I have read the other reviews and I don't necessarily disagree that their customer service is lacking...but I'm fine with it. They are usually grumpy, busy, sarcastic...So, SCOTTISH, basically. Hahaha As long as the quality of their food stays the same, I have no problem with it. Go in, buy what you want/need, pay and leave and you won't be disappointed. I was out for a walk yesterday and stopped by the store To pick up some black pudding. The lights were out, but the door was open. The owner, who was checking on the premises, gave me a pack saying "I can't run the till, pay tomorrow when we are open". That is classy. Thank you. I called in to get some meat pies. The store is closed, a neighbour said it closed in October 2021 and has not been open since then.

The new owner seems like a very pleasant fellow so disregard the miserable bastard posts .

Love this butcher. Mainly his bacon and Scotch Eggs. He used to have great pork pies but his supplier dried up. Still working on perfecting his pastry recipe! Great service, always friendly. read more

Unfortunately I cannot concur with the first review. I found the service in the store deplorable. I visited with my wife and father this week, and found the proprietor's abusive attitude towards my father ( a senior, and Military Veteran ) unacceptable. My father was sporting a shirt showing the name of one of his old Army squadrons, and the owner took it upon himself to pepper my father with rude and degrading comments about his Military Service. Disgraceful. Our family will not be returning, and will be passing on our terrible experience to all of our friends, co - workers, and fellow Veterans in Alberta. read more

Horrible customer service. Sold $60 rancid steaks and would not give a refund less then 24 hours later. Very rude. Please do not spend your hard earned money here. This might be a good butcher I really don't know , but customer service is TERRIBLE, I tried to place a phone order and pay over the phone as they didn't have online ordering, the guy said he didn't have time for a piddly order like mine( around $100 ) as he was busy. I explained I was not in Canada but another country and wanted to place the order for a dying relative who said he would love a Scottish bridie so I thought a small package of Scottish food might cheer him up. The guy on the phone told me to get someone to come in and order it and pick it up he was to busy. Not the point asshole......... read more

We've bought a lot from Gord over at MacEwan meats and EVERYTHING is ALWAYS so delicious. The steaks are fresh, but are also good frozen. We've had every type of pie they make and they are all sooooooo good. We even bought a turkey for Christmas dinner, and bacon for Christmas breakfast!!! read more

Bought a steak here and it was excellent. Also got a warm Cornish pastie - it was great! New ownership seems off to a really good start.

Went to their shop today got some black pudding sausages meat pies scotch eggs and some bangers and other sausages and a nice prime rib roast it all looks great. Will be going back again. read more

The best haggis in Calgary! And better than any in BC, Ontario and Nova Scotia that I've had. Also, the best Scotch egg anywhere!

Shop changed owners a couple of times. While the black pudding still tastes good, whoever does the slicing could do with some help. Slice depth is inconsistent with some slices being wafer thin, some a bit thicker and some tapering from thick to thin. Makes it hard to cook them with consistency. read more
