Can I give a lower - ZERO star - rating ? I pre-booked a ride from my home to JFK airport on Dec 14, 2025. The driver arrived at the appointed time and the app notified me of his arrival. I contacted him told him I was bringing all my bags down from the second floor to the street, which would take a few minutes, and he acknowledged. When I got downstairs he had left - without telling me he was leaving. Being in a rush to get to the airport, I immediately called for another car. The Lyft app showed there was a car available around the corner from my location - this was unusual because we live in an area far from the more trafficked neighborhoods and we usually have a wait of 5 - 10 minutes for a car to arrive - and which was why I had pre-booked a ride that day. However, I did not think about it till after we were on our way to the airport. I looked at my ride history on the app and found that this was the same driver who had just cancelled on us and left a few minutes ago. If he was in such a hurry, why was he still parked around the corner when I called for a ride again ? And now the price of the ride had doubled because of the short time on my second request. Pre-booked rides are usually much cheaper because the system works on demand pricing. So - this driver cancelled my pre-booked ride and then waited nearby knowing I would call for a ride again as I was traveling. He then picked up my second request at almost double the cost - and scammed me out of extra money for the same ride he had accepted before. I was also charged a $10 "No-Show" fee when the driver cancelled my ride. I have been trying to contact Lyft to get a resolution and some action against this scammer, but there is no way to contact them except by email - after the usual form email acknowledgment of my email, they do not respond. read more

My driver was requested from the Fresno Amtrak train station. She was late picking me up because I found out later after getting in the car... she couldn't read gps. In English or Spanish. I had to give her directions in Spanish all the way to my destination. She kept apologizing saying she was learning English. She then past my destination up twice. I reported it to Lyft. They gave me a $5 credit. It's clear this lady needs to learn how to read gps before driving people around until. Not safe at all. I was late... A 26 minute trip turned into a hour!!! I generally use Lyft as my go to when it comes to rideshare. But when I really needed them the most, they failed me. It was two days ago and my precious pup needed to go to the hospital because she was having a hard time breathing from congestive heart failure. I couldn't drive because I was holding her to comfort her and had no other way to get to the emergency veterinarian. The app told me a driver was going to arrive in 25 minutes even though I selected an earlier time. As the time wore on my dog became more distressed so when the app was counting down in time, I went outside when it said "be outside to meet your driver". The time stamped "just a few seconds away". Mind you, I was carrying my dog and comforting her while she was gasping for breath. THE DRIVER NEVER CAME. I WAITED BUT NO ONE SHOWED UP! The time kept reading "just a few seconds away" and clocking for the remainder of the time. I immediately contacted Uber and they were there within minutes. I got to the vet and they took her back to get oxygen. As they were bringing her from the room with the oxygen to the room I was in, she passed away in the techs arms. I have kidney failure and am on dialysis. I understand the necessity of transportation. Dogs, pets have no ambulance to come get them. They are at the mercy of whomever drives them. In my condition, I had to rely on ride share. LYFT FAILED IN A BIG WAY. I'm so beside myself with grief and with anger. Who knows what would have happened if I got their in "just a few seconds". I may still have had my dog. I'm not blaming Lyft for my dog's condition, but I am blaming the company, the app, the driver, all of Lyft for not having the decency or accountability or integrity to follow through on a ride once confirmed. Sometimes it is a matter of life and death. I would select NEGATIVE a trillion stars for this. But as we all know there's no button for that. read more

