This firm has no teeth, no fight, and will do absolutely nothing to protect your interests. From the very beginning, they failed to mention that they don't even go to court. Despite the ongoing and obvious issues with my co-owner--my brother--they strung me along for over two years, charging $5,000 upfront, another $9,000 later, and then hitting me with an additional $27,500 at closing without any prior disclosure. All this, and yet no real progress was made. They allowed my brother's lawyer--a local storefront real estate attorney charging only $4,400 over two years--to completely push them around, dictate the terms, and walk all over me. My lawyer had no fight in them to stand up to the other lawyer, protect my interests, or stop me from being taken advantage of. My brother unilaterally evicted tenants, costing me 18 months of rental income, and I made it clear I would not pay for renovations and wanted the property sold as-is. Despite this, Russo Law Group let my brother take full control of the situation while I was left with no say. To make matters worse, after all that time and money, they revealed that they don't handle court cases and would simply pass me off to another firm for legal action. Why wasn't this disclosed upfront? Adding insult to injury, my original lawyer left the firm, and I was reassigned to someone completely unfamiliar with my case. Russo Law Group is toothless, ineffective, and a complete waste of time and money. They failed to protect my rights, allowed the other side to steamroll me, and drained me financially while leaving me worse off than when I started. As a helpless, young 23 year old with no knowledge of law or the court system, he actually helped settle her estate quickly, but after that.... It's been radio silence since!!!! I signed a retainer agreement in late 2018 to begin a new lawsuit and paid the retainer fee. Please note, this was PRE-PANDEMIC. I had ZERO communication from Mike after I signed the retainer... then entire year of 2019 flies by after dozens, and I mean DOZENS, of phone calls, emails, texts to Mike's personal line.. he told me once or twice papers were ready to be filed with the court... I would call to follow up, left many messages requesting a call back... No response. No actions. No explanation behind the hold up. Now it's 2021 and the pandemic is in full force, so Mike is able to chalk up the delay to the pandemic and courts being closed. Mind you, this is almost TWO WHOLE YEARS AFTER THE RETAINER WAS SIGNED!!! Pandemic has now calmed down, courts are open, he's obviously taken on more clients and continues to blow me off. I call looking for updates on several more occasions and nothing. Literally ghosted by an attorney at law who is supposed to help you fight for what's right and just. Now, here I am 30 years old and Mike has been dragging my me along for the last seven years and all I want to do is close that previous chapter of my life. I asked Mike in the early spring of 2022 for my $5,000 retainer fee back after asking him if this is how he treats all of his clients to which he said, "No, it's unacceptable and I apologize. What's your address? I'll send you back your retainer agreement." Yet here we are another 3 months later and still nothing. I can't be the only individual with such a horrific and traumatizing experience. I wanted to give Mike the benefit of the doubt, but here I am still grasping for straws with this guy. The most unprofessional, unreliable, least empathetic professional I've ever dealt with. Save your money, your time, your sanity and go elsewhere for an attorney.
