It's PAIN!" I was crying, my heart was beating so hard I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I was hyperventilating and close to passing out, and Dr Karkoosh said:  "Don't pass out on me!" and he pinched the bridge of my nose. I have had 4 extractions in my life and NEVER experienced pain. I know the difference between pressure and pain.   As he stitched me up, I felt EVERY needle jab. Which was pretty telling . If you can feel every needle jab,  you're certainly going to feel a tooth being ripped out of your mouth! This nightmare I wouldn't wish on anyone. Ellen Jones Community Health center ? What a travesty! What a joke.

Harborside at Ellen Jones is the RMV of dentistry. The entire operation seems to be designed for…read morethe convenience of the administrators, of which there seems an over-abundance. My last visit, they tried to insist I fill out a form listing my personal financial details, despite the fact that I have full dental insurance coverage. The office does not do implants or bridge work, and the staff actively discourages seeking those options. I recently changed dentists and requested my records be sent. After ten days of no response, an administrator told me that because of budget cuts, patients will "just have to wait". Physically and functionally, the office feels like the worst sort of government bureaucracy. My personal opinion is that anywhere else would be a better choice.

My mistake was trusting her and not going back to my original dentist who insisted I did NOT need the second crown. She brutally destroyed both teeth so she could crown them, gave me extra injections of a numbing drug I did not need and I bled for days, had to go back in for care, because of bleeding and my left check was numb for days and then she sneakily put in my records that I was allergic to this drug she had overused. Do not trust her like I foolishly did! She is obviously a psycho!

I hadn't been to a dentist in a while due to other pressing health issues and was hoping not to get embarrassed by the staff. I have always taken good care of my teeth. The hygienist was rude appearing impatient and intolerant. Told me I was to have deep cleaning but didn't discuss cost so didn't present options- didn't tell me it would be an additional cost of 260.00! Dentist very unfriendly informing me that I needed a tooth extracted, suggested implant (about $7.000.00 out of pocket) and a root canal. Told me I appeared to have had "a lot of dental work","needed nothing else, I was "boring". All staff appeared very snobby, communication extremely poor and I ended up leaving with a total bill of $359.00 which included $99.00 towards my next appointment in 3 months (instead of 6 months) cash right then! I'm 74 years old on a fixed lower income and not prepared for that cost! Saw another dentist later who said only needed a filling in one tooth. Beware! Bring your wallet, know they embarrass you if hadn't very recent dental care.

The care that I have received consistently over the last 14 years by all of the dentists at what is now called Monomoy Dental has been absolutely the best around. I am parked in view of the glass doors? Did you not hear, nor feel both doors open, nor get a blast of cold air as I enter? Nor hear the swish of my jacket from two feet away?Bollocks. No chance she did not hear, feel or see me come in. No way. I'm not a fool. I am standing 12 inches from you. Ignorance is bliss. I stood there without a "I'll be right with you" or any acknowledgement, so I sat down as it was now uncomfortable to stand there, for that long . I had to go back to the desk to see her smug look... honestly, smug look. I'm not a fool, we all know when someone is taking a piss. When I sat back down the other person asked if I forgot to check in. I replied no, she couldn't bother to address me, so I sat down. Now the receptionist decided to tell her side by hollering at me from her desk, while I sat in the waiting room. Yelling at me that she had been there from 700 am had work to do... screaming at me from her desk! To prove her point. It was unprofessional and most uncomfortable. I tried to quell and just say yea, ok, but she kept right on. It was very inappropriate. Some people have anxiety about the dentist! I will say, I have been spoken to by their staff in a very inappropriate way in the past, hence my review. There are ways to deal with this situation and this was the worse avenue to take. I spoke to management- useless!
