What a great place!! Perfect to go relax and have a few drinks at. The bartender here is SUPER nice, and very helpful if you are curious about the different cocktails they have on the menu. Its a little bit of a small bar, and can fill up easy... but there the couches/chairs are nice and comfy! Some other really cool stuff - they play vintage movies on the two TVs over the bars, they dont have a menu but you can order delivery from other restaurants, and there is live jazz music a couple days a week. read more

I really like it here. I've been a few times and enjoyed it greatly. nice quaint spot, just my speed. I've only ever been on a saturday night. I don't like the music they play, but I usually meet nice people here. the bartenders are so nice and attentive (the 2 ladies always compliment my makeup, lol) definite "A+" for service. I can agree with another Yelper...there are a few creepers here, but they buy drinks and don't hover over you (usually), so it's cool ;) It's small, but I'm always able to find a seat to enjoy my time.. Servers know how to pour drinks. I am a fan of good liquor . . . Bookers anyone? Their martini's are also top notch and there are a couple pages worth of selections. Call me a prude but I am too offended to return. We stopped in for an after dinner cocktail after a much needed date night without the baby. My husband went to the restroom when I looked through the drink menu. It was quite empty which was fine with me. The bartender seemed nice enough when he brought us water. When my husband returned, he said in the men's restroom, there was a photo of a woman lying on a bed with butt in the air and her vagina front and center. At first I chuckled and 2 seconds later, I realized it was not funny and this was not a place I wanted to patronize. We went to Acadia for great cocktails instead. I just kept thinking. That is the kind of crap that can make a date for a single girl that much worse. I didn't stick around long enough to confirm whether or not there were photos of large dicks in the women's bathroom but I would imagine that answer is no. read more

I've been going to M Lounge for a looooooong time, but I've only been on a Fri/Sat nite. They do have live music during the week, which I heard is awesome! M Lounge is small, but cozy. It has low lighting and candles for an elegant and sexy ambiance. There's comfortable couches and chairs as well as seats along the bar. It's a great place to have drinks with your GF/BF/friends/colleagues. Whether it's crowded or not, the staff and patrons are always friendly. No meat market or creepers here! It's mainly a nice professional Black crowd of both singles and couples ages 30-60, but any race/age would definitely feel comfortable and have a good time. The dress code of the patrons is typically business/smart casual or trendy. For the gents, jeans with a nice jacket/sweater/collared shirt is fine. For the ladies, jeans with a cute top and heels is perfect. Those wearing 3 piece head gear (doo rag, head band & baseball hat), white t's, sagging pants or hoochie mama dresses with hooker heels should keep it moving past 1520 Wabash. M Lounge is also a great place to celebrate your special ocassion. I actually celebrated my birthday there twice. Drink prices are comparable to other more upscale drinking establishments. This is not a "bar" or a "club". This is a lounge. If you are looking for a $2 PBR, jello shots or a $5 glass of box wine, M Lounge is not your place. I usually get Macallan 12 or 18. They have a good selection of wine, spirits & cordials and a limited selection of beer. For the non-drinkers, you can order non-alcoholic and coffee drinks. Unfortunately they do not serve food, but they do have a catering menu for planned parties/events. Reggie, the owner, is friendly and ensures his patrons are taken care of, which is great! Charlton, Trillion and Crystal (hope I spelled their names correctly) are all awesome!!! Overall, M Lounge is a GREAT place to socialize and have drinks. Georgous place..there's a huge bar and a bunch of comfy chairs so you can take your pick. What really keeps me coming back are the owners and the killer bartenders. Every time I've walked through the door I've always been greeted warmly and that's big to me. This is also one of the few places where I've been able to walk in, tell the bartender what mood I'm in, and have him pick the perfect drink that just fits. Another big plus is the live music. I freaking LOVE this place! Made a reservation a week in advance but realized when I walked in I probably didn't need one as there were open tables and seats at the bar. No valet but we found parking on the street. Very cozy and intimate lounge with great music and deliciously strong drinks. Friendly staff..even the security guard was nice lol. This is a cool place! It is very laid back and quaint. The drinks are very good. I personally like the martini made with Ciroc vodka and white grape juice (can't remember the name). This place is the real deal. I visited M Lounge on Tuesday night during one of their live jazz nights. Eclectic crowd, classy ambience, and perhaps one of the friendliest bartenders that I've ever encountered. We asked him to make some off-menu martinis, and he delivered with gusto. This is a great place to hear talented musicians in an intimate setting. I have been here many times and never been disappointed. I would have assigned a higher rating if not for one thing. I was here for drinks with a friend a couple of weeks ago on a Thursday evening. It was pretty dead when we first got there but eventually people trickled in. The setup is really cute and cozy. The place is small and a good spot to have drinks after a date or with friends. I had the chocolate martini and it was really good. I came in on a Friday night with friends after having a drink around the corner. We weren't expected but were able to snag one of the back booth for a quick private party. This bar is extremely slender and there are not many seats and it gets crowded really fast. If you have more than 6 people with you, you might want to try up north somewhere where you can breathe for a little bit. Also I ordered a whiskey and they gave it to me in a martini glass which I have never seen before. Most of the drink spilled on my clothes. But they played Barber Shop which is pretty funny so there's that. And the doorman was very nice and accommodating. overall not terrible but the bar is not my favorite. read more

Very nice and aesthetically pleasing space. It's small, but not so small that you feel like you're sitting on top of people or offending people by putting your azz in their faces as you pass by. Went on a Friday night. They wanted to check my coat for $2 but didn't say that up front. There were seats available but they didn't notice so we waited fifteen minutes for nothing. This is a very cool place to go, relax & listen to live music on Tuesday's and Wednesdays. On Wednesday's I suggest arriving early if you want a seat. Booths always seem to be reserved so seats at the bar go quickly. Even though I consider myself a "regular", small groups receive priority treatment. Drinks are good but I do agree with a previous reviewer when it comes to the Tito vodka. The taste just does not seem to be what it is at other locations so I understand his comments. This lounge is a ladies and gentleman's affair! It has a mellow vibe where you can have a conversation without screaming your lungs out. Getting a drink can be a hassle. Plus the place can get too crowded around mid-night, so consider getting there early. Otherwise, you don't get a seat and will be standing at a tight walkway all night. read more
