This…read moreis a small branch of the much larger Harris County Library system, but held a host of pleasantly sweet surprises and I don't have enough good things to say about them. Right when we walked in there were two ladies at the desk who sweetly asked how they could help me, which they did, with getting an actual library card (the only one I had was for e-books), helped with my daughter's summer reading program logging and prizes (she got to choose a brand new age/level appropriate book), then told me that reading to and with my daughter counts towards my adult reading program too, along with some additional helpful hints. Then she pointed us to the children's section, which was filled with all kinds of fun and sensory things to do besides read which were so fun I had to force my daughter, who normally LOVES books, to come over and pick one out. They also offered us a free school summer lunch, which are offered for school age children at various locations throughout Highlands and Baytown courtesy of our local school district Goose Creek Consolidated on certain days at certain times. All these things plus, weekly story times for littles (ages 0-5) and a family story time, other fun weekly activities for different age groups, as well as, 26 Computers with Internet, MS Office, and Catalog access 1 Pharos Computer Booking Station, 1 Print Station, and 1 Pho9tocopier. So, if you're ever in the area or just want to check out this mini, but mighty Harris County Library locale, I promise it'll be worth the trip.

The staff is always very helpful, and the children's…read morelibrarians keep up with the newest in children's literature, which is fantastic for a smaller city library. The children's area features an awesome tree to sit in or around, my kids love it. There are several small tables and puzzles for the littlest patrons too. It is usually calm and quiet when we visit. I like how they ask adults without children to leave the children's area open just for that group, so they will have their own space to sit and read. They do offer lots of extras, such as knitting classes, story times, and visiting authors and local historians. I've been a member of this library since I was five years old, and I love that my own kids can enjoy it too.

This is the new Harris County Library branch that opened June 2011. It is a lovely building with a…read moregreat kid's section, separate teen room called "Teen Isle" and adult books. It also has a small book store. There is an informatin desk as you enter staffed with friendly librarians, and self check out machines. This location even has a drive thru to return books and pick up requested items. They offer children's story time and lots of activities during the summer for kids, teens, and adults with the Summer Reading Program. They have a book club, and active Friends of the Library group. The best part is they are part of the Harris County Library system and you have access to TONS of books and materials from the entire library system!!!

The professors do not allow the students to have conversations with them. They scold and blow them off. Is there a financial incentive for the professors to fail students so they have to enroll and pay for classes again? These narcissist professors are failures at the expense of highly capable students being poorly taught by them. I am so angry and disapointed. They are unprofessional at best. I want to file a complaint with Texas Higher Education and find a way to get the word out about this institution. Attend University of Houston. Their grading scale is more reasonable, and you can talk with your professors!

The main reason we spent a lot of time on this campus is because this is where Barbie has done a lot of her long marathon distance type running. They host a lot of runs here on this beautiful wooded campus and it has so much greenery that it's pretty amazing to be honest. Arriving at this location you need to know the drive way is a one way snd it's before the sign. I passed the sign up and had to turn in the wrong way ‍ now I know. This is a small library with friendly helpful staff. This place has been updated but I'm Years behind I'm sure. Last time I walked into a library was about 7 years ago and they still used card catalogs. I felt old and out of place lol. To be honest I'm shocked libraries are still a thing. I get all my books online now. I only got one becuse my 94 year old aunt reads a lot and wants the book to hold and buying them gets expensive, even from a thrift shop. The card catalogs are in computers and it's in a system with other libraries so that's helpful and confusing. The books are in alphabetical order and not numerical order so that's helpful. This location has more kids young reader, and teen books than adults. There's also a log of people using the computers, I was surprised by this. I figured everyone had a computer or a smartphone these days ‍ the librarians don't check out books anymore and there's no cards with dates on them either . The librarian (if that's still their name ) did show me how to check out a book. You scan your card and then place your books on the scanner and it checks them all out. I'm guessing microchip inside the dust cover. I'm not sure more research is still needed . Very interesting trip and entertaining even though I officially felt like a 90 year old out of their time

I had been wanting to visit the Rosenberg Library since booking my vacation to Galveston. This…read morelibrary did not disappoint! The Rosenberg Library is huge! On the fourth floor, they have it dedicated to the history of Galveston. It was interesting to learn more about the 1900 hurricane that devastated Galveston. The library did a fantastic job with that exhibit as well as the Galveston's African American history and the history of Galveston in general. There is also a rare book room as this floor and very clean restrooms. The third floor was the young adult and computer area which we did not go to, but it did look nice. The second floor had books, board games, video games, DVDs, audiobooks, and more to check out. (We needed up checking out a board game for our stay.) This floor also had magazines, a community jigsaw puzzle, a small used bookshop area (with books available for cheap and in great condition), and a few other things. The ground floor hosts the children's area which we did not go to, but it looked like a cute and engaging area for children. The circulation desk is on the ground floor as well. Staff was all very friendly as well. There's also ample free parking in the parking lot for the library as well. Definitely check out this library when you're in Galveston.

The shop was well organized and absolutely packed with books, one of those places where every shelf feels like it holds a new discovery. The owner was friendly and genuinely helpful, even pointing me in the right direction for locomotive books I was hoping to find. I easily could have spent the entire day browsing, but unfortunately work was calling. If you're a book lover and find yourself nearby, Becker's Books is definitely worth the stop.

Another branch was the only branch to have it. I've enjoyed visiting various branches and since getting my library card. This library is really nice! Spacious and clean. There's ample seating with pods, open tables, private meeting/study rooms, and a lovely balcony area with more seating. There's an elevator as well- accessible. My initial visit was during the holidays so there was lots of decor. Librarians/Library staff were friendly and helpful. When I'm in the area, I'll definitely return!