I prescheduled a ride the night before for 9:00 am at my mechanic's shop. The ride was accepted. I got a message saying Juan Carlos would be the driver. I was at the meeting point 5 minutes early but he did not come. I could see on the map that he was in a wrong location further down Mersey Springs, NOT the address that the ride was set up for. I texted him multiple times and he did not answer. He never came to the specified address at all, I just got a message that the driver cancelled. I'm told I will get a refund in 5 to 7 days. Why was my money taken at all? And why didn't the driver who texted me respond when I texted back? And why, if he refused to do the job, wasn't someone else lined up instead? Very unprofessional. I booked a ride for my son late night after he was out of work and had no idea the address had 2 different locations. 1 in Fresno,1 in Clovis and the driver took him to the wrong one in Fresno and forced him out of his vehicle and left him in the middle of nowhere to walk more than 5 miles home after midnight and after he just finished an 8 hour shift! I pleaded with the driver to please take him to the correct location where he will be safe and he refused. I explained that I am also a rideshare driver for Uber and could never do that to one of my passengers! I get wrong addresses or additional stops all the time and just stay logged in and complete my rides to the passengers best satisfaction, because you still get paid for the extra miles and time it takes to complete the trip. Lyft refused to give me a refund and stated the ride was completed!. By abandoning him in the middle of the night further away from home and not even knowing where he was!? I prescheduled a ride from Visalia to the Fresno Yosemite International Airport I needed to catch an early morning flight and asked for a ride for 3:15 am. The app was showing my driver was on the way. I became anxious when nobody showed up by 3:20. At 3:30, I decided to drive myself. I don't feel comfortable driving in the dark because of vision issues. But, I wasn't going to miss my flight. While I was driving, Lyft notified me that my ride was canceled because they couldn't find a driver. Why couldn't they have told me this sooner? Do they always wait that long to notify? I find this unacceptable. I had one prior positive experience riding with this service. Now, I don't trust them to be able to provide a ride when I need one. I won't be using them again. read more

I tried several times to change my address. Motive care dispatches non-emergency medical transportation using lips however the address was wrong so the Lyft driver went to the old address and my doctor's appointment was missed I went to the application and tried to change my address three different times. No luck looks like I will be taking Uber instead of Lyft because I can't change my address I can't find anybody to talk to at Lyft it seems they close down their chat platform their number to call is just a greeting call. I requested a Lyft ride from a friend's house the other night and the driver insisted he was at the correct address. There were four of us standing in front of the correct address but he was rude and insisted he was correct. I was charged a $5 "no-show" fee. This company was very unhelpful in relation to a bad experience. The driver ran 2 red lights about 1 in the morning. Then my buddy's phone fell out of his pocket and was left in the car. The driver claims he left it with "some" police officer in Fresno but no name, badge number or incident number to assist with claiming the phone. When Lyft was contacted the next morning about the issues they said they would help find the phone and would have lost and found call me back. That never happened. I called three more times as well as emailed over the next week. They did not assist in any manner nor did they seem to care about their shady driver. The WORST customer service EVER!!!! I left a valuable item in a Lyft car. There was NO way to reach the driver; there was NO way to contact a customer service person as there is NO customer service available (I spent hours trying to talk to a real person--none is available, period; I am basically SOL. This service is by far the worst. I used it once and accidentally left my phone on the seat. I noticed RIGHT AWAY, searched for a number to contact my driver and he didn't share his info even though every other driver does. I looked online for a number to call but you CANT. ONLY EMAIL!! Where's the customer service?? They responded like 30 minutes later saying they contacted the driver and he said he didn't have it. I was tracking my phone the whole time and it was driving in his car. Then when Lyft said "he didn't have it" but phone turned off and I couldn't track anything. I had recently asked for a Lyft ride and was a first time customer. I was very happy with my Lyft experience, and especially the driver who was prompt, courteous and knew his way around town. Uber or Lyft? To be honest they are nearly identical with just a few differences. So I use both ride-sharing apps for my commute to and from work and I would give them both a 4-star rating. Lyft and Uber are kind of like a prize capsule or gumball machine. You never know what you may get. You can get a good driver or a bad driver or maybe one that is just ok. I have had some bad experiences before with some reckless drivers, drivers getting lost, dirty drivers, or just plain rude drivers. Yesterday I had a very good driver with a clean car, that I had enjoyed talking to on the way home. I have decided to use Lyft because the closest Uber driver was 17 minutes out and there increase fee surcharge for high traffic on the uber app. To my knowledge, Lyft does not have a surcharge and it only took 5 mins for my driver to pick me up. Most of my Lyft divers had been kind and very nice to talk to especially on a ride home after work. However, Lyft does cost a little bit more than Uber. In the end, it comes down to your preference. Both ride-share apps are great alternatives to taking a traditional taxi or the bus. I give Lyft in Fresno 4- stars for the number of quality drivers. read more

