They were caring for our needs and made sure everything went as planned. No one wants to use a funeral home because it means someone near and dear to you has passed. However, if you need a funeral home you cannot go wrong with Halls. Again, Thank You Kim, Carl & Aubrey for all you did. It was above and beyond and my family appreciated your efforts.

I recently had a friend pass unexpectedly and under tragic circumstances. After having a horrible experience at a funeral home in Middleburg, Virginia, a friend suggested Hall's in Purcellville. What a difference!! Kim Reed was a godsend. She understood that my friend's surviving spouse was in no condition to make immediate decisions. She worked closely with family members and friends to plan a service that was not only tailored to honor the wishes of the deceased, but also represented her special interests. Ms. Reed was extremely supportive, empathetic, and kept communication lines open no matter the day or time. She is a very warm, caring individual who understands grieving family and friends. I highly recommend this funeral home - they understand the tragedy of loss and death.

The inside of the home is very updated and well maintained with contemporary decor all throughout. The chapel did not reek of any odors. The chapel was very well maintained, bright and uplifting lightening and plenty of sitting available. As you go near the restrooms they have pictures with scriptures for grieving. And beverages in the mini fridge. The floral arrangements was simply amazing, and we were pleased with the florist that they are contracted with, as our flowers continue to bloom and not wilter. Throughout the whole service, Matt was very respectful and handled the service with great diligence and did not rush us out. He made sure our guests were comfortable and even offered beverages etc, before the service and always asked my family member questions and repectfully reminded us of our itinerary without being pushy. The second part of the service, was at our final destination, in which we had a nice canopy, privacy screen, and a nice seating arrangement everything was just amazing and a beautiful homecoming service for my family member. 5+ stars on everything and I highly recommend this place.

Not only are their prices VERY reasonable, but they communicated very clearly to me what I needed to do. Everything was handled by phone and e-mail. Kip Austin and Tiffany Rahl were both SO patient with all my questions! Even when I changed my mind at the last minute and asked them to deliver my mom's ashes to my home (because I was trying to avoid an emotion trip out to and back from Chantilly), they were just super nice about it and got me on the schedule for the very next day's delivery! Of course NO ONE wants to face the death of a loved one, but DCSV went above and beyond to make this process as painless as possible. I am beyond grateful for how they handled everything.

Two of them failed to disclose all their fees until I asked additional questions (based on my research), one of them was double the price of the other three, and the fourth one was Direct Cremation Services. I met with a gentleman named Kip, who didn't try to upsell me, and gave me a package that met my requests. The costs were significantly lower than the other three places. He assured me that Direct Cremation Services would take care of everything, and explained both the logistical process and the paperwork/payment process. When my mother passed away, on a weekend, Kip returned my (notification) call, emailed me the link to take care of the documents, and immediately send his team out to transport my mother's remains. He told me the paperwork could wait until Monday. Thereafter, everything went as promised, and I picked up my mother's "cremains" yesterday. An unbelievably smooth process during a difficult time. I can't recommend this place enough.

My brother died suddenly and from the…read moremoment I arrived with other family members to make my brother's arrangements, we were treated with the utmost respect and compassion. My brother had money to pay for a funeral many times over, but without a death certificate my nephew was unable to access any information regarding life insurance policies or bank accounts. When we arrived, we laid our cards down on the table, advised how much we had to spend and Jorge (our funeral planner) went to work crunching numbers and delivered a funeral package that honored my brother and was within our budget. I have contracted with other funeral homes over the years for other funerals and have been subjected to high pressure tactics exploiting my grief to try to up-sell me into buying things that were unnecessary. Not Brown's. We were shown only those things that were within our budget and not shown high end, top of the line caskets and vaults that would only compound our grief. We received a funeral that was thousands of dollars cheaper than what we would have paid in Maryland. And everyone I spoke to went out of their way to make our family feel special and accommodate all of our needs. I read some of the other posted reviews regarding Brown Funeral Homes and I'd like to correct a misconception. Some people believe it is the funeral home's obligation to produce a death certificate shortly after they pay the funeral home to procure them. They can't produce what they don't have. Anyone who googles "acquiring a death certificate in West Virginia" will learn that West Virginia is one of the worst states in the country to acquire a death certificate. They are ridiculously slow. I developed quite an affinity for the staff of Brown's. They treated me with exceptional professionalism. Please be kind when seeking a death certificate from them. If you get frustrated, just imagine how frustrated they must be trying to procure death certificates for the many families they serve. These are good people. These are trustworthy people. Trust them with your families' needs. You won't be disappointed. Thomas Ross
