Because they are closed after I get off of work, I decided to take the 8AM Saturday slot. It was so busy this morning! But, I got my hair washed, blown out, and trimmed all within 45 minutes. Sydney knew exactly what I wanted with my hair and was very friendly. I will totally be using her again! In total, it was $60, which for a trim I think is a little high, but that's the normal price these days.

Lindsay deserves at least 10 for sure!…read more I've know Lindsay since before she was a stylist, and to watch such an ambitious young lady follow her dreams and go after her dreams is definitely inspirational, and WOW! Her work is absolutely amazing, and that is an extreme understatement. I have been to stylists who have been in the industry for 20+ years who have no idea how to do what she can accomplish in a few hours. Everything from men's cuts to color corrections to highlights/ lowlights to styling to everything you could possibly imagine doing with the hair. I learned so much being in her studio today! For example, I didn't know so many commercial shampoos were 90% or more fillers and artificial fragrances, and the lines she uses (Kevin Murphy and Lumo) not only are nourishing for your hair, but I don't have to be paranoid about if my hair is going to be damaged and fade out quickly. For the past 10 years, I haven't EVER let a stylist cut more than 2-3 inches max off of my hair. I told her about my acute migraines I have been getting for the last few months, and she explained to me the weight of my hair pulls on my scalp and is probably causing the headaches. Having such heavy length and no layers forever, I was ready for a change and trusted her to let my locks be her canvas! I have always stalked her Instagram and Facebook pages and absolutely fall on love with everything she does! I just can't get over all the VIVID colors she does! Of course, I wanted to keep my "natural" red hair, so we decided to do a color melt (which I never even heard of before!) from red to copper to rose gold. So upon entering the Sola Salon entrance, I was super impressed at how each individual suite was customized to each tenant's style and I walked a couple of doors down to Lindsay's suite #6, and was so aesthetically pleased at the decor and the cleanliness and product selection. This isn't a place where you will hear a million blow dryers in the background and gossipy guests; everything is custom tailored to what you need that day, and by appointment only due to only having one chair in her suite. Which is perfectly fine bc I wouldn't want to not be selfish and share my salon time with anyone else :) Not only is Sola Salons blessed and lucky enough to have Lindsay Racca of Vivid Studio in a convenient location super easy to get to by Southside Produce on Perkins, but she is obviously the most custom-tailored stylist and a gem of a talent! Even if I moved out of Baton Rouge I would still travel here for Lindsay's services, and I'm sure 100% of her clients would agree! I'm a true…read moreveteran of the beauty industry having worked as an account executive for several large beauty companies -several who in fact serviced Sephora on the East Coast, for over 27 years, that the service isn't what it used to be... in fact, I noticed how funny it was that as a now much older woman, who entered the store sans makeup to grab a few items before a vacation, that I was mostly ignored by the staff who was far too busy chatting and hanging about the wrap stand area to give me a passing glance. Many testers were missing, and some stock was noticeably sold out. I did really like some of the new products that have been added to the line up, and it's what I do expect from Sephora. A few old tried and true products were absent, but trends do change... I'd really recommend stopping into the store if you haven't been there for a while. It's got a great selection, is brighter than ever, and walking the aisles makes me smile. As a pro artist, who enters with zero on my face, you may find it amusing that I left the store with a full face that I happily applied myself, while wearing a new fragrance! Did they get the sale???
