I've been to LynLake Brewery a few times now and I'm generally not a beer drinker but can usually find something tolerable (on the sweeter side). They only had one cider and one seltzer - which is what we ended up getting (one of each). The raspberry seltzer was a bit on the watered down side, like the raspberry flavor was super flat. The cider was okay. It was pretty busy due to it being the check in point of a bar crawl, there was only 1 bartender so the line moved kind of slow but that one person did the best they could to keep things moving. A good spot for beers and Yahtzee, I would recommend to anyone looking for a brewery. A highlight was the food - crinkle fries were crisp to-order for everyone in my party. Burgers were a classic smash burger on brioche - not best in the twin cities calibre, but very satisfying. If you like spice, ask for their habanero mayo to dip your fries it. It tastes like it has fresh peppers blended into it! The ambiance is another - the bikes spokes hanging from the ceiling caught my eye and are why I ended up here. These have a story which harkens back many years - involving Greenway bike commuters and a nearby bike shop that had a bunch of old tires... Beers was very solid - I am not buying any growlers or anything, but definitely tasted a good hazy IPA, sour, and a surprisingly bitter amber (I thought that balanced out what is usually malty type beer). Seems like they rotate more than L&L or Sisyphus, but nothing like Wooden Ship. The rooftop patio is really nice from late May to early October. The marquee at the entry is usually a hoot. Have to admit I was excited when Oliphant from across the River was about to take over (before the deal fell through). That being said, I'd rather have something here than nothing here. Lot of missing teeth in Uptown right now after The Troubles. Hopefully, the suburbanites will come back to Uptown sometime in the not too distant future. read more

Came to LynLake Brewery to meet up with some friends, it was my first time here. Cool vibe about the place, I'm told there's a great patio upstairs. I started with the Take 6 With Peach and Smoked Lapsong Souchong Black Tea (IPA), wasn't a huge fan because it was a little too smokey in palette for my liking. I also tried a Belgian Tripel called Triangle Solo that's yeast-forward, with hints of bubble gum and corriander lingering behind a healthy candy sugar backbone, really a fan of this beer and at 8.9% ABV you're bound to have a great time! I ordered the Triple B burger (double patty, shaved fried onions, blue cheese crumbles, bacon bits, house-made balsamic glaze). It was really good but the blue cheese crumbles melted down to nothing, wished there were more of it, but the burger overall was great! Fries were good and crispy, left me satisfied and excited to try other burgers. LynLake Brewery is like a hidden gem for burgers and beers, will definitely be back next time I'm in Uptown! read more

Stopped here for a beer, looking for a rooftop experience. This was a great place for that. With views of the Minneapolis skyline on a beautiful spring night, this was a perfect stop. Beer selection is good and I opted for an IPA. Lots of picnic tables on the rooftop patio and we ended up sharing one with another couple. I love the bicycle tire lights above the inside bar. The front of the bar opens up so even if you are sitting inside, you can still get a taste of outdoors. We found a parking spot right across the street but I think that was lucky. We arrived just after trivia night had started on a Tuesday. There were quite a few mostly young people. We sat at the bar and the bartender took care of our drink order right away. I had the house made root beer which was good. My husband had the blueberry muffin top beer which he liked. We ordered food. I got the special of the month which was a grilled chicken sandwich. It wasn't dry and the toppings were very flavorful. My husband got the single burger with cheese and cheese curds. He said the burger was good and the cheese curds were cooked well. The newest Packer Bar in Minneapolis!! Yes Please! I had actually never been here before until going for a packer game, but I loved it. Staff were super great, lots of seating option both indoor and outside. Beer is excellent and they have a great variety. They also had deals for game day. There are quite a few TVs so not matter where you are sitting you should be able to catch the game. Another bonus is that LynLake has food! They have your typical bar food - burgers, fries, cheese curds. We tried the nachos and weren't really a fan especially for $15. Cheese curds were ok. Met up with old friends here on a Friday night around 8pm. The kitchen was pumping out food at that late hour which is always a good sign! The bartender recommended the chicken sandwich and it was really enjoyable... spicy with some kind of cabbagey slaw. Really good. Since I do not drink I had one of their Colas and it tasted like it was straight from one of those antique tin signs of a 1950s soda fountain. A perfect spot for our large group as we could sort of fluctuate chairs as folks arrived and departed. We had heard the food was great here and it was hard to tell if it was the truth or not, as there was a little window that offered bar food. I got the hot chicken sandwich and it was worth it, but very spicy. I really liked the fries and though they were the perfect texture. They have the option of turning them to truffle fries, if you are into that. I was designated driver, so decided to have 1 beer and chose the Strawberrian and my girlfriend had the Rhubarbara. They were both good, however the Strawberry was a little less tart so easier to drink. If you are looking for a non alcohol option, you need to try the root beer. I love a good burger and LynLake just nails it. I know a lot of times that breweries foods can be overpriced and frankly not that good, but LynLake is quite the exception. They have a huge selection of burgers including the special of the month which was the poutine burger featuring bacon, gravy, and cheese curds. I definitely would have ordered that if I was hungrier. I ended up choosing the smallest burger which was the single with cheese. Even though it was the smallest, it was still a pretty big burger. This is my favorite brewery in the area! Most importantly because they have good beer. (The names are also hilarious.) I'm a big fan of sours and dark beers, which they have - their Suck Me Sideways is my most go-to for a refreshing and tart kettle sour. Everyone else in the world who likes IPAs are happy with their IPA options too. I love the marquee sign outside - they're always changing it to clever little messages, and it's also super cute on the inside. It feels like they always have something going on. I'm a huge fan of live music but they also have things like paint classes it seems like pretty regularly. I haven't ever participated in those or even tried their food, but I would still consider myself a regular. Very cool place. read more

