I visited Dr. Justin Lo for a few minutes consultation on2/9/2022 and my insurance was processed my portion of the payment was paid on 7/6/2022 and the account was paid off. All of a sudden in December of 2024 I received an invoice that the service on 2:2022 was not paid !! I immediately contacted them provided a copy of cancelled Check showing payment was paid in 2022. spoke to his incompetent and unprofessional staff, and yet still receiving invoices about this paid service. After struggling with neck pain going down To my shoulder and Arm. after few visits with him he decided to do a out patient procedure. Icouldn't have asked for a better experience. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that the entire team worked seamlessly together. They were organized, professional, and made me feel completely comfortable every step of the way. Dr. Lo assured me that I would start noticing a difference in about five days, but to my surprise, I felt relief the very same night! I slept through the night without any discomfort for the first time in ages. Dr. Justin Lo managed my sciatica pain which was induced by a disc herniation. He treated my husband for low back pain in the past, so I trusted him with my care. Dr. Lo was very supportive of my desire to avoid surgery until it was absolutely necessary, focusing instead on physical therapy and steroid shots for pain management. He was also very intentional in managing my diabetes amidst the pain therapies.  When the possibility of emergency surgery arose, Dr. Lo got me the best Surgeon and continually communicated with my surgeon, including on the weekends and in the early mornings. I have never known physicians to be so responsive and dedicated as mine have been. Thank God I am now healed of the inflammation surrounding my sciatic pain without surgery, and I truly appreciate the astounding and incredibly compassionate care that Dr. Lo provided. read more

I would have to profoundly say I disagree with the comment left by Anthony G. I have been a patient of Dr Lo for the last 9 months. I was involved in an incident that ended up with a bulging disc in my L3. I was crouched over and unable to stand straight, with leg spams, and numb toes. Now that I have completed my treatment, I am pain free, upright, and feeling great. I am able to do most of the activities that I did prior to the incident. I wouldn't give this place even a star if I could've posted the review without rating at all. I had been without medication for over a week now and I called numerous times to get a refill but the front desk kept either lying to me or the doctor refused to even talk to me about the refill and the pain I had. As per the front desk, the doctor won't talk to me until my appointment date which wasn't scheduled for two more weeks. I can't believe the doctor doesn't even care about the patients needs especially when I called several times and expressed how excruciating my pain was. I am a nurse and when my patients are in extreme pain, I make sure the pain is attended to immediately. I do not brush it off and ignore the patient as pain is the most important vital sign. I have had SEVERE sciatica ever since my son was born 31 years ago. The pain has come and gone, but as I've aged, it's BACK in full force. I was recommended to Dr. Lo and I am thrilled with my results. With MRI's to diagnose, he suggested bilateral epidurals and it has been an absolute miracle. No pain almost immediately. Went for my 4 mile walk 3 days later and I'm good to go. THANK YOU, Dr. Lo. This was my 2nd round of injections (they lasted about 8 months really well), and I hope that I can continue so as to delay surgery as long as possible. This review is not for Dr. Lo, but another doctor I saw here at Northern California pain specialists. 1. I had one in person, face-to-face appointment with a doctor, which lasted about 25 minutes. She made me do some different moves and exercises to assess my pain, etc. I advised her that I had an appointment with another specialist in about four weeks and she told me to schedule a follow up phone call with her after my appointment with the second specialist. She made it clear that I did not need to come into the office for a face-to-face visit and that she would just simply call me on my cell phone. So this wasn't a telehealth/zoom/face time appointment. The front desk personnel were completely rude and quite frankly incompetent. 2. A few weeks later I called the office and made a follow-up phone call appointment and they told me that the doctor would call me on my cell phone at X time. So the day and time come, no phone call from the doctor. About 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time I finally get a phone call from her. The call lasted less than five minutes because I just gave her a quick update and she agreed there was nothing further she could do for me. 3. I have insurance, and since they did not collect any type of co-pay, I was expecting a bill in the mail, which I did receive. Thank goodness, I have amazing insurance, but these people are off their rocker. For the first in person, 30 minute visit I was billed $650. For the five minute follow up phone call, I was charged $777. I have the bill if anyone wants to see it. I will never set foot in this office again and I will tell everyone who will listen what a scam this place is. I don't care what degree you have, five minutes of your time is not worth $777! read more

