M&M auto body did fantastic work on my vehicle. my vehicle came back cleaner then when it went in.

Absolute disappointment . I trusted this shop based on past experiences because they used to be helpful. We are not just returning customers. We have used them several times over the years and have referred many people to them. I sent my child there for a second opinion after he was sandwiched in an accident, and needed a second opinion because the first shop couldn't find parts. I made an appt last week and explained the situation and that this was a second opinion and we needed also help finding parts. Steve told us to come back today, so we did. My son went in, Steve completely forgot the purpose of the visit, started questioning my son, then my son told me "the manager guy is angry and calling you" I said ok. Steve calls me, I re explain the situation, he says "your son says he doesn't plan to fix the car" (all while having a rude tone with me). I let him know that obviously we will be fixing it-- that's why we are bringing it to the body shop, to which "Steve" replied, "I'm not doing an inspection for free." I calmly asked (in my raspy voice because I'm sick), "How much would you like me to pay for the inspection?" He immediately snapped, "I can sense a tone in your voice so I'm not doing the inspection because of your attitude," and proceeded to yell at me (with my son standing in front of him) so I hung up. I am currently recovering from pneumonia, so no, I don't have a chipper, lady-like voice right now. The fact that he chose to yell at me in front of my child over "tone" is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. To be treated this way as a loyal, repeat customer who has supported and referred business to this shop is beyond disrespectful. It is also worth noting that the only person who replies to negative reviews appears to be the very individual I am describing here, which makes this experience even more concerning. I will not be returning. If you value being spoken to with basic respect, I suggest you take your business elsewhere. I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB.. And all the recommendations I made for them with my community, I'm retracting. Never again. read more

Steve examined the scratches on my rear passenger door and pointed out some dents. He gave me an estimate on the spot and, unlike the dealership, could use the original rubber protection on the bottom of the door. He completed the job in about three days for $1600 less than the dealership's body shop. If I ever have to use a body shop again, I would not hesitate to return to the same merchant. read more

I was there to get an estimate to fix the rusted rocker panels on my 2013 Ford Fusion, they gave me an estimate that I considered was too much to invest in my 11 year old car so I decided not to fix it there, one week later they sent me a letter asking to call them back to negotiate a better deal, I did and we agreed to a better deal and a date to drop my car off in two more weeks. Three days before the date we set up over the phone I called them to ask what time they opened to drop my car off, they told me 8am, I told them I will be there at 8 am that date and they say that was ok. Well when I get there to drop my car off they couldn't remember who I was or what car I was dropping off, finally they look into the computer after I reminded them about our past calls and printed out my estimate, but guess what? they simply told me they never put me on schedule after I took a couple days off off work and arrange to have a friend to drive me to work. They offered to take me in next week but the owner I suppose, the guy in the wheelchair didn't even apologized about their unprofessional customer service and the hassle they caused me, I even felt his attitude kind of rude yelling from the other room but never came out to speak to me directly, I don't know if this is the way they treat everyone or it was because I am a Hispanic person with an accent but I will definitely never recommend this body shop to anybody. read more

I brought my car to M & M because it had scratches all over it from a dog the previous owner's had I wasn't sure if any of the scratches would come out But after talking to them ,I was filled with confidence that it would be taken care of. After it was done I went to pick it up & seen what looked like my car but it looked too perfect. After realizing that it was my car ,I was floored. They do good work, although their price is a little high. I can go to an actual dealership and get the job done cheaper. Last time I was there, I had to sit in the office and listen to them justify their pricing. I don't need to hear that. Either lower the price or lose me to someone that does the same work cheaper. I'd recommend them simply based on the quality of work they do. Get a good deal on pricing, and then you have a winning combination. read more

