0 stars for keg service. This location has screwed up my keg order 3 years in a row. First, they said it must be done in person. Show up in person and no one knows what they're doing. Lost my keg order form at pickup. One year they gave my keg away to someone else 30 min before my scheduled pickup time. Another year they just tried to give me different kegs to make up for the fact they don't order why I had pre-ordered the week prior. The only reason I had gone back was there are no other options in Columbia, MO so they get away with being terrible. read more

Very nice store with a great variety of wine, beer, and spirits. Very nice selection of each wine varietal from lower to higher end. California wines are sectioned out of varietals and organized more by vineyard. A small selection of Italian and French wines too. The craft beer selection is grand and you can build your own 6-pack. There is a drive through for quick beer pick up (or I'm sure any item they sell). Spirits was also nice selection, with a very wide selection of whiskeys...especially Canadian, Irish, and Scotch. I'm so amazed with this liquor store! We're from San Diego CA, so drive thru liquor stores don't exist. When I found out you could go through a drive thru and buy alcohol, I was mind blown. It was very quick and easy, and the girl who helped us was so nice! The drive thru is definitely helpful if you only have a few quick items you need to grab. read more

My husband and I walked into here looking for a particular product, which they did not have. A nice woman on the floor offered to order it for us, however it would take a few weeks to come--place across the street said they can have it in by next week. We decided to just browse and pick up a few random bottles that look interesting and while we were doing that an associate walked over and offered assistance. We declined and my husband gave me a slight hug (I am having an overall difficult day), when the man scolded him saying that this is a "family place". This is a liquor store, not a Chuck E. Cheese. Family place indeed. I hardly think there is a presence of young children on the regular. I also hardly think there was any inappropriate or unreasonable PDA in that moment, however I straight up disbelieve it is in this business's best interest to scold their grown-ass customers for giving their family members slight hugs in their establishment. We walked out, we will not return, we will not recommend anybody visit. Arena Liquors is right across the street. They're friendly, have a good selection, and will work with you to get whatever you need. read more

Didn't think I would need to leave another review but here goes. If your business has a drive through window, offer the same service through drive through as inside. I really hope corporate sees this. Many times now I've chosen to give this business money. When I started getting served room temperature beer, I adjusted. I started asking specifically for cold beer. Then once in a while even after specifically requesting cold beer and being served lukewarm beer, I still didn't complain. Today Friday 12/23/2022 3pm on South Providence in Como, I did my usual. I asked for cold beer. No big deal. After she swiped my card and handed me my beer, I realized immediately that it was lukewarm. I asked her to please get me cold beer. She claimed that it was straight from the cooler and that was as cold as it gets. She was lying. I asked her if I went into the store and walked back to the cooler if there would be cold beer. She said no. She had to double down on her lie. Young pale white girl long black hair. So I pulled around front and walked to the back of the store. Guess what? Cold beer. I went back to my car and retrieved the warm beers to exchange. Judging from the body language, employee and manager had already decided I was in the wrong somehow. Manager was already visibly agitated. He came back with beer that was not as cold as what I had found in the front of cooler myself. Why do that? Why lie because you were too lazy to walk an extra 20 feet? Why have a drive through if you don't like serving people in the drive through? read more

Awesome selection, with a fun and energetic staff! I stopped in while visiting a friend in Columbia for Homecoming weekend, and this place was packed however that didnt stop the staff from moving the crowd along, check out was fast and easy. Another plus was that they even had a specific Moscoto, which had been nearly impossible to find elsewhere. I will be making another stop here next time I am in Columbia! read more

I recently moved to Columbia, and have been trying to get a sense of what wine and spirits cost around here. To ease the process, I typically go to different stores and pick out favorite products and take a picture so I can later compare and see what price ranges are like. I had liked this store before because of its wine tastings and because it has a lot of variety. On today's visit, however, I was told that I could not take pictures of the price tags in the store. When I asked if it was illegal in the state, I was told no. When I asked if there was a sign posted saying I could not take pictures in the store, I was told no. So, I left. Overall, I would say this store is more expensive than most others. Unless you're looking for something specific, I would go to WalMart close by for basics--it's much cheaper. Or, pick Lucky's or Hy-Vee for a better customer experience (where I've never been shunned for taking pictures). read more