LynLake Brewery has been around a while and has a large space with passable beers and a vegan Impossible burger. I'm not wowed by it, but it's perfectly fine (hence the 3 star review). On beers, their "Suck Me Sideways" sour was decent, though slightly watery and more like punch than a beer. But at least they have a sour and recently added another I haven't tried yet. For food, I got the "Greenway" burger ($14) which is made with Impossible meat. The bun and burger were both decent, but the "avocado" they put on the burger is more like one of those fake spreads you get in the refrigerated aisle of a grocery store. That nearly ruined the thing. The crinkle fries that come with the burgers are fine. I wish they also had tater tots, though. If LynLake improved their beers and added a few more vegan options (how about a vegan fried chicken sandwich or a vegan cheesecake?) it might warrant another star. read more

Beer server with the bangs has a very bag energy and attitude. Came her with some regulars who love the beer and patio but want UMBRELLAs bcuz i am not going to get skin cancer ?? My job is to make money off looking good. She told us we had to move from the bar because she had people to serve. 1 hour later 4 people had come up to her and we would not have blocked there way. Any normal bar fills up and people just go up anyways to talk to the server. Why am I forced to get skin cancer for this ?!?! Literally absurd and the beer and location is good so it is a shame. The kitchen doesn't wear a hairnet here. I found a hair in my food and let the staff know and immediately got the cold shoulder. I think I was ignored the rest of the night but it was fine as I was done here anyway. They did offer to make my food over again but seeing as the problem wasn't resolved, no hair net, I wasn't going to order anything else. Came here with my girlfriend on a snowy Sunday afternoon just to get out of the house given that it is a few blocks from my apartments. Overall my experience was good. They have COVID protocols in place and I felt safe drinking indoors here. Tables were distanced and you really didn't interact with anyone except when you went to the bar(where the plexiglass separated you from the bartender) The beer was good! I got the cloudburster. What an awesome, airy space. I loved the use of bicycle wheels - so on point for Minneapolis - and them copper vessels for flights was awesome (and sturdy). As for the beers, I was surprised by how much I liked their scotch ale since it's not usually my go-to type. They have some cask beers available, and generally, the people working here were nice about getting a small swig before making a decision. There is wifi, though we were told it would not extend to the roof. There are some outlets against the side of the walls. The roof is lovely! There are umbrellas and a fire pit and a view of some of the MPLS skyscrapers. The elevator smelled a bit like piss. The elevator ride is short, though. Hold your breath! read more

We t there for a trivia night recently. The food was good, beer was great, and service was amazing. We went to a Friday night trivia which got very loud (to be expected at a Brewey). The section of beer was great and it all tasted great! Prices were very reasonable and the bartenders on duty were phenomenal. Very friendly and made for an awesome experience. Not sure I would go back for trivia, but would definitely return for food, drink, and atmosphere. Parking was not super easy, but there was a public ramp down the block. I'm aware that this is a personal preference but all of their beers are way too hoppy. Sometimes unnecessarily hoppy.
