This dentist location is Dr. Julia Faigel's franchise, and she has a history of customer mistreatment and improper billing. Over the two years I've been here for orthodontic work, I have dealt with constant miscommunication and extreme over-scheduling. In the past, I have walked into a waiting room with literally not enough seats for the amount of people they booked, forcing me to wait 30 minutes to an hour past my time just to be seen. The billing is just as bad. When my insurance changed, they never told me they stopped taking my DMO plan and just kept charging me a "copay." Later, they misquoted me ~$200 for an unnecessary "extensive cleaning," refused to clarify what my insurance actually covered, and then insulted me by asking to bring the payment terminal into my treatment room before the procedure even started. Lately, they keep rescheduling my appointments with almost zero communication. Yesterday around 5 PM, they gave me less than 24 hours' notice to move my 11:00 AM appointment to 10:30 AM. I arrived at 10:45 AM to an empty lobby, but Donna turned me away, claiming the doctor only sees patients for 10 minutes. This appointment was already rescheduled from 2 we back because the doctor wasn't available on June 25It is infuriating that they expect patients to wait an hour for them in a packed room, but will completely turn you away over 15 minutes on a last-minute schedule change. I love Dr. Gumbo, but the front desk and management make it a miserable experience.

My daughter still talks about her "trip" to the Dentist and how she can't wait to go back. She constantly wants to brush her teeth, and things are just right with the world! We went as a family this past Thursday. They took many safety precautions due to COVID19 and I felt very comfortable going into their office. We called when we arrived and they had us wait outside until it was our turn (which was not a long wait at all). We went in and towards the back where there was a room that had two chairs. My husband held my son on his lap and I held my daughter on mine. Dr. Hollywood came to say hi before the kids got their teeth cleaned. The dental hygienist was very patient and talked my daughter through her first cleaning. She counted her teeth, and cleaned them with a chocolate flavored toothpaste (my son had the orange). After the cleaning we had to wait just a little bit to see Dr. Hollywood again. She gave us some tips on brushing and flossing, and told us we can begin to use a very small amount of fluoride toothpaste. The appointment ended with a fluoride cleaning. It was quick and painless. My kids were then giving little "goodie" bags and even received a coin to get a small prize from the front of the office. It was such a pleasant experience and I'm so happy to have found Nutley Pediatric Dentistry. Thank you so much Dr. Hollywood and staff for making my kids first dental appointment so easy. We are looking forward to our next visit!

I normally don't bother with…read morereviews, but due to the level of pleasantry from this experience, I feel that I must: My issue: cavity, back end of the last teeth on the bottom right row (very hard to get to) due to wisdom teeth (previous dentist didn't even follow up with me regarding that after he removed my wisdom teeth) Honorable mention: Front desk (Jenny): exceptionally nice and considerate lady. Took the time to review my insurance coverage with me, along with assisting me in reaching out to my insurance company to verify coverage prior to scheduling my apt. (Normally they just book u and be done). Reasonable recommendation when asked for her opinion, no BS. The process: numbing the surface before needle with numbing agent injection. Due to my reaction, Dr. Kim stopped and did a total of 3 injections to make sure I'm numb properly before cavity filling (keep in mind, I had cavity fillings where the doctor was in a rush, feels like it's about right and just went with it). As difficult as it was for the position of my cavity, Dr. Kim took the time, and with consideration, got the job done without me feeling much of any discomfort. Highly recommend!
