This little shop apparently started out to be just what it's name states but has grown into so much more. The owners here are so welcoming which I found to be very refreshing, I have visited a number of clock shops over the years and have found the owners to be so focused on their craft that they come off as pretentious- definitely not the case here. This quaint little shop is filled with things from the past, most seem to be of higher quality but there are somethings that may have slipped by the owner's keen eye and are displayed for those of us collectors that look for the lesser valued items that are so rare to find in our field of collecting. I feel I have a decent eye for things of value and rarity so this visit although I didn't find the treasure I was looking for provided me with the anticipation all collectors live for. The owners were away today (7/21/19); the older gentleman (dealer) who replaced them was a sweetheart-- friendly & helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations. (Truly a great guy:) There was vintage furniture here, including antique furniture (100 years or older). There were even some really nice primitive pieces, such as a butler's sideboard (see pic). The glass items sold here are beyond reproach-- so many quality glass pieces (such as Fenton) in mint condition. Lots of Roseville & Hull pottery as well. Impressive collection of glassware & pottery at fair prices! Lots of vintage silver jewelry here, along with some 10k, 12k, & 14k pieces. I saw an extensive coin collection, & many vintage dolls & toys, Disney collectibles, as well as camping cookware, vintage tools, vinyl & CD's, mid century glassware, clocks, & lighting. (I could go on & on:) As someone who has spent considerable time antiquing over the years, this is a shoppe I would visit quite often if I lived closer. In searching for somewhere else I came across Little Bugs. I went in to sell some things and Amber was super sweet and easy to talk to. I did not shop the racks today but the store was organized and seemed to have a variety of things. My kids enjoyed checking out the toys while we waited. It is smaller than once upon a child (if that is what you are familiar with) but that did not affect the customer service and did not seem to affect the amount of inventory appropriate for the space. I'm happy to support a small business mommy and keep things in the local community by shopping and selling at Little Bugs. I will definitely be back to sell again and probably shop too!
