In my experience, the surgery performed at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center was done incorrectly from the beginning. It permanently changed the structure of my hand and left me with screws that cannot be removed. Since then, I have had to live with chronic pain every day. Even light work can trigger the pain, and at its worst, it reached a level 10 and became so unbearable that I felt like I wanted to break my own thumb just to make it stop. This condition has affected me not only physically but also emotionally. The physical pain has also caused me tremendous emotional suffering. I know I may never be able to return completely to the way I was before the surgery, because my hand has already been operated on and permanently altered.
