Brought in my car to this shop because the brakes pedal felt spongy and soft. I had an extra set of…read morebrake pads in the trunk of my car in case they were needed. That was not the case. The pads they replaced DID NOT need to be replaced. The old pads were still almost new and I have the old pads to prove it. I did not instruct them to change any brake pads. I asked them to see why the brakes felt spongy and soft when applied. The Owner of this repair shop Dudley, completely disregarded the original problem and just slapped on the new brake pads and charged me. Now the brakes still have the original problem with a constant squealing now when the brakes are applied. When I questioned him he became defensive and basically did not want to deal with my car unless I spent more money to now replace all the brake rotors which is ridiculous. They now have created an added problem with this car. If he could not solve the original problem, all he had to do was call me and keep informed of the situation, not just go ahead on their own to charge me to replace something which they had no business replacing

They put the car on the lift, drove it around, and told me I needed to get the brakes replaced. They quoted me $650 for off-brand, and $850 for dealership brakes. They charged me $50 for the assessment. Because it was going to be an expensive repair, I decided to go to my regular mechanic (Larry at L & W in Rutherford, a truly excellent mechanic!). Larry showed me that there was actually very little wear on my brakes and that the issue was that the e-brake cable had broken. He charged me $87 for the repair, and was baffled that anyone had looked at my brakes and decided there was anything wrong with them. These guys are either crooks or just very, very incompetent mechanics.