Visited Fresno in both December and May. In December was stood up by Lyft drivers twice out of 4 ride requests. This time I only ordered once and was stood up that time as well. On the app it will show a car headed my way and then it just disappears. When I have used Lyft in other areas and when the drivers do show up in Fresno, they are very pleasant. However, the service is just too unreliable to use. Better to get to know the bus system. read more

I scheduled a ride to work for 330am and needed to be at work at 430am and lfyt app said ride on the way be there in 10min. I waited and nothing, then an alert that said new driver be there in 2 min. And nothing. Called lyft customer service and they said sorry theres no drivers in Fresno area. This is the worst experience I have had, I was an hour late to work as I had to walk. We scheduled a pick for my husband from outer mechanic shop. The driver never showed up, and we were charged a 5.00 cancellation fee plus 10.00 for not being there. We tried contact the driver but were unable to. He never had any communication with us just charged us. The fees were reversed once the disputed it. They was no human contact we tried calling various numbers to get resolution so he would have transportation and couldnt. We ended getting uber to pick him up which we should have done in the first place. If you are a company providing transportation and the person doesnt show there should be someone besides the driver not answering, to call so another person can be sent out. As of today I have used Lyft 3 times and each time I had a great experience. They were there to pick me up within 10 mins of my request and each driver was nice and the cars are clean. Drivers drove very well compared to taxi services and I usually pay under $15 a trip including the tip. Very glad Lyft services made it to Fresno read more

I had requested an early 5am pickup to get to LAX the night before. Everything seemed good the driver said he would be here between 450 and 5am. We were willing to pay extra for a specific time. At the scheduled time we received a notice he would be 17 min late. Then another saying he wasn't coming. Another driver said he would come....then he said not coming. We frantically drove to L A X ourselves now almost an hour later than anticipated. We had a hard time parking. We barely made our flight! My advice is do not take Lyft if you are looking for an early morning ride. It cost us $100 more because we had to park. Zero rating from me. read more

You know what? Lyft in Fresno is just fine. I'd rather catch a cheap ride than risk a DUI, and overall my experience with Lyft here has been better than my experience with Uber. The drivers' cars tend to be newer and nicer, and the drivers themselves that I've encountered have been just fine. I was glad to see Santa Monica offer a low-cost special program --only within the City --for us senior/handicapped. After a VERY rocky start, I was able to get some rides. Then I left my phone in a ride, and it took more than TWO WEEKS and 30 emails getting robot replies, each time from new name to get it back(with help of a family member). Meantime, Lyft kept saying they had contacted the driver. And I was dragging heavy carts of groceries on the bus. TODAY I got an OK ride to Trader Joe. When I tried to call return ride, screen still had FORMER ride on it! Did she not close the ride when complete? I called the driver -- no answer. Got notice that I would be charged $5.00 for cancellation over 2 minutes. Now get this! "No connectivity." But there has always BEEN "connectivity" from Trader Joe! Still the old ride won't go away. TWO large heavy bags...what to do??!! Despair. Then a noble cavalier driving a Texas-plate car offered to drive me home!!! Oh, joy!!! Got home, tried to contact Lyft; STILL old ride on screen . Went out with a friend who had recently returned to Austin, TX after contracting Lyme disease in CA. She has a service dog with her at all times. I felt like I had too much to drink to drive us home so I called a Lyft to pick us up. I informed the driver that we had a dog and he agreed to take us. We got home fine and the next day I noticed an extra $100 charged to me for "damage". There were pictures of a floormat with some dirt from a shoe and dog hair on it attached. The driver claimed it was "fecal matter". I questioned the charge and I received a reply stating that no adjustment would be made after extensive information passed along by the driver and I. I gave zero information, other than that I had no idea I had anything on my shoes. Unethical and probably illegal. My advice would be to carry some cheap cleaning supplies if you're putting strangers in your car at 1AM. That'd do it for $5. Never use LYFT they charge you authrization fees everytime you take a trip thats $25 out of your account. Plus they charged me $100 for in town trip that usually cost $20 at most. It stated PRIMETIME. Meaning 200% more of the cost. Which means they only have a few drivers online but there was 20 drivers when i requested a lyft? Obviously its a fraudulent!
