I landed on the Winemaker's Tasting, which included 4, one ounce pours, including Blancs de Blancs, Albarino, Barbera and Merlot. I paired the tasting with the a BYOB board. From their menu I picked the olives, Afterglow, and the Tempesta Guanciale. The server was educated on the wines was able to walk me through the tasting and pairings but gave me independence and autonomy to enjoy at my own leisure and pace. Last week from LA Blues Angel Brigitte Purdy singing Blues, Soul and Gospel tinged songs we all love (the audience was on their feet), The duo of Darryl Wright and Susan Williams double bass slayed our hearts with Angel From Montgomery. From Germany our new favorite Blues son in Chicago Stefan Hillensheim stirred our souls (his new baby Layla was there) and keeping the beat Stephen Bass on drums. "Tangerine Dream" session mead, which was lightly carbonated (tasted like a dreamsicle float, as opposed to the classic style of mead which is more viscous and not unlike a liqueur in texture). Both were very tasty, and this was a nice way to try different styles. My fiance had a mocktail with pineapple and passion fruit that still fit into the tiki vibe. Our server was attentive enough to be helpful but in the background enough to not be pestering us; good balance. While they don't serve food themselves, watch their social media for the rotation of visiting restaurants; we had amazing duck fat buffalo wings and sweet potato fries from Dak Dak Wings in Villa Park!
