Remember back in the day when you walked in a store, and you were actually greeted when you walked in? Remember when you went to the store and had little knowledge of the item you were going to buy, and the stores associates actually knew the products they were selling and helped you make choices of the the product that will fit your needs? If you need home or car audio, stop by here. Everyone that works in this store is friendly and they know their stuff. They repaired some aftermarket items on my Jeep and charged very reasonable costs for labor. I don't play when it comes to my stereo so I don't write reviews like this lightly. I do not leave reviews very often. I was recommended to come here and it was not a disappointment. I have had two installs completed by Mac Electronics. They do extremely clean and professional installs. The owner is courteous, very knowledgeable, and is a very upstanding person. Reasonable prices and great customer service. I was trying to put a train horn in my hatch back mazda and all the car shops around shut me down except for macs electronics. They worked with me and found a spot to make it work. Awesome place. I got referred to MACs by a couple guys at the geek squad at a local Best Buy whom shall rename nameless. These guys are awesome, great prices better service and solid craftsmanship. Below is my review for Anything Audio that includes a detailed description of Macs Electronis as well "These people (Anything Audio)are awful... I'll start with the non technical side first. To give you an idea of my expertise I am an avionics electronics technician for the Marine Corps for all fixed wing aircraft ; I only went into this store because I bought a brand new car on leave and it had no radio; I had not time to do the work myself before I drove back to Cali. I gave them 2 stars only because the sell JL Audio...JL is an awesome product so you can't lose there. So.. No one up front had any idea what they were talking about with the products .. They knew their way around basic stereo info but any difficult question in regards to RMS ohms, impedance etc. They probably have no idea that Ohm was an actual person and there are laws that govern all these things that he created. Their are 3 people in the store a mom a dad and a kid. The kid is pretty cool. The mom and dad are both jerks, completely rude. Ok so my car was a 1978 Chevy Monte Carlo, it had already been pre wired with a system but the amps and subs and radio had been taken out and literally needed no work at all, I had already ohmed the system out for continuity to see if it was gtg and it was. I make a purchase of 2600.00 (slightly over price from Amazon but reasonable for JL, 2 sets components, 1 12 truck sub in a pre enclosure) and ask how much installation is going to be. THIS LADY SAID WE WILL INSTALL IT AT A FAIR PRICE AND CHARGE YOU WHEN YOU COME TO PICK IT UP! So I said that is very in businesslike and I don't feel comfortable with that because if I come back and you quote me at a price that is ridiculous I'm taking my car and leaving. She said I had offended her... Lol ok lady. She then agreed to call me with a quote, after an hour I went back Because I hadn't received a quote.... She says between 500-700. THE CAR IS ALREADY WIRED LADY I NEED NO KITS I NEED NO DASH FITS ITS ALL PLUG N PLAY AT THIS POINT. Then the dad try's to sell me a new battery and a battery isolater (not a terrible buy, but for this system completely unneeded). I tell him this is unneeded and that a 2F capacitor would work if it was needed. He tells me a capacitor is terrible and adds resistance to your system. A capacitor is not a resistor... Capacitors store voltage from a power source and regulate power spikes across a circuit to stop circuits from blowing components or losing power to other vital parts on a circuit.... Moron don't try to oversell unneeded equipment, also know what your talking about. Also these guys have no pictures of work they've done that I saw... THERE RETURN POLICY IS 5 DAYS WITH A RECEIPT AND UNOPENED BOXES..... I went down to MACs Electronics and takes to Leon! WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Their store is more professional looking, Leon was super professional and approachable and knew his stuff, pretty much, lol I his defense most don't know electronics like I know them better than most. Also they deal mostly in Rockford Fosgate which is a company I love, just slightly below JL for competition purposes. He did my whole system with a custom enclosure in the trunk for 2400.00 and included 2 subs 2 components front and back 2 amps and a 2f capacitor! AWESOME! Also he's got tons of pics of his work and it looks amazing! Went to Mac Electronics to get an iPhone Car Kit installed ( Parrot MKi9200). This product says "Professional Installation Recommended". I was impressed when I talked to them on the phone and set up the appointment. My car has a standard factory stereo so when they inquired on the phone as to the make / model etc I figured that they were making sure that they had everything that they needed. I was greeted and directed to an area where I could relax while the install was done. About 2 hrs later the tech tells me that be is pulling the car around to demo the unit for me. What I discovered was that he had only hooked up the front speakers to the device and not the subwoofer. This meant that if you had the radio on and decided to play your iPod/ or take a phone call - that the subwoofer continued to boom away in the back seat while something else played up front. He tried to claim that this was normal for the device and thought this was perfectly acceptable. I tried to explain that this was unacceptable to which his reply was that this is how it would have to be. I then asked him to uninstall it - to which he wanted to charge me $80 install and an additional $40 to uninstall it. His lack of professionalism reminded me of the label on the product. Bottom line - if you are looking for professional installation - it's not here! UPDATE: Spoke to the owner who seems to be an upstanding guy. He didn't charge me for the install or the uninstall - but I stand by my original assessment that if you are looking for a professional install - look elsewhere as the installer that worked on my car was anything but professional. read more

I'm actually making this review based on a phone call from a friend today because I was so appalled. My friend arrived at the store around 4:30 this afternoon to ask some questions regarding his home theatre system and was leaning towards making a $5000+ purchase from the store. While in the store, a request was made asking the employee, quite possibly the store owner, if he could turn on one of the systems so that my friend could see the quality of it. The associate replied, "You want me to turn on this system this late in the afternoon? I'm not doing that." The store closes at 6:00pm and I'm typing this at 5:38 pm. My friend isn't returning and I don't blame him. I thought the goal of most businesses was to make money, apparently MAC Electronics decided they'll just stay in the business of being a display room, no purchase necessary. read more

Why here and not Amazon? Support a local business with competitive prices and knowledgable staff with equally fast shipping if it isn't instock. Leon at Mac Electronics is the man! There wasn't a post regarding home theater equipment yet so I felt obligated to post. Half the store is home theater equipment! I've been a Klipsch fan for years and was pleasantly surprised to find that's what Mac Electronics sells. The demo room is life changing. Leon educated me to the various options available for my application and my home theater setup is now complete. For the fronts I have a wall mounted tv and wanted flush, low profile speakers to match. The Klipsch gallery series is perfect. For the rears I wanted a larger enclosure that spread out sound instantly at 180 degrees via multiple drivers that handled some bass; enter the reference series. After sitting with this setup for a few months I couldn't un-hear the 12in reference series sub he demo'd for me at the store. So I went back and bought that as well! The prices can't be beat. The bottom line price isn't as important to me as feeling like I got a deal and that's what you get here. read more
