Overpriced place. The coffee is just average for the price. They seem to only offer light or medium roasts, and it tasted very sour - honestly difficult to enjoy. When I asked the employee what roast they use (because by the smell I assumed it was light to medium), he didn't really understand my question. I didn't repeat it and just placed my order - and it turned out to be light/medium roast, which was hard for me to drink. I do like the vibe - it's cute and aesthetically nice. But it's always packed and very loud, so it's not a good spot if you're planning to have a meeting or work in a calm environment. read more

Sparrow coffee is everything I want in a local, cozy coffee shop. Space to sit and stay awhile, absolutely amazing espresso creations and tasty sweet and savory menu items! It's definitely the kind of space you'll find working professionals sipping coffee while answering emails during the week, so be warned it does seem to be busy on weekday mornings! But if you can snag a seat and stay for more than just a latte, I highly recommend the avocado toast, it's stacked with flavor! The pastries here are buttery and flaky too. We ordered: +a Latte with almond milk +a Honey Lavender Latte - one of their seasonal Spring drinks +a Matcha Lemonade - one of their seasonal Spring drinks; this was actually prepared well and super refreshing! +an Avocado Toast - 3 pieces of sourdough toast topped with smashed avocado, smoked gouda, leek powder, pickled leeks, radish, Aleppo pepper, black sesame, and arugula salad; wasn't a fa of this, as the toppings were just too much and was more pickle-y forward +the Ham Sandwich - a demi baguette with Catalpa Grove ham, raclette cheese, and housemade sauerkraut, served with a pickle spear; the baguette was hard to chew, as it was dry and slightly stale +and, a Tofu Banh Mi - a French roll filled with marinated tofu, pickled vegetables, jalapenos, Kewpie mayo, and a fermented hot sauce; not a good banh mi version, whatsoever; this was unfinished and tossed This place does get pretty busy - the line was long, and there was hardly any seating in- or outside - you'll have to have your hawk eyes on to grab a table, as it's first-come, first-serve! They supply the coffee to more than half of the Michelin star restaurants in Chicago No, this isn't Starbucks. You aren't going to find a thousand low calorie syrups and specialty drinks because they only use house made simple syrups. Nothing with additives that will taint their delicious coffee. They take it seriously. They have amazing pastries that are house made by their own chefs in Chicago's west loop. No high volume stuff shipped in from vendors. This isn't just a coffee shop. It's a place to sit down and grab a bite Sparrow gets slammed and it can be hard to find any seating, but there's a reason why it gets so busy. People recognize quality. Service is wonderful. They heavily staff the shop and assign multiple workers at every station. They also make an effort to remember their regulars' names. Rarely do I have to be asked what my name is. Often times, someone will see my name on the ticket and personally bring me my coffee. I also love that they have an extensive training program. Very cute inside - we stopped by on a Sunday morning and it was packed!! There were 4 of us and luckily someone got up and freed up a 2 person table an we were able to pull up 2 chairs. This is a hard place to come in a big group unless you get there early. The guy working the register was very helpful with all of the questions I asked him. I ordered a vanilla oat milk latte and a Brekky sandwich. The coffee was AMAZING!!! I loved mine and savored every sip. It has been a while since I've had a coffee this good. The brekkie sandwich was hot and fresh! It was a little fatty from the pork, sweet from the pepper jam, eggy goodness. I really enjoyed it! A little sticky from the pepper jam but eat with a fork and knife and you'll be good. Overall I was very impressed with Sparrow!! Me and my wife recently stopped here since we were in the downtown Naperville area and we wanted to check this place out. Myself, I just came here for one of their smoothies and their PB&J sandwiches. They got a great menu and I absolutely love the design of this place it is absolutely cozy. The restrooms here are absolutely clean and it's pretty cool that they have a button to flush the toilet. The lines can be very long just because it is overwhelming popular. Our order took about 20 minutes but it was worth the wait. Dining in can also be tricky just because a lot of people are dining in here as well. Price point is very fair too. Sparrow Coffee is THE coffee spot in Downtown Naperville. Located next to the street entrance of Hotel Indigo, there is always a crowd on the weekends. They offer a variety of coffee and tea drinks as well as pastries, breakfast entrees, sweet treats and more. They source their own coffee beans which gives a personal touch to the experience. This visit, I got the 10oz Salted Caramel Latte and shared a warm Cinnamon Roll with my fiancé. My latte was strong but flavor was subtle; I did love the milk art! The Cinnamon Roll was perfectly warm & easy to cut; the cream cheese frosting was amazing. My fiancé got a 10oz chai latte which fell more on the spiced side but was a bit watery. I was thankful that two seats opened up right as our items were ready to enjoy. It was fun to watch the staff hustle to make drinks and see the work flow. Overall, we enjoyed starting our morning with Sparrow Coffee. They get a lot of hotel customers but it's always good. I'd love to see some more specialty drink flavors or variety of syrups but coffee beans have good flavor. Tip: Sparrow Coffee hosts coffee classes throughout the month! What a GREAT Naperville find! Truly craft espresso bar experience, with deliciously tempting baked offerings as well! Everything looked so, so good. You visited a couple of times during a quick 3-day trip. It was clear that this coffee shop is a well-oiled machine. We were in town and staying nearby, and even though breakfast was included at our hotel, but everyone knows hotel coffee is rarely great and a peek at the menu during a stroll got our attention. On our last morning, we decided to grab a few coffees, a piece of quiche and a breakfast biscuit sandwich, and enjoy them steps away along the riverfront. The coffee was great, the biscuit sandwich was thoroughly enjoyed by my DH, and I still dream about that quiche! Service was good, but slow- not any fault of theirs, but because it's a busy and popular place for locals and visitors alike. The space is large and airy, with sufficient seating, much of it occupied by people who've parked themselves there with laptops. Still, there are some small tables outside and, for us, it didn't matter because the weather was perfect and we wanted to enjoy a bench on the river. Definitely worth a visit. I tried Sparrow coffee 3 days in a row while staying at Hotel Indigo. Unfortunately, the service was inconsistent. On the first day I ordered a large oat latté with 3/4 honey, extra hot. My order came out lukewarm and watery so I don't think they used oat milk. On day 2 the latté was perfect so much so that I looked up and it was gone. On day 3 the latté was far too sweet. I was really disappointed in the inconsistency in taste/flavor/quality. I appreciated the convenience and the space was large enough to sit and work or meet and talk with people. Additionally they seemed to have a pretty extensive food menu I was interested in the overnight oats but was in a hurry so I didn't try them. I would recommend Sparrow, and I hope they can work on providing more consistency in their drinks. read more

I was actually pretty impressed with number vegetarian options on the menu. I ordered a salted caramel latte and a spicy grilled cheese sandwich. Tricky parking and extremely overrun place with a line to the door prove that downtown Naperville has it going on too much! I arrived a bit too late for coffee but the seasonal beverages called to me. Did a ginger spritz, fancy house syrup with sparkling water, was an ideal summer sip but quite small, what is with these greater suburbs holding back big size? I drained the cup quickly due to the ice taking half the space. A bit of Starbucks style economics here isn't the best to see but would come again to try the coffee with all the raves for their java. It is a pleasant place though noisy.