I had an accident and selected M&M Auto Body as the place to have my car towed to. I recently moved to Madison and did not have time to shop around and ask folks where they recommend. Instead, I took a chance....and a very good chance this was!! Mike was great. He made everything hassle free. He was speedy to write up an estimate and I felt was fair. He took me out into the shop and showed me item by item on the estimate sheet, what it meant and pointed out on my car what the cost was for. I am female and do not know anything about cars/parts and he made me comfortable that I wasn't being ripped off. Mike offered a rental car to me while we were waiting on the insurance to make their decision on repairs or total loss. When they finally decided to total out the car, Mike continued to let me use the rental car for a couple of days, while I found a new car to purchase. M&M Auto Body was professional and outstanding. After living all over WI and interacting with many mechanics for various reasons, this experience tops them all, BY A LONG STRETCH! Highly recommended! I've had two experiences with M&M Auto Body - and honestly if I ever get another scratch or fender-bender a small part of me will be think "Well at least I get to give Mike some business again!" (well, I moved to NYC recently - but if I were still in Madison! and seriously he's so good I would consider driving all the way to Wisco just to use his incredible service). Mike and his crew are simply the best you could ask for. I had to replace the fender/flare/lamp of my Jeep Wrangler - I checked several shops and they were all good, and when I rolled up to Mike's I was a little cautious about its humble looks. But then I walked in and the first thing I noticed was a wall FULL of thank-you cards and before/after photos of the work Mike's been doing for what - maybe 30 years? My first impression of Mike was that he was earnest. I'm sure he was able to tell that I had no idea what I was talking about when it came to cars and he was still honest with all of the answers to my questions (I fact-checked later). This is ultimately why I went with him (he was also about $500 cheaper than the other shops I spoke with). He recommended getting third-party new parts because they're reliable and cheaper than just getting new parts from the original manufacturer. I said I wanted to try and shop around junkyards to find replacement parts. He said it was fine, gave me a good website to use, and that he'd let me buy and ship anything I find to his place and they'll try to work with it. That's amazing customer service IMO. So I found a really cheap fender/flare/lamp from some junkyard for maybe 25% of the price I would have paid for all the parts. When it got shipped to them however the fender was really rusty. They had me come in and showed me the part and I agreed it was basically unusable. However, they were still able to use the fare and lamp and I still saved maybe $50, so it was worth it to me. We ended up buying a third party fender like they originally suggested, and my Jeep was ready within days afterwards. And it looked amazing! Way above and beyond - his team gave the car a real good, thorough cleaning on top of the replacement work. I was really blown away. You couldn't tell it was a replacement part at all. My second experience with Mike was just as good. M&M HAS A MONTHLY RAFFLE FOR A FULL DETAIL JOB ON YOUR CAR!! I entered the raffle when I got my fender replaced, thinking nothing of it. But then a few months later Mike gave me a call and said I'd won, which was great! I brought in my Jeep, and a day later he said he was done. I wish I could upload a picture or something of a before/after of my Jeep. It was glowing - full wax, sparkling tires, the interior was unreal with how clean it was. Simply amazing. And free! Just one more reason for you to go to Mike's. Basically, go to Mike's. He's the best around - you couldn't find a more honest, stand up team of mechanics anywhere. Brought a car to M&M, and had an estimate done. Would have costed too much for repairs, so it was totalled. I had to get the rest of my crap out of the car, but had a problem with rusted on license plates. Mike stopped what he was doing and helped me cut the license plate off, even though they wouldn't have any of my business. He even remembered my name from when I brought the car in the previous week. He also gave me info for a bunch of different salvage places to sell my car to, and was very generous regarding storage charges after having my car there for a week and a half. This place is pretty awesome. I needed to get a door handle repaired and I called around to several different places before landing at M&M Auto Body. They quoted me the lowest price and made time for me to come in the next day when I told them I needed it done soon. Took it in, waited in the office for around an hour (used their complimentary WiFi to get some work done), and voila! Door handle fixed. Really happy with the service and the price! FYI: They charge a fee if you use a credit card, so bring a debit card or cash. read more

Normally I go into places like this expecting to get old magician trip of watch the left hand so you don't see what the right is doing. But I was TOTALLY surprised and pleased at how well my experience was. My wife and I worked with Greg, and he made everything as smooth as possible. We got the estimate fast, including a timetable as to when the car would be done (and it was done on time), constant contact as to when things would get started and what was going on. Greg even helped get the rental car and insurance stuff set up so all I had to do was show up at the rental office and get the car. I was even able to leave the rental at M&M and he took car of the pick-up. I can not recommend this place highly enough for anyone needed auto body work. read more

Took my car, which I dented and scraped on a cement wall, there. I wanted OEM parts, and their staff knew just how to do it. I had another car repaired at a different shop before, and the paint never quite matched in the sun. M&M said it was because the colors are never quite the same (and they weren't) so they blend paint on the entire side of the car so you can't tell. They're right! My car looks brand new and there no difference in color in the sun! Customer service was top-shelf from working with my insurance company to helping with my car rental. Almost made getting my car fixed painless, except for my deductible. . I would highly recommend these professionals!! The car looks fantastic again! UPDATE: my car got tapped hard by a cab and I took it to M&M. They were a huge help with the other guy's insurance company, but more than that, they fixed the bumper and detailed the car...exceeded my expectations. Why would you go anywhere else? read more