This place is a joke! Had a failed back for 30 Years and the changes I have seen from being Bullied with Back Stimulator to Nerve Blocks!! Been on pain medication 90 mgs for 20 years done the contract and urine screens and this dr smit or smith already had ready for stimulator put in my back even though he hasn't seen my medical chart! I had a billing question and was referred to "Adam" who seems to be always angry and will get triggered by the slightest things. Yesterday, when I called to verify an amount for a client, he told me that he was working on a project and that he couldn't switch screens, so to email him. I did and the email bounced. Today when I called again, he was rude and told me the same exact thing, "I am working on a project........I can't give you that information right now.....I will email it to you." All I wanted to was to get a verbal and move on. I have already wasted precious time waiting for this email to bounce twice. I verified the email address and it's correct and DO NOT know why it bounced. Adam became angry and in a matter of a millisecond he raised his voice and said very sternly "Ma'm???" and then hang up on me while I was still talking. I called back and my call rang many times then it was sent to voicemail. Does Dr. Lo know this is how Adam treats people that he is there to help??? Adam needs to seek help for his angry existence and needs to learn some much needed social skills especially if he is working with the public. read more

CONSUMER ALERT: Be aware of fraudulent practices from Dr Lo. The last eleven months, I requested two times, epidural for sciatica pain (lumbar area) and two times he offered me bursitis injections (hip area) and he gets paid for epidural money. He keeps me disabled for all this time. They do not allow him to perform epidurals at the O'Connor Hospital anymore. When I asked him, Why? his answer was "I hate this place" Classic case of requesting oranges and he is going to sell you lemons. As far as his personality goes, he is arrogant, insensitive, rude, inarticulate, lacks eye contact, lies through his teeth and spending more than five minutes with you, it is overtime because you are dispensable. Time is money for him even with unethical practices. He has not discovered, the meaning of "accumulation of bad karma" yet. If you think, his office is a small hell on earth and a throwback to the 50's or maybe 60's, you have to see the dingy, gloomy and drab place that he performs injections. Few years ago, I went to see him for another pain (carpal tunnel syndrome) and he did not have idea how to treat it. I had to go outside of my insurance and I had to pay Dr Hopkins (out of my pocket) and he took care the problem. He is so ridiculous that lately he decided to hire professional writers to write favorable reviews for him. Please pay attention to Christopher's review, under not recommended (of course). When he read my review on yelp he called me on the phone to tell me that all his injections are epidurals. Then I asked him "why am I not getting better?" and his answer was "I do not guarantee anything to anyone" From his answer, he removed the paragraph, I was unfairly accusing him as "money oriented". Why did he do that? Because he charges for a bursitis injection 1,200.00 and in my case he charged me only 600.00 as uninsured. But an orthopedic can give you the same injection for 75.00 or whatever is your co-payment. The only difference is more money, more steroids in your body and you may end up with three visits to the ER in five days. This is what happened to me. The final result will be, no benefits and only side effects. I'm wondering if I needed cervical epidural, would he inject me on my left arm instead of the back of my neck? Before the procedure, when I entered the room, I walked to his desk to give him an MRI and an X-Ray, but he did not want any contact with me. He started waving his arms in the air and yelling NO, NO, NO, NO, like he was saying to me, "you are not going to change my agenda, your papers have not any value to me". I went back to the nurses to take my vitals and I complained that I have also a paper with a few questions with me, but he does not want any communication. One nurse brought him closer to me and when I was reading my questions, he grabbed the paper from my hands, gave a quick glance and he said "everything is going to be alright". I guess his agenda defies, the medical rules and the human decency. During the procedure, I noticed that everything was well thought out and orchestrated. His nurses (young girls), are well trained like commandos in the army. To prove that this is a serious business, they take positions around the bed, in case you kick the bucket. They tell you quickly to lay on your stomach, that way you will not have a chance to see that they do not have any expensive equipment above your body. The only thing they do is, pulling forcefully your underwear, down to your knees. Other than that their role, is simply decorative. Their boss has finished in a few minutes with two injections (this time) in the left side of my hip and I am out of the door. NO INJECTION IN THE LUMBAR SPINE. The whole thing is a theatrical act, of an assembly line. I had to add the last two paragraphs recently, when I found out that Dr Lo, convinced this reviewer with the name Carol to write an essay full of gibberish. Her plan was to introduce (according to my humble opinion), an immoral doctor to the rest of the world. But she failed because her review was too phony and now is under not recommended (of course). Now both can swim in the ocean of sin. Eventually, I sent a complaint to my credit card and they reversed the 600.00. He did not even dispute the charges. To be continued.. read more

