Early the next day Manuel and Raul made quick work of installing the metal panels and by midday, Raul was at the door saying "Mr. Vogler the fence job is complete and would you please check the work to see if everything meets your approval", which it did! Lots of back and forth about marking the water lines that run under the fence line between the meter and the house. I didn't want the project to start until those lines were marked and Rudy didn't care. Rudy told me installation could begin because he had clearance from the Tucson Water Department. But it turns out that the city only clears the line running to the meter, not the lines from the meter to the house. I found out, after calling 811 (Before You Dig), that the lines to the house are considered private and that I needed to hire a private contractor to locate the lines, which I did. Despite the lines having been marked, the crew broke one the first day on the job. Rudy told me it was an irrigation line (happens all the time according to him). After several unsuccessful attempts to fix the "irrigation line", a plumber was called hours later to fix the broken water line. All in all an extremely unpleasant experience with a happy ending -- a very nice fence.

Kase and his crew are polite, professional, timely and very customer-oriented. Kase initially helped us design the fence and then we thoroughly enjoyed having his crew at our house for the installation. Family affair with great people and easy to have around. Ashleigh in the office kept us appraised of progress and was very accomodating when we had delays on our end due to other contractors. They just rolled with it. Secondly, the finished product is absolutely stunning, with obvious pride of workmanship! It's kind of hard to get excited about a pool fence, but let me say that rather than an "industrial" looking standard type of black and straight fence, they custom made a rusted, architecturally sensitive fence that blends in with the elements of the yard beautifully. It looks like art in my backyard! Lastly, pricing was very reasonable, and more than competetive with other bids I received. Retrospectively, I think this was money very well spent and was so much more than even anticipated. I highly recommend this fabricator and would consider using them again. I informed him that I would not be home at the time he chose for installation, he said that would be no problem. But the install date came and no gates . I waited thirty days past install date and was told another month the gates would be finished. Numerous excuses and delays. Finally he showed up to install the very large and heavy gates alone. Being it was late in the afternoon he dropped off the gates and said he would return the next day. We noticed on one of the gates it was a foot too short also numerous areas that had damage. We took photos and sent them along with our concerns to him. His response was very angry and unprofessional , that's all I have to say about it. He came to our home the next day and took the gates and never returned to finish the job . So i even tried reaching out to have the job completed and was told no not interested too busy. Getting ready for my first big steel project putting in about 180 feet of metal fence at one of our…read morerental properties, I stopped in a few places around town. The first made me feel I was imposing on them with my amateur questions and I very much got the "move along" vibe. A little bummed I moved on and stopped in at Santa Rita Steel - whole different ball of wax. They have a friendly and helpful staff and a relaxed atmosphere. They actually took me out to the yard and showed me different material options and even some sample fence sections in the back - helping me change my plan a bit and get the correct amount of material ordered up. To my surprise, no one sold these GE plates in the whole state of AZ. In fact, I was told by several people including electricians that I would need to spend thousands of dollars to upgrade my box because it was from the early 80's. I am in no position to spend that kind of money. My inspector simply require I have a deadplate covering my breakers. So I got busy calling around to several metal and steel business to request a plate be made. Due to COVID 19 many places didn't have the bandwidth to get this done in a 24/48hr turnaround time or they didn't/won't due this type of work. I was desperate because my deadline was fast approaching. To my surprise, I was guided to contact Santa Rita Steel. I spoke with Poncho and well, the rest is history. Expertise, called and sent pictures of the job to repair two connected driveway gates that would not close due to bent and corroded j-bolts and rigging. Required welding new J-bolts and installing cane rods. Perfect job, great welds and the 15 year old gate works perfectly. 2. Reliable, despite a labor shortage, Phil was out on Friday, scoped the work procured the parts over the weekend, and executed the work first thing Monday morning. Followed up on calls, was exactly on time - responsive to text messages, etc. Read: RELIABLE. 3. Flexible, once on site, asked him to look at a separate gate and move the gravity lock, flip the gate to swing the other direction. Phil happily squeezed the additional work in - again, great job. 4.
