They have no real window that allows their people to look out on the world. They do have a camera system set up that allows the user to see the person, while you still don't see them. I personally wouldn't use this bank, but, if the money is in it for her and she likes it, I seem to not be able to do anything about that. Change it so you can actually make REAL eye-contact with your customer. Cameras just aren't enough!

And it isn't just the whole Red Hook branch that get's me wondering how they are getting away with these high rates for so long? I was in here a few times during 2011(mainly to change coins to bills and bills to coins) and each time I felt like this was the wrong decision to make. I know it was an even switch, but it just doesn't seem like this is a reputable place. I mean, the floors look clean and all, so it's not that, but something else; it's just not right what their customers have to go through, when they bank with M&T. It seems like they have fees for all sorts of things(even more than what Bank of America is beginning to charge their customers). I don't know. My mom left the bank, my grandma left the bank, and so did my father. It used to be an okay bank to use, when it was First National of Rhinebeck/of the Hudson Valley, but now, well, I'm never going to use it, unless I'm changing money from one to another or simple transactions that don't involve saving money, here.

It is difficult too talk with a representative when you call branch. You're transferred to the main number that thinks nothing of leaving you on hold for 30 min or more. The communication between bank representatives and the customer is very poor. The two employees that I met with when I opened my accounts are no longer there. There were changes made to my account that I wasn't notified about before hand. There was one time that I sat at the drive up for 45 min for the teller to correct their mistake.

They are committed to something long lost, client service, and real interactions with those who are customers. I have experienced it from every single person I have dealt with at various branches. The manager, Missy, and the assistant manager, Zak have both made sure to reach out to me on different occasions with personal service. I am just a regular customer. I do not have a lot of money. I am not a wealthy client. And yet, they treat me as if I was a billionaire. I wish all businesses were as good as this bank. Life for us as consumers would be heaven.
