We came there, with high hopes and excitement and we experienced left us deeply disappointed , because of the way the situation was handled.
Our soon to be 15-year-old daughter, ordered what appeared to be a beans dish ( in the brisket), hearty, comforting, and visibly not marked as overly spicy. She ate it with no problem until the end of her meal, when she bit into a large piece of red chili that was so intensely hot it made her nearly faint. She couldn't breathe properly for several minutes, and we were genuinely worried.
This was not a case of "not liking spicy food" because she loves spicy food, this was a health concern ! A whole piece of extra-hot chili like that should never end up whole in a dish, especially not without clear warning. This was not just "heat", it was dangerously overwhelming.
When I went to inform the staff, the response I received was shockingly dismissive. The servers, clearly very young and untrained for this kind of situation, simply said, "It's not for kids." But this wasn't a child asking for ketchup on pasta, this was someone physically unwell from a dish that was poorly balanced and harmful.
And worse: the chef in the kitchen, instead of showing concern or offering to make things right, visibly reacted with anger. From the kitchen, I could see him upset, not about what happened, but because I had dared to say something ! Not a single apology. No "Thank you for telling us." No offer of a replacement or a gesture of goodwill. Nothing.
In any respectable restaurant, especially one that claims culinary excellence, this would not be acceptable. A professional team:
Listens to feedback without ego,
Apologizes when something goes wrong,
And makes a small gesture to show care , a dessert, a drink, or simply a few kind words.
What happened instead was pride, silence, and a complete lack of accountability.
I didn't speak up to cause trouble. I spoke up to protect your future guests. Because what happened to us was not normal, and ignoring it is unprofessional.
Also, the outdoor tables were extreamly dirty. There were old stains on the wood, and it felt neglected, which is not what one expects from a restaurant run by a chef with a prestigious background.
We left feeling disappointed and disrespected. And for a place that has such potential, that's a real shame.
I contacted directly the restaurant afterwards by email and instagram : no answer... Thats a shame... read more
