    Flowers blooming!
    Annette A.

A beautiful stop during your walk around lake Harriet. The gardens have something new blooming spring summer and fall. Today we were there admiring the daffodils, ornamental trees flowering and the peonies are popping up - can't wait for those to flower in June. There are always lots of people, dogs and picnickers. Today we saw a couple having professional photos taken. You can walk to the bandshell from here to get ice cream.

Minneapolis hidden gem! The rose garden is right off Lake Harriet. It is among gorgeous houses lake views. Free parking is available along the lake. There is also a pay lot. It is a great spot for photos or to walk your dog. I loved enjoying the beautiful weather and admiring all of the flowers!

Free, peaceful rose garden just off Lake Harriet (I always thought it was called Lake Harriet Rose Garden). It has more than just roses-come and plan to spend sometime here exploring all the flowers! Best way to get here is to bicycle in. No parking problems! Just turn off of the Lake Harriet Bicycle Trail onto Roseway Road. If you're up for it-the Peace Garden (rock garden) is on the other side of Roseway Road.

Beautiful nature in the city proper. Minneapolis is full of hidden gems in plain sight, the Lyndale park rose garden is a must see! And so close to lake Harriet

The Rose Garden has been around for over a hundred years and I've ran hundreds of miles around this area and this is the first time I've actually walked through the garden, I'll have to come back for more pictures when there are actual roses blooming...hahaha No need to wait though, there are already many different types of flowers in bloom. Hopefully as spring comes around the fountain will be turned on to enjoy.

A rose garden next to the lake with parking available. Minneapolis thank you for giving the public the chance to appreciate the beauty of nature and flowers in particular. The parking lot is next to a Japanese garden of sorts and did I mention it's adjacent to lake Harriet. Joie de vivre!

This garden is amazing, so many rose and flower varieties, many of which are labeled, plus fountains. Be sure and visit the Peace (Rock) Garden garden on the west side of Roseway Rd, and take in Robert's bird sanctuary which is a pleasant, shaded path through native vegetation to the Lake Harriet Band Shell.

We explored the bird sanctuary and rose garden today and wow...phenomenal!!! Beautiful and peaceful. Trails and flowers and open space! Great for all ages! I will definitely be back!!

FREE & BEAUTIFUL! Especially during this strange time with COVID-19, now is the best moment to get out in nature and get your daily movement in. This garden is so well-cared for and such a treasure in Minneapolis. As spring turns into summer and then into fall, this garden takes on a new look and vibe with each season. Try to visit it at each stage and you will enjoy the way the plants and overall scene change. Perfect space for a romantic stroll with your partner or a place where your kiddos can roam and be in awe of all the colors and wildlife they see!

I didn't get to walk around too much of it, but it was an exceedingly nice park. The bird sanctuary adjacent to it is heavily wooded with well maintained trails and also worth checking out If you've already parked here.

Always a gorgeous and serene sanctuary to visit..and it's free...right here in Minnesota! I'm updating this review in 2020 a strange time with COVID-19 with all the restaurants closed and summer activities like the State Fair cancelled, so my friends and I decided to visit this amazing garden for a summer picnic! Yes, there was rain, but the Rose Garden has a little shelter with picnic tables so we were still able to enjoy our picnic. It's summer, so the rain did let up and we still were able to walk around after the picnic to enjoy the flowers. I didn't forget to take pictures this time around! LOVE!

Bless this blissful sanctuary. The Peace Garden is a real tranquil treat off of Lake Harriet. It's a lush Japanese-style garden with walking paths and beautiful landscaping. I love the colorful yet soothing array of trees, rocks, bushes, flowers, alllll of ittt. There are benches to sit, a small water fall/fountain, sculptures, walking bridges... nice mindful touches. I've seen people come here to just chill, draw, stroll, fold paper cranes, and I've even seen special little events like a traditional tea ceremony. I just wish people wouldn't blast their own music or videos on their cell phone, but it might be a good opportunity to practice meditating and try to zen those nuisances dafuq out of there. Lastly, the location is amazing! In walking distance: bird sanctuary, the lake, and rose garden.

I've been here twice now. Gorgeous, well kept up, extremely spacious, clean park! There are SO many perfect spots for photography or just peacefully enjoying a day at the park! Lots of walking paths- both sunshine and thru a forest area.

Volunteers here really do a stellar job. I would say this is in the top 10 must see gardens in the Twin Cities, along with the Iris Gardens!

It spans 34 acres and is named after Charles Loring, an American businessman, miller and publicist who was the first Minneapolis Park Board and considered the "Father of the Park System" in Minneapolis. The park has an astounding flower garden. It was very pretty. You will also find a very nice lake/wetland here. It has seating and is very soothing. The lake is home to many animals. Fishing is welcome at the lake. They even have a fishing pier. The park has a full basketball court and a half-court basketball court that are in great shape. The park's horseshoe pits could use some TLC, though. The park is home to about 10 pits. If you are a pickleball player, then the park has a couple of nice courts to play on. Other park amenities include tennis courts, shuffleboard, and two playground areas on wood-chip beds. One area is fenced in and is for smaller children. This area has a bank of swings, a saucer swing, slides, a modern merry-go-round, a bebble bridge, and a jungle gym. The other playground area, for older kids, has a climbing net, balance beam, slides, pebble bridge, and rock climbing wall. This area is not fenced in. I have seen a lot of parks, and this is a nice one. They host events such as movie screenings, ice skating, and lunchtime concerts. You can easily spend half a day here. I really enjoyed my time here and am sure that you will too.

I'm new to discovering The Trailhead at Theodore Wirth Regional Park, but believe me when I say I'll be back many more time. In the winter, they offer cross-country skiing and lessons. (You can rent a full set of gear for about $30- no need to have your own to experience skiing! They also have à la carte options for cheaper if you only need poles or boots, etc.) Besides skiing, outdoor winter activities also include snow tubing, snowboarding, snowshoeing.... You name it. (I haven't been in fall or summer yet, but I also hear great things about their mountain biking and trail running options.) Inside The Trailhead, there's food and drink concessions, ample seating, lockers, bathrooms, and even rooms for rent. The last time I was there, a family was hosting a young child's birthday party in the multi-purpose room. Altogether, there is an amazing assortment of services here to come and check out. Can't wait for next ski season!
