It's been 4 years and I still consider Mr. James the best auto mechanic I've met. He got me back on the road as quickly as possible, and saved my trip.

Driving back to Texas from Alabama, out car started making a high pitched screeching sound, late afternoon on a Friday. We got lucky and pulled into a Wal-Mart, but they don't do repair work. An employee however said he knew someone close by who owns a shop, and he called him. Within MINUTES, the owner showed up and took a look. Honestly, we have had bad luck with mechanics, doing bad work and charging exhorbitante fees, we were prepared for the worst, the engine sounded terrible and we were in small town MS, we figured an overnight stay and pricey repair bill. We got the car to their shop, granted, not impressive in appearance, but they had a group of guys, late in the day on Friday, when they were preparing to go home for the night. The owner identified a badly shredded serpentine belt as the issue. They obtained a replacement then noticed the pulleys were very bad, again, we were fully prepared for the full "gotcha" repair price. The got replacement pulleys, did the full repair. I had googled estimates for similar repairs and I was prepared for a 2x- 3x the average repair for the bill. Not only was it not, it was on the lower end of the expected repair range and they did it in an incredible time frame for a family of 4 that really needed to get back on the road. I don't give many 5 stars, but this place easily earned it, and a few more stars if I could, very highly recommended, unfortunately they are not local to me, otherwise they would be my repair/maintenance shop of choice going forward.

Griffis Motors - 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk For Sale in Philadelphia, MS

I was robbed today at Griffis Motors, Philadelphia, MS. I…read morecalled yesterday (1/10/24) to ask about REMOTE START being added to my car. There's supposedly a dealer code that will add it if you have push button start and the right remote. "What do I do for that to happen?" I asked. "We have one key fob here and it's about $350 + tax" was the reply. I agreed to come in the next day (1/11/24). When I walked in, I gave my name and said I had called yesterday about REMOTE START for my car. The person I talked to walked me back to the shop. When I spoke to the young man there, I said I had come to get REMOTE START added to my car. I gave him my insurance card so he could get the VIN. He looked at it a moment and I said it was for the Jeep because the Suzuki already had REMOTE START. I only needed REMOTE START added to the Jeep. He quoted around $450 to me. I was surprised but didn't comment. Later, they changed it back to $372 total because I didn't get the valet key. Still no statement from them that they couldn't do REMOTE START for me, they could only program a new key fob. I waited less than an hour, paid my bill ($372.58) and left. On driving away, I realized I hadn't asked how the REMOTE START worked, plus my radio was off and I didn't know how to turn it back on. I went back to the dealership. I went in and told them about the radio. When the young man from the shop came, he said it would just be a moment. Then I asked how the REMOTE START worked. He said that my car wasn't programmed for REMOTE START. I knew then I had been duped. Actually, I think everyone made a stupid mistake but I knew then they wouldn't own up to it. The usual BS started. "Who told you you could get REMOTE START?" Doesn't matter - your dealership told me. "You must have said 'key fob' and we misunderstood." No. I repeatedly said REMOTE START and nothing else. "We can do the REMOTE START for $1000 + labor. And I'll even give you $150 refund for the key fob." You know ... the one I didn't need that I had now. Bottom line - they refuse to refund my money. I have a key fob I didn't need and no REMOTE START which I did need. I cannot in good conscience recommend Griffis Motors to anyone.

For a small dealership they have always been great on the price of the vehicle. The service department can be a little slow sometimes but they are always willing to work with you if they can.
