After seeing Lyn's advertisement on estatesales.net, I was excited to check out the beautiful clothes, bags and jewelry that was offered. I drove 30 minutes (which isn't terrible, I know) to get there. As I walk in, I smile to the guard to which I was promptly asked to leave. I asked why and was told no men were allowed. It was only for women. I asked to speak with Lyn. She comes out from the start with an attitude and says it's ladies only. "It's not my fault you can't read." I asked why, to which she replied " we have women changing in here and I don't want them feeling uncomfortable." I told her it was discriminatory and she said "thanks so much for telling me that" and shut the door. Now, I will start by saying I want any gender, sexual orientation, etc... to feel comfortable in any space. What I have an issue with is that she is turning away purchasing customers because something may happen. Are there no dressing rooms? Are the women just undressing in front of anyone? If that's so, there's a problem right there. If there are in fact dressing rooms, that is your job as the owner to make sure the customers are safe. As a gay, nonbinary individual, the last thing on my mind going to a sale is taking a peak at women, or anyone, for that matter. No where on the estate sale.net ad did It say no men were allowed. I saw the ladies only picture, but figured it was referring to only female clothing. If a trans woman were to come in would they be turned away just because they were born male? I'm assuming you keep it vague on the rules as to not get in trouble for discrimination. Lyn, I'm thinking because you sale high end goods that you feel you can treat others with disrespect and make up rules as you see fit. You are no better than those that are buying or selling to you. I left today feeling like I was dirty just because I wanted to buy a cute bag and jewelry. I'm sure you won't bother changing, but I encourage you to think about how you approach people. A few months later she contacted me to come get my father's stuff that she couldn't sell or she would take ownership, which she promptly did. read more

The one star review is because despite following up several times since the sale in March 2021, most recently in November, Huck never gave an accounting for the bedroom set that she asked to sell on a different site. The entire process requires you to trust the appraiser. You never see what is displayed, what sells at what price, etc. You give the appraiser your goods; the appraiser prices them as she sees fit; the appraiser puts them on sale; and then gives you a statement saying these categories of things sold for a total of X, Y, Z, which minus the fee and $100 for a HPD officer results in the payment to the consignor. It took a tremendous amount of work and $1,000 in up front expenses to get the furniture and belongings from my relative's 6000 plus square foot home to the Huck warehouse, and the net benefit was just over $2600. We would not have gone to the effort and expense had we known the result would be so little. That disappointment was compounded when after receiving the email from Lyn pictured below, saying she wanted to sell the bedroom set on another site and our approving that, we heard nothing more from Lyn ever again. read more

My favorite professional estate liquidator in the Houston metroplex -- hands down, far and away. Lyn and her crew are exceptionally hard working, extremely organized, and distinctively thorough. I found a gorgeous 18K gold men's ring at the last Huck sale I attended, and my long-suffering husband (he's the one who usually sits in the car all dejected looking when I visit estate sales) bought a really cute Invicta wristwatch that he now wears almost 24/7. You never know where Lynn's gonna be, either -- sometimes it'll be a sale in downtown Houston. Sometimes it'll be out in a McMansion in Sugarland. You just never know. And, by the way, there are grousers who on Yelp who -- apparently -- are accustomed to garage sales and not properly conducted, professionally organized, and well marketed ESTATE SALES. Lyn doesn't work like a dog only to dicker and bargain and bicker with low end garage sale types. No, she works on a contractually agreed upon, carefully constructed discount schedule. At least give her credit for doing things THE RIGHT WAY and please (if you're one of those low end, low information, ill behaved garage sale types) take your business elsewhere and quit maligning a true professional such as Lyn Huck is. Lyn is always very friendly and helpful to my mother and I when we visit her estate sales. We have both found so many cool trinkets, tools, and books from Lyn Huck's estate sales ! Her sales are really awesome and they feel like you are going on a treasure hunt. Also ,to the person that said there she has police officers because there were gangs of pick pockets ... What the heck are you talking about ???! She has a police office at every estate sale because a ton of people come in an out the door.... It's called having security!!! . I want to thank this company for the wonderful sale that took place in January 2022. All things were carefully marked and the price tags hung. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The prices on the first day were very affordable and for some of them the prices were just wonderful, which was a very pleasant surprise. the house was very clean and everything was laid out so that it was convenient to look and get the necessary thing. I really liked that the employees lit a scented candle and there was a pleasant aroma in the house. For the safety of customers, there was a policeman who was very friendly Will definitely come back and recommend this business to my friends. read more

They encouraged me to take my time and ask if I needed any assistance. Warning...if you attend this an estate sale held by this company and have the inclination to negotiate or barter she will increase the price for that item. I try not to leave 1 star reviews for businesses but unfortunately Lyn Huck Estate Sales is deserving of this review. I have been to a number of her estate sales and always enjoyed them. They're normally run professionally and never way over priced. Today at a local estate sale I saw something very disturbing which led me to this 1 star review. Normally before you walk in a sign is posted in the entry way that says no one under 16 without an adult, which is fair enough when dealing with estate sales and i completely can agree with. What I can't agree with is the red head at the door which I presume is Lyn, to be openly racist towards a Hispanic family that was bringing a few kids in and not letting them in when just 5 minutes before I saw at least 4 other white kids about the same age as the Hispanic kids walking through the house. What irked me more is the conversation that she had with the CHILD. Lyn: No one under 16 years old ( as child is walking though door with parent) Child: I'm with my parent who is 32 years old. Lyn: No one under 16 years old, and thank you for telling me how old your mother is. Seriously, stand by your rules for all races or one day you may have the ACLU notified.. After having a very bad experience at one of her competitor's sales, I wandered into a Lyn Huck Estate Sale. I was very impressed! The sale was beautiful organized and the atmosphere was calm and inviting. There was a person to help you in every room and they were all friendly and accommodating, each person greeted you as you entered the room and asked if they could be of assistance.