Dr. Lo and NP Nuygen They are caring,concerned and have excellent bedside mannerisms! They talk to you, not at you and will run down everything they possibly can to make sure you have a better quality of life via pain care. After five years with Dr Millard as my Pain management Dr. my insurance changed and I was forced to find another Doctor. I was really upset because Dr Millard had relieved my back pain, he was the best. After much research, I chose Dr Jason Lo, and I am so happy with results. He is a quiet Dr, extremely thought out. I have dealt with degenerated discs, herniated discs, scoliosis, sciatica, and more for the last 10 years, epidurals are the only sure fire relief for me....if done right. And Dr Lo gets it right, I have condidence in his ability and judgement, and that says a lot coming from me. I have a adversion to surgery and treatments! My only alternative is surgery, which I am a candidate for. But at over 70, I just do not want to go through that. It would be an extensive surgery, with a long recovery. I also jave Rheumatoid arthritis, so my joints and health act up here and there. I love the fact the surgery center where Dr Lo gives injections is closer to me than previous Dr. And the staff at the surgery center are very quick and efficient. So I am well talen care of and in and out fairly quick. Dr Lo is a very caring and thoughtful Dr. He doesn't rush, and addresses all my concerns. He is very knowledgable, and is very good with injections. I am allergic to the dye, and the spot where he needs to get in is very tricky and narrow. I was told this by other Dr's. Dr Lo get in there and does L 3 and 4, right side. I feel relief almost right away, and in a week I am getting around well, and back to the gym. I do not know how I would manage with out these injections. My life would be very restricted. It is my spine, I would not trust going into my spine to anyone. His office staff great and friendly. They keep a couple of the cutest dogs in the office, that is very entertaining and relaxing to me!! I highly recommend Dr Justin Lo, MD of Pain Care of Silicon Valley and his entire well-functioning, highly organized, and extremely helpful staff. His office is all about patient care and patient advocacy. It is rare that I take the time to acknowledge services that are provided by a Doctor, but Dr. Lo is a very rare breed when it comes to medical professionals who exhibit the highest degree possible of knowledge, professionalism, courage, and a laser-like focus on doing what is best for his patients. I stumbled upon Dr. Lo after more than 1 year in the workman's compensation system when I was recovering from a fall at work. I was referred to him by my workman's compensation attorney who I retained to help me navigate the incredibly complex workman's compensation system. Over 1 year into my recovery, it had become clear that I was not getting the care I needed from the system or from the Doctor's I had been seeing and my care among all the various Doctors I was seeing was poorly coordinated if at all. Enter Dr. Lo and his office and everything changed. He reviewed the extensive amount of medical records I had built up and actively took charge of my care personally while coordinating with medical specialists responsible for medical care outside his area of expertise. Dr. Lo was my husband's pain management doctor back in 2007, for a year, and then again briefly in 2015. My husband is a hard working man, a plumber who struggles with chronic pain, lumbar radiculopathy, fibromyalgia and fibroarthritis. He had been on a specific regimen, but due to insurance changes, changes in the classification of certain medications and the decision of his prior doctor to not prescribe C2 medications, he returned to Dr. Lo. Big mistake. Immediately, Dr. Lo changed all of his medications and refused to honor his previous regimen, even though my husband had been on these meds for years. My husband gave it a try but within days he was in huge amounts of pain. His legs would jerk due to the pain and he was unable to sleep. This was severely affecting the quality of his life. My husband made two appointments to discuss this and to beg Dr Lo to reconsider and put him on his old regimen. Dr. Lo was uncompassionate, arrogant and uncompromising. He put him on muscle relaxers even though my husband warned him that it made his leg pain worse. We called and I left messages because I saw my husband in a terrible state. Dr. Lo would prescribe another muscle relaxer, which proved he never listened to my husband in the first place. He had my husband's records from other doctors. He had nerve conduction tests, MRIs, x rays, yet he refused to put my husband on his previous medications. First do no harm, eh Dr Lo? Don't bother writing any type of response. You are fake and you do not help people manage their pain. Perhaps you should practice another specialty. read more

I went to Dr Lo for spinal injection. This was my second try, had a bad experience with the previous try with different doctor. Went in with anxiety, but Dr Lo was awesome. Was so quick and to be honest I don't remember very much of the procedure. Hoping it helps with the pain in the next week or so, but I will not ever go to anyone else for pain management. read more

Dr. Lo is the man. If you're Primary has not referred you to him for pain management that is a shame. I've had injections from Dr. Lo going back to 2013. in 2013 the injection he gave me helped to completely eradicate the stenosis/ radiculopathy/ arthritis pain in L1/L2 and Sacroiliac pain that had been debilitating to me for months that year. in 2016 I needed one for same symptoms in C6/C7 (stenosis/ radiculopathy/ arthritis pain). Same result - pain gone. This year (2017) it took two injections, but I'm 95% pain free - again! Avoiding surgery thankfully again! Go see Dr. Lo! read more
