a variety of cakes on display

Based on take out cake I would come back to this spot again. Space is tight and the food choices seemed decent. The selection of fruit tarts was decent and they all looked appetizing. We were here for cake pick up and we got two. The chocolate layer cake was very good and that alone is worth the detour. The other cake was OK and didn't quite do it for moi. Anyway will be back if I am in the area. 4 Stars.

This review is based on the atmosphere, location, & a chocolate croissant. More a café than bakery, all the items are tucked away, behind glass - even the croissants. No macaroons were in sight during my visit. Ma Maison is located in a small strip plaza, with limited parking, on a weird, non-residential strip of Dundas. Most of their traffic is probably from people driving. Since I was testing out croissants today - Patisserie Saint Honoré missed out since it's closed for renos?? - I opted for a chocolate croissant. It was quite average with 1 small tiny dollop of chocolate in the middle. Pastry could've used another fold as there weren't that many layers to it. Have definitely had better elsewhere! Due to location, café itself doesn't wanna make you sit there and enjoy your caffeinated beverage/pastry. This place may do better elsewhere, but the view from the window is yet another strip mall with mainstream stores.

Ma Maison is a great little bakery in etobicoke specializing in french cuisine. The crossaints are fluffy and buttery! I also recommend checking out their sandwiches and quiches, if you have a chance.

First time on Saturday 815. Small spot; pastries all looked great. Picked up a couple of regular croissants a chocolate an apple gallate a breakfast sandwich bacon egg on a croissant and a cappuccino. Friendly service. Croissants were so fresh. One if the best around. Cappuccino good. There are prepared foods maybe next time. Parking lot in small strip mall. A few tables in and out.

Great service, especially the polite French speaking female staff but the prices are a bit higher than most. Nice ambience and great baked goods. It would be nice if they carried some fruits as well, or a few more healthy choices

The food is average, the baguette are sometimes chewy and the service is horrible.

It was a beautiful little coffee shop, the food was great, and was very inexpensive and the pumpkin spice Macaroons were to die for

The…read morejunctions here being all wonky doesn't help much either as it can be quite confusing to figure out the street this place is located at. Anyway minor quibble. Once you get here the variety here more than makes up for it. This is not your average housewares store. They do focus on baking needs and cater to the professional supply/tools side of things. If you are an advance bake at home type you will be happy to come here. They have all kind of gadgets that will help you create the next masterpiece at home or in your professional store. The staff was knowledgeable and provided assistance when needed so kudos for that as a beginner like me really appreciated it. 4 Stars all the way.

I finally went to McCall's the other day with a friend and had to hold back in not spending all the money in my wallet. Not that things in this baking supply heaven are all that expensive, it's just that you end up wanting to buy every single type of themed cupcake liners, several colours of coloured sugars, all different shades of gel-paste food colour, and so on, as you walk through every aisle of the shop (fortunately there are only about half a dozen aisles!). There was quite a good variety of items available when I was there, although some areas seemed somewhat picked over, especially the seasonal items, so be sure to visit the shop well in advance of your holiday-themed baking ventures. In addition to all these decorating-related items, you can also purchase all kinds of pans, trays, carrying cases, baking utensils, etc. But none of that is nearly as fun as the pretty stuff, obviously. Also of note, McCall's offers a wide variety of cake decorating courses throughout the year for newbies and experts alike. Unfortunately, their website is horribly maintained and you'll likely have no luck in properly seeing the course schedule online, but they do have a free booklet available in the store with all the information you need, or you could always give them a call.

I went to the Panago website, placed my order, and headed over. The 'za wasn't quite ready when I arrived and the employees' mask use seemed spotty (to say the least), so my expectations were pretty low for the food. Fortunately, the pizza turned out to erase any doubts I might've had. I'd decided to grab the Veggie Mediterranean ("Large Original Crust, Feta, Tomatoes-Sun-dried, Olives-Kalamata, Onions-Red, Peppers-Red, Baby Spinach, Mozzarella, Organic Tomato Sauce") and I got that with two dipping sauces (Chipotle Cilantro and Italian Garlic). This is one tasty 'za. All the ingredients work really well together, and I certainly liked that everything seemed evenly spaced out. (Sometimes you get a pizza that seems to have a bunch of one thing on one half, but that definitely wasn't the case here.) I also found that the dipping sauces really enhanced the whole thing, especially the delicious and fairly addictive Chipotle Cilantro. Now, does $27 feel a little high for a non-gourmet pizza? Yeah, it kind of does. But everyone enjoyed the pie, so I guess I can't really complain.

It's a small old-school diner conveniently by Kipling TTC/GO station. I tried their cheeseburger and poutine. For the price, the cheeseburger is not too special but I really enjoyed the poutine - the gravy melted the cheese perfectly. One of the downsides is they only accept cash. This place is old Etobicoke architecture, in stark contrast to the shiny new condos, Scotiabank, and Farm Boy across the street. But I'd be lying if I said I don't have a soft spot in my heart for classic Toronto buildings, so in I went. The decor is funky retro dinerish. From seeing the ATM as the first thing before the counter started, and the fact the guy before me paid in cash, I intuited that this might be cash only, although I didn't confirm that since I actually had some of the folding stuff on me. A cheeseburger, small chocolate shake and French fries set me back $17.05. Not cheap, but not too much more than other fast food in Toronto. From what I saw from the other orders in front of mine, they have a wide menu selection including grilled chicken, steak, and veggie burgers. Also, the bacon they were adding to other sandwiches looked tasty too! The cashier was pleasant and the sandwich assembly line was efficient, and soon I was sitting down with my meal. The place was constantly busy while I was there. The fries were really good. Crisp but fluffy, not greasy, and unsalted, because as an adult, I could pick up one of the provided salt shakers and choose where I wanted my blood pressure set as opposed to the chef deciding for me. I actually didn't add anything because they were so good plain. The burger looked like someone had used ground beef and not a liquid slurry. It was passable, a very clean flavor. It sounds hypocritical to say I would have liked a bit more salt in the burger, but, well, guilty. But I appreciated the homemade feeling of the texture, a nice chew without being rubbery. And the bun was nicely toasted too. The shake came from a shake machine, and tasted exactly like that. Nice and thick, nothing special, but it hit the spot.. It's not a destination location by any means, but if you're in the area and looking for a burger, this is a fine choice.
