THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! 5/5 -- I highly recommend!!! The touchscreen on my phone was very messed up to the point my phone was not usable. I held off on getting my phone fixed for the longest time, thinking that it was an internal issue that would be extremely difficult to fix. In fact, Apple tried to charge me $600. I thought I would be better off getting a new phone at that point but did not have the money to do so. However, I messaged Staymobile (through Yelp) and got a response literally right away. I explained my problem and they pretty much said it was an easy fix that would cost around $150. I immediately went and dropped my phone off and it was fixed in around 30 minutes. They were so professional, kind, and my phone is as good as new. I really appreciate a business that is honest and is not trying to swindle you. I'm so happy with the down-to-earth, straight-forward, customer-oriented service I received from Oliver. My Mac laptop needed a new battery. Oliver installed the battery in about an hour and a half. By comparison, the places Apple referred me to wanted me to leave my computer with them for 3-9 days while they ordered the part. First of all, customer service is fantastic! It was easy for me to communicate with them via phone. The technicians were professional and very knowledgeable about Macs. These folks fixed my iPhone today. They replaced the battery, which the folks at PeachMac said couldn't be done, and charged me half of what PeachMac would have charged me if they could have done it. The folks at smartphone MD are fast, friendly, affordable, and funny, and they take care of all the iPads for the city schools--how cool is that? And they have great decor on their walls--all of the broken, shattered cases they've replaced. The location is super convenient to UVA, but they're sort of hidden away in a courtyard, so you need to work a bit to find them. So my iPhone flopped on my kitchen floor. Not in it's case. "No broken glass. Sweet." Uh...Not really. Nothing but blue lines. AT&T? Not helpful. So I turn to Yelp! StayMobile is the top of the list. I cross reference with a couple other places. Everybody likes these guys except for one or two vocal gripers. Cut to the chase. Phone quickly fixed with a perfect matching screen with a nice new protector installed. No bubbles, even. My son bought an accessory and dude gave him a discount. We even parked for free. Why 4/5? I visited my friends for couple weeks during this summer and cracked my phone there. Yelp showed me this store as the closest store to us and their review were great. I brought in my iPhone 6 to have my screen repaired due to a major crack. The price they charge is very expensive compare to other stores,it was $40-50 than other charge but I thought if it's more expensive than it should be better. I didn't have a car so my choices were limited. The customer service was good, probably it was the only part what was good. The repair took a bit longer than I expected (2 hours). The screen looked brand new. One major issue is that I continued to have problems with the phone as it would freeze in between apps and I had to continually restart the phone to avoid the issue. I didn't have this issue before screen replacement. The issue had nothing to do with multiple apps running at the same time as I always shut them off. I don't see myself coming back here due the lack of repair skills and because I live in NYC and here prices are more reasonable than at Charlottesville,but unfortunately I shattered my phone at C'ville. read more

I was cleaning my screen and liquid ended up getting through the cracks. I woke up to my macbook screen with vertical color lines and discoloration. Devastated and thinking this would cost me $600+, I found this place on yelp. I went in told him my situation, he told me he had a refurbished 13inch screen he could slap on my computer for around $260. Left the computer at Mac Simple, got a text 2 hours later saying it was ready for pick up. When I arrived, my laptop looked good as new, seriously like nothing ever happened to it. I paid, thanked him a million times and left. I spent a total of probably 5 minutes in the store (drop off and pick up) and the screen replacement took only 2 hours. I would recommend this business to anyone who needs their macbook repaired. The place on barracks wanted to send it off and quoted me for $660. They told it would cost around $500 to fix and so I started calling around different repair shops to get quotes. When I spoke to Tom on the phone he said he thought he could fix the problem for $100. Drove out to Charlottesville the next day and sure enough in about a half hour he had fixed the issue for the price he told me over the phone.
