Beautiful and cleverly designed, this bridge spans the Houston Ship Channel and joins Baytown and La Porte. It is named for the editor of the Baytown Sun, a local newspaper from 1950 to 1974. It is the longest cable-stayed bridge in Texas. The bridge replaces the Baytown Tunnel that was removed in 1999. There is no toll to cross the bridge. Sometimes it smells like snot, stale pork rinds, burnt hair, luke (however no one else knows the meaning of that), dirty socks though I know all it is, is pollution & chemicals that's offseting it. I'm always driving across this bridge and often have to hold my breath while driving across. The odor is that bad. You'll use this bridge connecting Baytown, to Mont Belvieu and Dayton. I drove across it every morning at 4 am to go to work. 5 years later, the smell has dissipated one day and back another day. Accidents occur on this bridge typically because cars in the far right lane don't merge over until the last minute to rush to meet their exit.

There aren't a lot of parking spaces in the attached lot. I parked across street in the police department lot. The building is surrounded by a manicured yard. On the side of building, it has a Pelican Path. Just say it's a happy place to pose with people height cement statues. It opens from sunrise to sunset. This made a perfect place for a cultural venue for the summertime. Let the breeze of Clear Lake flown to my face. That experience is never felt in Houston. My only pet peeve is lack of bathrooms. If you really really have to go, Citgo on the other side of 2nd Street should be sufficient. I believe history book has not provided adequate historical value to its original Chinatown in EaDo…read more(east of downtown). This long-lost memory is only in the memory of a few. To tell you the truth, I have never witnessed The Old Chinatown in its golden days. I'm a recent immigrant to Houston's New Chinatown, which established in late 1980's. I discovered Old Chinatown last year while attending a fundraising event promoting Asian fusion food. I parked at a parking lot next to a famous sports Beer Garden Pitch 25, which is owned by retired Houston Dynamos Soccer Coach Brian Ching. They installed their neon sign on top of the original sign of a Chinese furniture store 福星装潢贸易公司. It's only visible during the day. Across the street, there stands a lonely Asian market in a tiny strip mall. The sign marks the past history of this Old Chinatown. I have to rely on Houstonians on Yelp to share their memories on this business page. Because I want to know more. We can probably rediscover the past we missed.

BEST of all, my significant other had finished the whole process (ID verification, DNA mouth swab, retinal scan, and fingerprinting) in less than 30 minutes. I love supporting the arts, and visiting the museum has become something of an annual tradition for me, especially during June and July. I usually go with friends or family, and it's always such a nice experience. I love the atmosphere. There's something about walking around, taking your time with the artwork, and just enjoying the space. I've also randomly met some of the greatest and most interesting people while we're all just there checking out the art. Whether you're really into art or just looking for something enjoyable to do in Houston, MFAH is absolutely worth visiting. It's one of those places that reminds me how much Houston has to offer.

Unfortunately I was short on time but was able to visit the Frida collection, Aztec civilization, and Islamic Art collections. All of the art work was unique. The Frida collection was extremely popular and that's where most of the museums visitors spent their time. Overall I really enjoyed my experience here and wish I had more time to explore. They do have several dining options at the museum including a Michelin star French restaurant, Le Jardinier. The menu looks great and looks like they had a lunch 2 course option there for $45.

This particularly moment, my dad's friend, who works for NASA invited my dad and his family on a tour through NASA, an area that isn't open to the general public. So right there, I knew this experience would be memorable and well worth it. Truly, this has been one of the best top experiences: my dad's friend was so knowledgeable about the whole tour. However, before we got to tour we had to put on special badges according to the guards to make sure other personnel know that we were going to look around. I learned a lot about NASA with all the shuttles, that they actually build some of the things in the facility, sometimes engineering students work in the lab and build robots, all the controls in the shuttles and how space life is. We even had the opportunity to tour and walk through a few of the shuttles which was super cool.

The NBL consists of a large indoor pool of water (40 feet deep, 202 feet long, and 102 feet wide. In other words, this is a big ass pool, of which I recently spent parts of 2 days learning boat- and helicopter-related survival training. And yes, I can honestly say that I trained with (or at least near) the astronauts! We also had the chance (via a special visor) to see 2 astronauts perform simulated task in preparation for upcoming missions. Deep down in the pool are full-sized mock-ups of the International Space Station (ISS) modules and payloads, and visiting vehicles from other National programs. The principle of neutral buoyancy is used to simulate the weightless environment of space. What we say was the astronauts (in 300# space suits) lowered and raised in and out of the pool using an overhead crane. Once in the water, the suited astronauts are weighted in the water by support divers so that they experience minimal buoyant force and minimal rotational moment about their center of mass. Multiple divers surround the astronauts during their entire training exercise. It was a very cool thing to watch and appreciate. Postscript - Who was Sonny Carter? M. L. "Sonny" Carter, was instrumental in developing many of the current space-walking techniques used by the astronauts. Carter was selected into the astronaut program in 1984 and flew into space STS-33 aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery. He was training as a crew member aboard STS-42 when on April 5, 1991, he died in a commuter plane crash near New Brunswick, Georgia. Before he became an astronaut, Carter was a Navy doctor and aviator, and a soccer player for the North American Soccer league.

Consisting of 3 fountains that continuously run with nighttime illumination and located inside a busy traffic circle, Mecom has provided many a backdrop for photos and quick glances from passing cars. That's what I did when riding a bus back to the Medical district. There are a lot of online articles and pictures about the fountain, including conflict about proposed renovations, stolen lights, and somebody pouring soap to create sudsy effect.
