This place is very good! I love how you can take any black tea (unsweetened for me) and add boba. Not very many boba places will let you do that. The drinks are made fairly quickly, almost as quickly as I drink the tea. The tea tastes actually brewed, unlike artificial American teas. I throughly enjoy this place. I wish there were more locations outside of the mall because I would visit there more often. The place really thought about everything going into their drink experience. The tapioca milk tea here is my favorite...tastes even better than all the options in the Chicago Chinatown, in my opinion. The milk tea itself is authentic and reminiscent of the milk teas I've had in Taiwan, while the tapioca is always chewy and consistent. Whenever I am in town, I make sure to make a stop here. It's easy to find and decently priced. I got the Taro Milk Tea, which came out to be about $4. I didn't get any tapioca because I wasn't feeling up to it that day, but regardless, the milk tea was very good. I ordered delivery from here, and their service was amazing! I have a lot of dietary restrictions, and that can make eating out very difficult. When I ordered from Ma tea, I originally chose a tea that I was allergic to on accident. The staff not only called me to let me know, but worked with me to find a tea I could drink with all of my dietary restrictions! All over the phone! They even threw in a free lavender tea for free because of the trouble! My family loved everything, and we will definitely be coming here again. If you love tea, this is the place to go! read more

Their tapioca is always on point every time I do order from them. The drinks aren't exaggerated with unnecessary ingredients or flavoring and that's perfect for me. I want something simple and tasty - taro milk tea with tapico? Taro taste is apparent and aromatic. Sweetness and ice level is just right without me having to adjust anything. They decided to charge $.40 for creamer in a milk tea, which was new, $3.59 tea became $5.39 with 3 add-on charges. The cashier told me he needed to charge me for flavor or milk for my Lychee green milk bubble tea. Fine. But he could not explain to me if he was adding creamer, while milk or soy milk; after 4 different confirmations, it turned out they never had milk. He was nice though. But a young lady came over and tried to help demand the extra charge, and she was not nice. One other time they told the milk tea was not really tea. Now it is not really milk. I can just feel the sugary unidentifiable liquid mix in my stomach attacking my healthy cells. After going there 4 weekends in a row as special trips (as the location is difficult to get to, in the mall, and I did not shop), it is no longer worth my trip. read more

She charged me $5.89 and cold large for $1, tapioca is .50c, lychee boba .80. The drink is not good. I had no clue this place was at fox valley mall as I don't usually frequent this mall. I originally was looking for the nearby jamba juice but noticed they closed it. So, after doing a quick yelp search I saw Ma Tea House was nearby. There were many pictures of different teas and frapps to choose from. Having never been here before I figured the safest bet would be a coconut milk frappuccino. It was refreshing and light. I wasn't sure what yo make of the tapioca since I've never had it. The drink was good, no really strong flavors. There was one employee working and he was very polite. My drink took just a few minutes and I was on my way. I will for sure be back to try more drinks. I don't have anything to compare this place to so thats why they're not getting a 5 star. Otherwise, my visit was a good one. Glad I searched yelp! read more

Yum-O! I am a big fan of milk tea and this place nails it. The flavor is perfect. It is a small little place outside of Carsons in the mall, so for me the location is not ideal. However the lady that was working was super friendly, offered samples and suggestions and my milk tea hit the spot. They had a few different options including smoothies, coffee, etc. They also interestingly had waffles both savory and sweet which I didn't try, but maybe next time. They also had a variety of toppings to put in your tea/smoothie such as regular boba, popping boba and jelly. This is an amazing bubble tea place, but lately they've been lacking. I always go here to get my bubble tea, and I've lately been getting roasted Japanese milk tea repeatedly. However, the past couple times I've gotten my drink, I've received it without sugar, even though many times in the past i received it with sugar and it was fine. The last time I got the drink, it was without sugar, so I asked for a new one. They made a new one, and it still didn't have sugar, so I asked for them to add sugar and the employees claimed that the first drink had sugar in it (which it clearly tasted like it didn't). They added sugar and it finally tasted like the bubble tea that I was used to getting. I don't know why this has changed, but I hope they start adding sugar normally like they did before because that's what made me obsessed with their drinks in the first place. read more

I've been here twice and plan to go often! The first time I got there right when it opened and the tapioca wasn't ready yet. I've gone to this tea place several times and it has by far the best tea and customer service as well. The workers are friendly and my favorite drink would have to be the roasted Japanese milk tea with the tapioca! It's just soo good and flavorful! I was not very happy with this place. The smoothie melted very fast, and the employees were using their bare hands (no gloves) to put straws into everyone's orders. I ordered a regular sized Tapioca Milk Tea and a Red Bean Paste Bao, I was not disappointed. The owner was making the tapioca when I gave my order and I told her that I would wait for the tapioca to be done, this was before 11AM. There are padded benches across from the tea house so I waited there. This was the first time I have had tapioca milk tea, I almost inhaled a tapioca pearl that I had missed catching to chew up. The tea is not as sweet as Thai tea,which is good, but has a similar taste. I was happy that the tapioca pearls were not sweet also. She also had a good assortment of drinks from smoothies to herbal teas and baos (mandarin pork, BBQ pork, steak, kung pao chicken) I like the fact that this business is not located in the food court but by Carson's.
