Overall this is a really nice, modern library. Huge space overall, with lots of computers, it seems, and a big kids/YA section too. The bathrooms are a bit old school / high school-ish, with tiny stalls. I usually stop by here when I have a book or two on hold, and the hold area inside is easy to find ... they also have an outdoor locker area of sorts you can use. For returns, there's an outdoor slot if you don't want to go into the library, but it's a bit hidden - it's on the side of the building closest to the USPS building across the street (East side of building, I believe, then). Overall, very nice library, I kinda just wish the walk from the parking lot to the entrance was shorter, especially in winter.

I went back today to work remotely, as I was already in the area for something else. The nostalgia! While things look updated and newer since my days, it still have pretty much the same layout as I remembered. It ended up being a really nice place to work remotely for the day. There's plenty of open seating with outlets. There are also a number of quiet individual booths (for phone calls/meetings) as well as group rooms. There's also a dedicated silent study room for extra quiet and focus. Vending machines with food and drink in the front, and of course, the library is adjacent to Heritage Park which is nice. Also, the children's section is large and adorable. The different sized doorways leading into it is exactly the same as when I was a kid decades ago :').

Lots of activities and fun things to do as well as a robust book collection. The book collection and the children's section are bolstered by an engaged, professional and helpful set of librarians and technicians who bring knowledge to life. The librarians can summon a book from one of their many partner libraries - or even from any library in the entire State of Michigan by using MelCat!

The room was very large and the doors were mostly soundproof, which was good because we had a lot of little kids attending the party too, LOL (who were a bit loud). I did use the family bathroom next door to it, at one point - it's very cute, with a tiny toilet for kids and a regular-sized one for adults. Unfortunately it did smell pretty badly, which is why this reviews is a 4-star one and not 5-star. The layout of the library reminded me a bit of the WB library (main branch, on Walnut Lake Rd) and it's a very large building. Overall it looked very nice.

The librarians are incredibly informative and genuinely friendly--they're always ready to help whether you're tracking down a book, using the computers, or just looking for a quiet spot to work. One of my favorite parts? The café inside! The drinks and snacks are great, and best of all--the proceeds go to support Novi schools. It feels good to grab a coffee knowing you're helping the local education system. There are also plenty of study areas, meeting rooms, and a great children's section that makes it easy to bring little ones along. Nate and I were in town for work and needed a spot to do some remote work, so we stopped by this branch of AADL. The website said they didn't open until 10 am, so I was surprised to see people walking around inside the library and using the study rooms well before 10 am. There is a Sweetwaters attached and it seems like they have an arrangement with the library for cafe visitors to use part of the library space even before the library officially opens. I originally chose this location due to its easy parking and study rooms, but we set up at one of the tables near the cafe as the study rooms were already full. They were like little fishbowls - just a glass room with no actual door. The front of the library got a little bit loud at times, but it worked okay for us. There were many people working and browsing the library while we were there. The library is a lot larger than I was expecting for a branch in a mall, and I had fun exploring the used books for sale as well as the records they had to check out. Towards the back of the library is a "reading room," which was a quieter space with a fireplace, bigger tables, and cozy chairs. That was a popular area and it filled up quickly. I'll definitely be coming back soon!

There are free workshops for several resume boosting programs and the staff (especially meeeee) is always friendly and helpful. The steps facing the Diag are iconic, and the South entrance is pretty much a wind vortex to be avoided at all costs in cold weather.

Arched ceilings and natural wood make you happy to be inside. Did you know the building was designed by famous architect, Albert Kahn???? A note of warning for the rest of the library: it is incredibly easy to get lost in the stacks. I went to library school and have found myself, on numerous occasions, so lost I had to use a service exit!

I tagged along because even though I don't have an AADL card, I love libraries. I browsed the used book section up at the front, which had a lot of great titles and many looked brand new. Most of the books were $2 with some that I saw for $5. I ended up buying two books that caught my eye - luckily they take Apple Pay because I left my wallet in my backpack at their house. This was such a nice experience and I would love to come back to this branch in the future.

This library is also very child-friendly. There are small computer monitors on desks adjusted to children's heights they can use to play games on. I really appreciate how pro-public health AADL libraries are - the staff mask and there are free masks and tests provided for those who need them. There is ample parking next to the library. I also notice this library is next to a couple walkable neighborhoods - jealous of the residents here who can easily walk to and visit the library! There are open glass study rooms available at this location. If there is anything you want to borrow here that's normally located at another library branch, you can request a transfer of your desired item to this location and pick it up when it's ready to go. So convenient. Love this place, will definitely be back!
