Recently I had a question come up from the IRS and they asked for a response date by a certain date. I tried to engage with Arshad and he repeatedly told me that he is too busy taking care of his other customers whose taxes were due September 15. I expect a responsible tax mgr would not leave me hanging like this. I will be going to someone else moving forward and I warn others - Do not trust AH Accounting, he may leave you hanging when you need him the most. PLEASE REMOVE MY PHOTO FROM YOUR LISTING!!! But the whole experience was unprofessional and ultimately unhelpful when it came to doing our actual taxes. First, I didn't hear anything from them for a couple of weeks after our initial meeting. It required me following up to get an update. And then I had specifically asked for a heads up on whether we were likely to owe any taxes, since we were self-employed the past year and unclear whether we were paying sufficient estimated taxes. In the end, I got a response a couple of days before taxes were due to be filed with a report that we $12K in taxes. There was a potential to open an IRA to lowering our tax liability but with no guidance on how to do that and only 2 days to spare we just paid the bill. I would not recommend working with these folks. They seem like nice enough people but were either overwhelmed this tax season or understaffed. Either way, that exactly what you count on a tax account to be prepared for and they clearly failed.
