Active Flow - Septic system installation

Tim and his team have been awesome. They handled septic maintenance for my home for 4 years. Most…read morecompetitive pricing around. Professional and flexible with scheduling. Wish I had them do the initial installation. I'll keep recommending them even though we just sold our home and no longer need their services.

The technician Tyler Leqve was sent over to remove the toilet and replace the ring although I was surprised since it hadn't been replaced all that long ago. Although this house was build in 1950, we have all original matching fixtures in our bathroom. A little over a month later, water was again noticed on the floor. The technician came over and took photos showing the leak was actually happening between the water tank and the toilet, which had been regularly maintained for it's lifetime with. So one of two things probably happened: 1) the original problem was misdiagnosed and we were charged $214 for the wrong problem, or 2) the problem was correctly diagnosed, and the toilet removal caused damage to the seal between the water tank and toilet. I don't believe in coincidences and doubt that the toilet randomly damaged it's seal without the movement to replace the wax seal. When I asked Tim Smith about the situation, 1) he denied causing the damage, 2) said he would not fix the damage, 3) recommended I buy a new toilet, and then, 4) hung up on me. Not only did he fail to warranty his work, but I suspect that his technician caused this problem. Smith was extremely rude. His incompetence has caused my lovely 79-year old female renter who has 2 knee replacements, 1 hip replacement, and is recovering from a broken leg - to have to deal with sopping up water from the bathroom floor, until we could find another plumber (3 days later). In conclusion, Active Flow deserves a negative -5 stars. Smith shows extremely poor customer service, and either a) failed to fix the initial misdiagnosed issue, or b) caused another one which has cost me more money to repair. I'll be filling a complaint against him with the Oregon Construction Contractors Board.

West Coast Remodeling - Sam and Sara Bonner

After calling several contractors who didn't call back, I was so happy to get a quick call back…read morefrom West Coast. Sam, the owner, and Sara, his wife and scheduler, were kind and professional during the entire process of having an external door put into our house. The quote was reasonable and communication was great when we needed a few more parts to complete the job. The end result was just what we wanted: a beautifully sealed exterior door. Sam and his crew were friendly and completed the job quickly. I can't imagine a more wonderful experience and Sam's expertise is obvious in his conversation, work ethic, and quality of work. Thanks Sam!

In the beginning I felt confident that this company would professionally complete the projects, but when Sam showed up to install my deck using pavers (normally a 'deck' is built with wood; the pavers were meant for a pathway along side the deck), I knew this was not going to go well, thus a wasted day with him driving to Roseburg to get the required materials. I had to remind him to bring paperwork (like a contract with the specifics and maybe a license printed on it like it should be, not proposal forms). (uh, this is Oregon...Not Texas), uneven when walked across, over-cut around the posts, concrete chunks left around the posts embeded in the mounds of dirt (should have been leveled out), screws up to a 1/4" deep...and then refused to complete the job with the shade cloth I bought for a cover which I had to hire someone else to complete. Then there's the front storm door installed that ended up striking the existing porch roof which he remedied by lifting the roof without even at least loosening the brackets that held the roof in place and left it that way until the next morning when I told him before anything else, he needed to fix. The brackets were ripped away from the house. He also 'trimmed' the three beams above so the door could be opened, which adds to the shoddy job performed. He then handed me the bump-closer kit and said I probably wouldn't use this and I said I would think about that but since the door would not stay closed with the slightest touch (my cats could easily open it), let alone the intense wind that rips across the property. I did a little research after having to request all warranty info on both doors installed, and found an Aluminum Storm Door Protector Chain instead which would be much safer, I was told I would have to pay extra. I also had another contractor come assess the issue and told me (as he removed and fixed the lock put together wrong so wouldn't lock at all; took all but five minutes to figure out) I should have my contractor come add another strike plate to make it close properly. After Sam's sudden and LOUD response to my refusal to pay the whole balance (I was going withhold a small amount to ensure these issues were resolved), flailing his arms in the air with clipboard in hand, it was quite unnerving. Communications to resolve issues were made by emails , "The spacing was done on purpose and I'm guessing you want to have exposed screw heads? Spacing was done based on you wanting to replace the porch you have now.. when I come I will replace that one board and turn over the necessary boards. Don't know when I'll be there. We will call when we have time." And this finalized my decision to never let this person near my property ever again, "You ruined a good day for us. It wasnt taken lightly. Who is we, your neighbor....lol? I have a full week so we will try to squeeze it in somewhere. I know the work is good. We don't do crap work, we did good work and did good by you. We just did it all too cheap." Cheap? I do not agree since you added an extra $900 onto my tab for your ignorance that decks are made of wood, not concrete pavers. And when a client specifies four times that the doors were to be installed first, most important, don't show up to start a job upon your preferences. Hopefully the Local contractors in Coos Bay County will heed my warning when they pass on/sub-contract jobs to West Coast Shower Doors because they should consider their own reputations when this company is performing such unprofessional results.
