The upholstery shop at Mac Fabrics and Design Center does impeccable work on custom drapes, refurbished chairs and sofas, and I love the custom valences for a stylish addition to luxury draperies. I found the staff to be friendly, knowledgable and helpful in selecting fabrics, wallpaper and trims. I was a bit overwhelmed with all the choices, but the person I worked with really helped me focus on the best choices that met my budget. I "discovered" MAC Fabrics and Design Center through a friend who had a good experience with them. My project was relatively small, but Victoria and her colleagues were very helpful at each step of the way. There were delays in fabric deliveries that put some "pressure" on getting this done. Victoria kept me informed every step of the way. The installer Daniel was professional and helpful in setting up an appoinment required to do the measurements well in advance of the fabric delivery. I finally got the call that the fabric was in, and that the curtains would be ready, though the schedule was tight. Then Voila! Victoria called, asking to set a time for Daniel to come to install the curtains. Perfect! I am pleased with the quality of the work and professionalism that I encountered with MAC. This is a pretty nice store if you're after home decorator fabrics. They have a pretty wide selection and really friendly staff. If I recall properly, they were a little on the expensive side, but still reasonable. Check this place out before you try any chain. read more

Upholstered (tuck, pleat, staple) the seat backs of a 3 section dining banquette. I diassembled the seat back sections and delivered them to the store. they did a very nice (but not perfect, hence 4 stars) job, promised and delivered two week turnaround, and considerably less expensive than the quote we got from Boca Bargoons. we used fabric purchased at their outlet on Route 1 which was a fantastic price for a high quality remnant. Total project cost was $350. Considering how expensive upholstery work can be, I was very pleased. yes some of the staff are a little curt, but they work hard and know what they are doing. having to park in the predatory boot lot behind them is a minor stressor - don't take a chance on not having enough time on your parking card. read more

i was really impressed by not only the selection of fabrics they had, but also how fun some of them were. the vinyl area in particular had some unusual things. the staff seemed more than willing to help and fairly knowledgable. the store goes back much farther than i would have thought--make sure you walk all the way to the back left of the store or you'll miss 1/2 of what they have to offer. they also have a discount store not too far away where selected fabrics are 50% off. bonus points for the adorable whipit that appears to be a store regular. read more

We have used Mac Fabrics in 2 homes now, for our shades, couch and chair upholstery, and most recently to put blackout treatments and balloon shades in our newborn daughter's room. If I had one complaint it's that they were in the middle of the busy season and couldn't do the installation as soon as we might have wanted, but such is life. read more

This store has an exceptional selection of indoor and outdoor fabrics, but some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. There are no bargains here, but what you select will be quality. That's as good as it gets at Mac in my opinion. I don't really care how cute the owner's dog is. I care about being greeted politely and assisted promptly. read more

While Mac has tons of fabrics - many seem to have been there for years. A discount on an old fabric should be much more. Also, cute dog - it has personality and is interested in the customers. Such a shame the staff does not share the same attitude. I asked a question, but had to wait for the 2 workers to finish their conversation about scrapple and spam, only to look at me with that "we only work here" look. I asked then for assistance in the sample room - "Oh, we don't do that here." If only that dog could have spoken..... In the future - I won't waste my time on Mac - I can find just as many fabrics on-line or at other fabric stores in the area. If it's not worth the time for the staff to help me, then it's not worth my time to shop there. read more

The fourth star is lacking as they are really very expensive. They however have a fabulous selection of fabrics and the quality is also tops. Their work is very good but they are very pricey. If price is of know concern , then this is the place to use! read more

I recently used Mac Fabrics to have a slip cover made for my sofa. I could not be happier with the service and the quality of the product!!! My mother lives in WPB and has been shopping at Mac Fabrics for years. She loves the store and recommended them to me. I live out of state and this is my second home, so I am not familiar with them except by word of mouth. I had the fabric shipped to them and they promptly picked up my sofa. The turn around was so quick and the slip cover is BEAUTIFUL!!!! It's so well made and fits perfectly. I would recommend Mac Fabrics to anyone for quality and service. Was so excited last year to find this fabulous fabric store while visiting West Palm Beach. They have every upholstery and drapery fabric one could possibly want. Visited again today and found exactly what I was seeking. Their stock is organized primarily by color which helps immensely to zero in on what you might want. If the fabric you seek is not on the floor, they have an extensive selection of custom fabrics, too. Each of the sales people was incredibly knowledgeable; this was a blessing because I live too far away to easily make a change. read more

I've been going to Mac fabrics since I was in high school-it's a staple for me and my mom -sometimes just to look. I moved to LA several years ago and still wait until a visit back to palm beach to buy fabric-I know that sounds crazy but they have an amazing selection and super helpful staff -don't get me wrong -they are old school -but really know their fabric and measurement stuff-something that always alludes me. read more

This would get a 5 star rating for the fabric they carry but because the staff is so rude and unhelpful they deserve one star. When you are going to spend a pretty penny on fabric you should have decent customer service. Don't bother calling this store, the women on the phone are so annoyed you will think twice as to why you are using Mac fabrics at all when there are so many great textile stores in Florida. Advice to Mac owner I would restaff your Clematis St. location ASAP, your staff is running good customers out of your store. read more

The fabric choices are great. It is evident employees are not treated well here. It is reflected in how they treat customers. Perhaps the owners prefer catering to designers only? Whatever the philosophy, staff ignores customers. You can be in the shop for an hour and no one will even acknowledge your presence except for the friendly dog! read more

If you are just going here to buy fabrics there are lots and good choices. If you need any services go elsewhere. This store has the worst customer service I have ever seen. AWFUL! And they are ridiculously overpriced. They messed up my order and had to redo it. Then the installer never showed up at my house or called on the day of the installation. And the store could have cared less. I had roman shades made and was charge $430 for the cheapest looking thing you have ever seen. I don't know how they stay in business. You absolutely cannot rely on this staff for anything. read more

I have been shopping at MAC Fabrics for years. Could not imagine going anywhere else. Many mega stores put on 'sales' although hike their prices up first and MAC's prices better and the quality of their fabric is excellent - no seconds here. I live in Jupiter and drive the distance to go to MAC, as it is the best fabric shop around - hands down. They were recommended to me over 20 years ago by a friend who lives in Ft. Pierce. SO happy she did! The folks that work there are so helpful and friendly, and treat you like family. Every time I go I see the same faces which means they are terrific to their employees as they have been there for years (a family). I had all of my living room pillows (8 in total) made there from small to very large floor pillows and they were perfect and each set was made with a different design, fabric and trim that all went together and complimented each one. The designs and fabric they picked for me and put together I would have had to pay top dollar for a designer to do. The finished product made in their workroom was sensational. My sister and I, who are passionate about beautiful fabrics, had the pleasure to spend hours at Mac's Fabrics and their Outlet in West Palm Beach. Never have we experienced the thoroughness and outstanding customer service provided by this Business. We had the pleasure to work with the Store Manager at the Outlet, who was amazing and most accommodating, sooo serious about her job, an extreme pleasure. Then there was April at the main store, who was of utmost perseverance in providing the absolute perfect match and practical solutions, that is a rare quality! We felt priviledged to be served by April and made a point of telling the Store Owner that the reviews on his website were most unfair and inappropriate.
