This was the first restaurant I ate at a few hours after arriving in Rio. Bad choice!! SERVICE - There was no waiter when we arrived so we picked a table and eventually got a waiter. - There was only 1 waiter serving everyone. It wasn't crowded but there were like 6 to 8 groups sitting outside. - Our waiter could not speak or understand much English FOOD - I ordered the Brazilian steak strips. It came with fries and farofa (toasted manioc flour - looks like bread crumbs). - The meal wasn't hot temperature-wise. - The fries were cold and didn't seem fresh at all - The beef had a decent flavor but was very chewy - There was no explanation on how to use farofa. It had no taste and I ate it with the rice. Later on, I found out that it goes best with beans. My meal had no beans. - Did not enjoy the meal AT ALL. Just disgusting. Tried to finish it because I hate wasting money on food but I could not. We got bombarbed by a few street hustlers - a group of men playing live music and a man selling car license name plates. Probably because we look like foreigners.

    Steak and scampi.

Wow their fish was top-notch! I had the Golden Catch from Bahia. It was soft and tender inside with…read morea little crunch on the outside. My husband had the fish and plantain moqueca, and the fish was so tender that it just melted in your mouth. Both were delicious! The main difference was that my sauce contained cashews and the cashew flavor was quite strong according to my husband. So if you're allergic to nuts, make sure you ask for an English menu to double-check the ingredients. They also asked if we had any food restrictions when they seated us which was nice. We tried three different mocktails. I forgot the names but one was pineapple & passion fruit, another was coconut, and I forgot what the last one was. They were all good! The chocolate cake with chocolate syrup was delish (10/10). Sweet but not overly sweet and it was so moist, warm, and rich. I just wish I had more room to eat more!!!

Honorable mentions: Shredded Beef Rice- was delicious. Rice cooked to perfection and the beef had amazing flavor. Joaquina's picadinho- beef was a salty for my taste but flavors were delicious. Tapioca Shrimp- these were sooo good appetizers. Good size shrimps and the flavors were delicious. Pasteis (shrimp)- delicious! Came with 2 smaller empanada-type pastries. We wanted to order Pork Rinds and Mini Shrimp Burgers but ran out early that day. We ate around 8 pm so go earlier if you want to try. Definitely a great culinary experience.
