Unfortunately this daycare has high turnover for employees who last no more than a month or two. They are extremely understaffed and over capacity with children. Week after week we drop our daughter off around 7:45am and there are 5 infants to one teacher in her class. If our daughter is not one of the 5 babies, they turn us away and tell us they have no more space for our child. It happened last week and again yesterday and again this morning after arriving earlier than expected at 6:45am. They claim they sent an e-mail notifying parents of the staffing shortage but no e-mail was receive to my wife or my accounts on file. We pay almost $300 a week for this place, $1200 a month. For Creative Playrooms of Solon to be so unprofessional and unreliable to still take our money and deny us space for our child due to staff shortage and over capacity of kids is ridiculous. They need to get shutdown and have their license revoked by the state and Cuyahoga County Department of Consumer Affairs. I assumed this was a legit child care with close proximity to my office, I am an executive for the World's largest food & beverage company and to have to miss a day or two of work because they are negligent and understaffed with accepting my child is horrendous. I packed my son's lunch to only discover they do not warm up food on those 3 days. It takes 1 minute to warm chicken nuggets and cheesy rice. We told my son at his lunch at 11am and 2pm. However once he got home, it was discovered he didn't eat his lunch at all! Asked the admin about it and the teacher they said, well we encourage him to eat it however we did notice it was cold. Yes! It's cold and he's not going to eat cold food! 3) my son has frequent accidents because he's 2 and potty training. They took him outside for 20 minutes. During that time, he used the bathroom on himself. My son was outside for at least 10 minutes wet with underwear . It's 40 degrees outside, nobody said noticed it until I said something while pick him up. How are you watching people children and don't notice a little boy in grey sweatpants wet! The excuse well could of fell! He didn't fall, just on his pants. I would never send/recommend this center to anyone. The admin and owner do not care about the children here. Lower has the beach, volleyball, concessions, bar on top, seats, restrooms, pier, lots of grass and grills but no pavilion. Parking for upper or lower is easy but both parking areas are separate. You cannot get to one through the other. You actually have to drive out of the park to other entrances to access each area. There is plenty of walking, running, biking, scooters, trails. And plenty of grass area in both to play soccer, baseball, football, frisbee, kites, almost anything. There is even a dog beach. Lots of things to do and to enjoy yourself outside. You cannot even bring a sandwich, chips and a drink or whatever and have a spontaneous picnic. The other fun thing to do is watch the air show from here. It's free and you see most of it. You even get buzzed by a plane or two. This is an enjoyable park. I wish it was closer to me. You cannot even bring even get a great pic of Cleveland and one of the Cleveland signs.

We had three young children with us. You enter through the main pool area and walk to your right out a set of doors. There is a large pool area that is sectioned off for different uses. There is a gradual entry area with a water playground for kids, this is connected to the main part of the pool that gets about 5 feet deep. There are 2 slides that you have to be 48 inches to ride. The lifeguards have a break for 15 minutes after 45 minutes of swimming. All kids have to get out of the water. While waiting there are lots of lounge chairs, a snack shack offer ice cream, hot dogs, pretzels, etc. along with a playground and swing area for the kids. There are also two indoor areas you can take the kids to play with the frog pool for younger kids and the indoor water playground.

Registration is a bit of a process. You first have to create a profile through the Lorain County Metro Parks system, then return to the Splash Zone site to register for a specific program on a designated day and time. Once registered, the system shows your cost--mine initially showed $0. I arrived about 30 minutes early on the morning of my class, which turned out to be helpful because I had to re-register in person. After completing that, I was told there would normally be a $3 fee due to my SilverSneakers account. However, the woman at the front desk kindly let me attend for free that day, explaining that future visits would be $3. Since I'd never been there before, I had to navigate through several locker and pool areas. There are multiple pools separated by glass dividers with automatic doors--someone shared a helpful tip that the small black box above the door shows which side to stand on to trigger it. The instructor came in without much of an introduction, set up a small carry-on-size speaker, put on her headset, and began the class. The workout was aqua Tabata (a Japanese-style interval workout): 20 seconds of fast-paced movement followed by 10 seconds of rest. The class lasted 45 minutes. I stayed for about 30 minutes, choosing to leave early since shower space is limited and I like to be considerate of others. The workout itself was excellent, and being in the water felt really good. The showers, however, were not great--hair on the floor and a general "public park" feel, even at 10:30 a.m. I was glad I wore water shoes. On the plus side, the water temperature and the very hot shower afterward were appreciated. The instructor mentioned that this is her business and encouraged people to connect on Facebook (with a profile photo), and it's clear she's very talented. Overall, despite a few logistical and cleanliness issues, I'd go back again--and next time, I'd happily pay the $3 when I'm in town.

On a Sunday afternoon, you will find lots of runners passing you and bicycles too, so just be careful and stay to the right.

The entire staff is so friendly and open, you really feel like you're a part of the family. My girl especially loves teacher Evan! The space is also large (and very clean!) with a wide variety of equipment for children to explore as well as for teaching different skills. We are so happy to have found TLG Shaker Heights!

Since we were coming from Chagrin Falls, I double-checked their Web site, Google Maps, and called to make sure they'd be open. Their site appears to have zero information about when they're open. Google Maps shows they're currently open Thursday through Sunday. When I called there was a prerecorded message which included days and hours of operation. Guess what? We wasted about an hour of our time and two gallons of gas. We made the trip only to find Airport Go-Karts completely closed for the season. In fact, the large sign on the side of the road said the last day of the season was September 25th. So this place has been closed for almost an entire month but hasn't bothered to update its hours on its phone recording or Google Maps (and probably other spots as well). Two other cars showed up shortly after we got there. I talked to someone who got out to look at the hours and he had no idea they were closed either; he hadn't even noticed the message on the road sign. In fact, the sign on the entrance still listed days and times the they're open, there was no mention of being closed for the season. On top of all of that, they still have offers available on Groupon (which will likely expire before they reopen). What a joke. I won't won't waste more of my time trying to go to Airport Go-Karts again in the future.

Diet cream soda does it for me every time! They have a nice, manned lake with paddle boats and canoes. There are a few different playgrounds, most of which, are in the shade. They recently added larger-than-life wooden rockers! There is a little area where kids can redeem tickets for prizes. The soft-served ice cream (vegan, by the way!) and cold novelties are always a hit! They provide hayrides which offer great history of the park and family that owns it. You'll see softball fields and many photo opportunities in the gazebo, pavilion and around the lake. The restrooms are very clean! So, go visit this wonderful, scenic, family-owned gem!