My daughter had just graduated from college in upstate NY and we were driving from NY to Oregon in June 2014. In Madison, we thought we broke a rear spring, but the rusted body had actually collapsed and broken under the weight we were carrying. We were referred to M&M. Here we were, from out of town, just passing through, with a car full of belongings and even our 20 year old turtle. Perfect set up for a rip off, right? Not at M&M. We received outstanding service - and at a very fair price! The entire staff at M&M were caring and professional. All our belongings were unloaded from the wagon. Even the turtle was looked after for the day while M&M loaned us a car so we could tour Madison. They worked late that night for total strangers, reconstructing the body to hold the spring in place, so we could get back on the road that very evening. It was a work of art when they were done. The car was reloaded, turtle too, and we continued on our 2800 mile journey climbing mountainous terrain, visiting the Badlands and Tetons. It is now 6 months later; the 94 Escort wagon is still structurally sound, cruising my daughter around Portland and over the many mountains on her Oregon adventures. M&M ordered the wrong rear fender-bumper for my Prius. They guy even said it was a mistake, but when I complained that I had sat waiting for it and they had promised it would be done the same day and now it was going to take another visit, THEN they insisted it was actually the correct part, not to worry, and they forced it on - but it popped out later and it still pops open at the seam. Push it in and it pops out as soon as I drive away. I went back some time later and they still insisted it was correct, forced it back again and of course it still pops open Ever since l always choose Auto Color! M&M body shop sucks and they are liars. Overly friendly, but that's not what I needed. Don't ever expect them to get it done with the correct parts when you bring it back and they promise that it will be repaired while you wait. read more

Best experience I could've asked for. They did an exceptional job with the repairs, and the car looked better after they worked on it than it did before the accident! They had to replace the fender, bumper, and a few other things, and they managed to match the paint perfectly. I'm pretty particular about my vehicles, so I made it clear that I wanted specific parts and close attention to detail. I felt that the staff listened to my requests thoroughly and were very transparent with me through the whole process. After the initial assessment, there were some extra parts needed. They made sure to update me on the changes ASAP and ask about part preferences since this was something I was particularly concerned about in our previous discussions. Despite the extra work, they still completed the job on time, and I was so surprised at how well they did. To no fault of M&M, my insurance company sent the reimbursement check to M&M instead of the insurance policy holder as I had requested, but the M&M staff realized this before I did and handled it for me. By the time I called M&M, it was already sorted out and I received the check shortly after. They certainly seem to be honest, plus they're local! Highly recommend! read more

I dread places like this - they smell weird, they deal with stuff I know nothing about, and I just never know what to make of what they're telling me. M & M came recommended by our mechanic, whom we trust implicitly, so that helped. It also helped that Mike was really straight-forward and the service was fast and good. We had a stupid repair - the lower corner of the door was bent because we had some ice caught in the space between the door and the body of the car and cranked on the door a few times before we realized what was going on, which also took some paint off the car. Mike sent us an estimate the same day I had stopped by. It seemed really high but it was for bending the door back and doing a fancy paint job on the whole front panel. Our car is 11 years old and the spot was not in an obvious place, so when my husband called him back and asked what the non-fancy option would be, it got really reasonable AND they did a great job. Also, it was in and out the same day. Ultimately, a surprisingly painless interaction with a very responsive, competent staff that obviously takes pride in its work and how it does business. Since I first took my 2001 BMW 330ci to M&M Auto Body in 2010, they have continually impressed me with their excellent customer service and quality repair work. My BMW is looking and running like a much younger car thanks to them. They've repaired crash damage, replaced door hinges, and a bunch of other little things to keep my car on the road. The paint they apply always matches perfectly. This week, I took my car to M&M because a couple of body panels were coming loose and water was leaking into my trunk. The owner, Ming Miyagawa called me the next day later to tell me it was ready for pickup. I was sad to hear that Mike Miyagawa, the other half of M&M, passed away a short time ago, but Ming is doing an excellent job of running the business. With longtime employees like Steve and Greg helping out in the office and an unseen bunch of talented people in the shop, the business is still at the top of the list for Madison, Wisconsin auto body repair shops. The interior of my car looked like a rancher's pickup truck when I dropped it off because I was doing a landscaping job and hauling bales of hay the day before. I've never had to look for an auto body shop before (what can I say, I drive good) but after an unfortunate incident involving a shopping cart and my driver's side mirror, I found myself in the market for one. I chose M&M based on reviews here and was definitely not disappointed. Their estimate was fair (cheap, even!) and they stuck to it. They went out of their way to find a used part to save me some money. They were able to fit me in despite a packed schedule that week (we'd had a lot of snow and therefore a lot of fender benders), had me in and out in very good time, and the repair looks great.
