertise of David and his crew! read more

On the day that I moved into my brand new construction home, the washing machine water line flooded all over my downstairs hardwood floors. This happened around 7pm that evening. I immediately called my realtor who got in touch with the builder. The builder and IRS came out around 9pm that evening to clean up the mess and inspect the damage. IRS hooked up 4 industrial fans to dry out the floors and a left a dehumidifier as well. All the equipment was left for 5 days while the floor dried out. Since this all happened on the day that I moved in, I was so frustrated over the whole situation. It literally happened while I still had the moving company there unloading all of my furniture and boxes. IRS came in and was quick to clean it up and assured me that they would be able to take care of this for me. While the underlying issue was a flaw in the plumbing installation of the new house and not within IRS's ability to fix, they were super easy to work with and did a wonderful job in cleaning up and drying out the floors.