Fantastic addition to our neighborhood! Even fill my car with fuel there now- one stop shopping. They have everything!!! Tasting areas if you're shopping for something new. Fantastic gift items. There is also an area to pick up cheese, sausage, crackers and nice little snack things if you're on your way to a party. The staff is freakishly friendly and always insist on carrying your purchases to the car!! Amazing. I thought, as I had been told that someone would call me today about my undelivered $53 order. The response after 3 follow up calls that day was, "unfortunately," followed by a "sorry about your luck." My video doorbell showed no activity, no delivery or theft, of my order. Again, I called on Sunday, being told that Monday morning I would hear from the office. NOTHING. I have used this service three years now. Being a disabled veteran, who cannot drive due to a tbi, this service was highly appreciated. I guess I look like a person who won't make noise about this situation; looks are not always what they seem. I will tell everyone I see how badly this has gone. This place has a wide selection of wines, whiskies and other alcohol. The staff is fun, friendly and informative. They let you try certain different wines and when I was there they had a Salvadors' brand margarita tasting too. They also have a lot of gift items too. This review is based solely on customer service, not product. I'm a frequent customer and appreciate the extensive wine selection very much. But just 10 min ago, I placed a call to have my wine delivered to my home. The woman on the phone, possibly a manager, began to take my personal information. She asked me for my name. I gave it to her and she asked me to spell it. No problem. I began spelling it but she kept stopping me to have me go back and begin again. Ok. I spelled again. This time with words to illustrate each letter. Perhaps to explain why she couldn't get the spelling right, in a frustrated tone she stated to me, "sorry, your name's not traditional..." I took offense to this. What started off as a pleasant conversation, turned into me feeling as though I'd just been insulted. Insulted enough for me to immediately write this review. I love this place. Nothing like it in Columbia. I love the inside bar's they have for tasting and also for a full size drink or beer. Drink while you shop! They have a large selection and have always been willing to order in what ever they do not have. Love the free bags of ICE. The good news is that this might be the coolest retail store in CMO. The bad news is that if you're as prone to indulging an impulse purchase as I am, you will never walk out of there on budget. The prices are slightly higher than your local grocery store, but the service and selection more than make up for the difference. Tried the drive-thru for the first time thinking this is excellent until the clerk questions me about purchasing a fifth for over fifty dollars (Crown Royal XO)along with other alcohol as if I should only purchase one item and not that expensive. I want to compliment the manager at Macadoodles who made an effort to help me return my merchandise. This review, however, pertains to the General Manager who showed zero interest in customer service. Sunday I bought approximately 15 bottles of liquor for an afternoon BBQ. After the party, we had 6 bottles of alcohol leftover. Unfortunately, someone threw away our receipt when they cleaned up the party. Tuesday morning, two days later, I went to Macadoodles and explained my situation. The GM was not in the building when I stopped by, so I had to re-visit Macadoodles 3 times that day before finally catching the General Manager. On my third trip to Macadoodles, the GM did not speak to me face to face. Instead, the GM sent the manager to relay messages from the back office and told her the final decision over the phone while sitting in the back 100 feet away. The reason for not accepting my return... "because it's illegal to return alcohol." This is a bold face lie. On page 36 under section H, returns are unacceptable ONLY if it's been more than 7 days since the date of purchase. (http://www.sos.mo.gov/adrules/csr/current/11csr/11c70-2.pdf "Returns. Merchandise returns exceeding seven (7) days from delivery date shall not be accepted for return from a retailer..."). My purchase had been made less than 48 hours prior. I am not disappointed because I was unable to return my merchandise, I expected that outcome because I did not have the receipt. I am upset because the GM demonstrated flagrant disregard for customer service. read more

Top Ten Places for customer service is definitely not something this franchise strives for. Starting with the location... by far the worst access. You have to drive past the store twice before circling back through a poorly designed round-a-bout. Avoid going during any rush hour period of the day, as the round-a-bout is far too small to handle the traffic. Once you reach the driveway , you have to drive around the building as it faces Providence Road.. although this is a pretty typical suburban development planning disaster. Access off Green Meadows is one-way traffic, thus why it has a Green Meadows address baffles me. There is also no pedestrian access from Carter Lane or Green Meadows without walking into the driveways and around parked cars. read more

Macadoodles has the best selection of liquors anywhere around. I've not found anywhere that beats their prices with any consistency. When I see something I want there, I buy without hesitation because I don't worry that I'll find it cheaper somewhere else. I have always found their staff friendly and helpful. One particular occasion I returned home and found I didn't have the itemized receipt necessary to submit a rebate. I called and they mailed me the receipt. That's five stars in my book. read more

The staff is friendly and the store appearance is appealing (even if a bit "down homey"). But . . . it hasn't met our expectations any time that we've visited. Beer tasting center - rarely is anyone ever offering tastings and, if they are, they don't have beers that you would want to taste - I already know what a shandy tastes like. As for wine, the wines are comparable to grocery store quality, which means this isn't the place to go to when you're looking for a quality wine from a particular region or one to suit your tastes (as the staff is better at telling you what they like than assessing which wine you might like). Probably good for a tail gate pick up. read more
